hmm....when growing up my elder sister was a world class liar and manipulator, everyone used to fall for this exact kind of thing, somehow though....perhaps after seeing it all my life, it didn't effect me. My sister still does it to this day, she doesn't talk to me or even like having me near by because whenever she lies or manipulates I call her directly on her bullshit without mercy and she cant handle it. I never really thought about it until now but this trait has also affected me in my romantic relationships; Whenever I was with a partner that tried to lie or manipulate me I was always able to cut straight through it and they would always be off put by this, like I was somehow immune to their only weapon. Now in my life the women I have dealt with in the resent years like to make the claim that im 'cold' and 'disconnected from my feelings' however, frankly I feel that the opposite is the case. Many of them don't ever seem to take the time to consider the 'other' persons feelings or to even consider that they are human beings at all.
The wisest among us once hurt the worst. The only kinds of people that will be bothered by that fact that you see truth behind body language will be the manipulative type. Alot of it has to do with how people are raised and the fact that so many women grow up fatherless. Manipulative mothers also seem to be so common where we live. Thankfully my mom broke the chain in my case, but hers was rather shitty.
My first girlfriend was a very needy person. I was still a noob, and she had me on an emotional leash for several years (I literally wanted out for years, but she managed to reign me back in a good number of times). Years since that relationship and a number of others, I also find myself mercilessly cutting through the manipulative bullshit. I also get the "you're so cold and distant" equally manipulative defence in return, that I still have to defend better against. Another one is that the idea that "You're being paranoiac", "I am not like those girls from the past". Manipulation is a very human thing to do. We all engage in it, in more or less morally deplorable ways. Women just have both nature and nurture on their decide to fully master it. That isn't necessarily evil, but it is a power. And power will corrupt if it isn't being kept in check by some mechanism. You have to be sharp in recognising and calling out any manipulation attempts. If not, it will consume your relationship in inhumane ways.

Yes, I think it comes from being given psychological laxness/spoiledness that results in them not putting effort into holding themselves to standards and being hard on themselves in any way. To try to stand strong, reslient, unswayed by immoral shortcuts of varying degrees... Of course there's exceptions to this if anything, but I think this is the noticeable societal 'trend' at least. Female children are probably coddled much harder than males in their upbringing, all the while completely beneath anyone's consideration or consciousness. Probably a mix of nature and nurture, as with so many things, but I lean more towards nurture overall to be honest.

It is precisely because resources are not distributed fairly or evenly (remember how guys tend to complain about women taking not half of the couple's wealth but the "guy's wealth" in divorce proceedings, and the resentment felt over a few women taking over what was traditionally a guy's job in the workplace) and because most men cannot handle a woman who comes straight out and demands whatever it is that she wants. It is men themselves who have caused women to resort to manipulation (acting weak, coy, sexy, sad, depressed, ill, girlish, hard to get etc.) in order for her to get what she wants. You cannot have it every which way.
My experience with women is that they manipulate primarily in two ways - find a man's biggest weakness - the thing of which is is most ashamed, and be prepared to emasculate him with that when needed. Secondly, appeal to his desires - but not his fondest desires in most cases, give him a bit of what he needs but never everything, even if you can. It is the heaven/hell dichotomy except that the hell is real, and heaven is like wishing for Disneyland and winding up at the County Fair.
The two biggest tactics to watch out for: -Women muddying the waters, obscuring the main topic of the conversation with baseless mundanity. -Appearing weak, afraid or in need of protection. Plays heavily into our evolutionary role to the point where men feel guilty if they leave a woman in need. The whole "come see me" part of the phone conversation really hit home with me. Cannot even begin to count how many times I've heard that, especially with the woman who did highly abuse me (and should be in prison, but is unfortunately not).

My mom is an incredibly manipulative person. Just a few weeks ago she had a two hour long incredibly circular argument with my little brother about why he wouldn't participate in a theater production she wanted him in. They went around in circles for hours and hours and hours, and every time he said he just didn't want to do it my mom would probe more, gather more information about how he was feeling, and then repurpose that information to pull him in again and eventually just wear him down until after two hours he said yes. I've come to see this behavior as normal due to being around it so much, and as a woman myself maybe I'm just less susceptible to it. I've known manipulative men as well but also many many manipulative women who get away with manipulating men for their entire lives and get a pass for it due to being female (like a wolf in sheep's clothing); but also I've seen women be accused of being manipulative just for expressing emotions, which I think is a symptom of originally having a true female manipulator in your life. But as to the argument my little brother had with my mom, he continually made the mistake of offering up more feelings, more emotions, more information for my mom to play off of. I don't know why he doesn't just say no to her from the beginning and then weather her questions without actually answering them. That's what I do whenever my mom starts fishing for information about school and my love life is give the shortest answer possibly and she leaves me alone in like 10 seconds flat (albeit with pushback but still). Compared to in the past, our conversations could go on for hours and hours because every question I would answer with my honest feelings about myself which would unravel another hour of stories about how everything I think and feel is wrong fully focused on my parent's life experiences. I feel for everyone in the comments here who has manipulative parents. I truly feel like detaching and shutting down manipulations is a skill that can be learned and I"m glad this video helped people with that who need to hear it. Manipulation is such a common human behavior sometimes we don't even realize it's happening until weeks, months, or even years past and we realize we've spent so much of it being someone we are not because someone manipulated us into constantly doing things we knew we didn't want to do. hmm....when growing up my elder sister was a world class liar and manipulator, everyone used to fall for this exact kind of thing, somehow though....perhaps after seeing it all my life, it didn't effect me. My sister still does it to this day, she doesn't talk to me or even like having me near by because whenever she lies or manipulates I call her directly on her bullshit without mercy and she cant handle it.
I never really thought about it until now but this trait has also affected me in my romantic relationships; Whenever I was with a partner that tried to lie or manipulate me I was always able to cut straight through it and they would always be off put by this, like I was somehow immune to their only weapon.
Now in my life the women I have dealt with in the resent years like to make the claim that im 'cold' and 'disconnected from my feelings' however, frankly I feel that the opposite is the case. Many of them don't ever seem to take the time to consider the 'other' persons feelings or to even consider that they are human beings at all.

Alot of it has to do with how people are raised and the fact that so many women grow up fatherless. Manipulative mothers also seem to be so common where we live.
Thankfully my mom broke the chain in my case, but hers was rather shitty.
My first girlfriend was a very needy person. I was still a noob, and she had me on an emotional leash for several years (I literally wanted out for years, but she managed to reign me back in a good number of times). Years since that relationship and a number of others, I also find myself mercilessly cutting through the manipulative bullshit. I also get the "you're so cold and distant" equally manipulative defence in return, that I still have to defend better against. Another one is that the idea that "You're being paranoiac", "I am not like those girls from the past".
Manipulation is a very human thing to do. We all engage in it, in more or less morally deplorable ways. Women just have both nature and nurture on their decide to fully master it. That isn't necessarily evil, but it is a power. And power will corrupt if it isn't being kept in check by some mechanism. You have to be sharp in recognising and calling out any manipulation attempts. If not, it will consume your relationship in inhumane ways.

Yes, I think it comes from being given psychological laxness/spoiledness that results in them not putting effort into holding themselves to standards and being hard on themselves in any way. To try to stand strong, reslient, unswayed by immoral shortcuts of varying degrees... Of course there's exceptions to this if anything, but I think this is the noticeable societal 'trend' at least. Female children are probably coddled much harder than males in their upbringing, all the while completely beneath anyone's consideration or consciousness. Probably a mix of nature and nurture, as with so many things, but I lean more towards nurture overall to be honest.

My mom is an incredibly manipulative person. Just a few weeks ago she had a two hour long incredibly circular argument with my little brother about why he wouldn't participate in a theater production she wanted him in. They went around in circles for hours and hours and hours, and every time he said he just didn't want to do it my mom would probe more, gather more information about how he was feeling, and then repurpose that information to pull him in again and eventually just wear him down until after two hours he said yes. I've come to see this behavior as normal due to being around it so much, and as a woman myself maybe I'm just less susceptible to it. I've known manipulative men as well but also many many manipulative women who get away with manipulating men for their entire lives and get a pass for it due to being female (like a wolf in sheep's clothing); but also I've seen women be accused of being manipulative just for expressing emotions, which I think is a symptom of originally having a true female manipulator in your life.
But as to the argument my little brother had with my mom, he continually made the mistake of offering up more feelings, more emotions, more information for my mom to play off of. I don't know why he doesn't just say no to her from the beginning and then weather her questions without actually answering them. That's what I do whenever my mom starts fishing for information about school and my love life is give the shortest answer possibly and she leaves me alone in like 10 seconds flat (albeit with pushback but still). Compared to in the past, our conversations could go on for hours and hours because every question I would answer with my honest feelings about myself which would unravel another hour of stories about how everything I think and feel is wrong fully focused on my parent's life experiences.
I feel for everyone in the comments here who has manipulative parents. I truly feel like detaching and shutting down manipulations is a skill that can be learned and I"m glad this video helped people with that who need to hear it. Manipulation is such a common human behavior sometimes we don't even realize it's happening until weeks, months, or even years past and we realize we've spent so much of it being someone we are not because someone manipulated us into constantly doing things we knew we didn't want to do. But nonetheless it is a struggle that can be overcome. Wishing you all the best.

Ask enough men and they can usually pinpoint a time in their life they either saw it or experienced it. It's behavior similar to a child.
There are 3 constants: 1. It's akin to something you'd expect from a child(screaming/pouting/striking). 2. It gets them whatever they want(engaged/gifts/favors). This is usually seen when aimed at exploiting men. 3. It's a standard men tend not do get away with(striking females/insulting names/nagging).
At work I have a young girl that pouts and calls my name like a child. And she whines too. She does this whenever she wants my attention or wants me to do something for her. Things like if she wants me to buy her food. She'll always whine. But when it's a female coworker, she A)offers to get the food, B)offers to pay, and C) does not whine at all.
I'll give you a rather easy example you can try anywhere. Ask men who work anywhere that has a freezer. If confirmed, then ask "Has a female ever told you to go into the freezer because it was "too cold" despite having to only go in there for maybe 5 seconds?" Another is if you asked to lift something that is "too heavy" i.e. weighs less than 20 lbs. This is always, always aimed at males.
Another is being called cheap/selfish/asshole for not buying a female something. Just ask yourself this, if you do what she wants, what happens? Answer: SHE GETS WHAT SHE WANTS. Women know what they're doing. They know. Some of it like hitting males and getting away with it is taught and then reinforced by society.
