Thanks for another great video. Love the knife edge and all the other smooth flying. You did a fine job at about the 14 minute mark of having great sounding scale jet sound in sink with your model!
Adam as always excellent flying and mine flew good too I am going to set mine up with your rates and if new pilots add the safe mode its a blast you know if I didn't have transmitter issue mine be looking new 😭😭☺ another very good detail video and review 👍👍👍👍
Hey Adam, I just had to make a pause in between the first flight demo to buy this one… what a crazy knife edge… your videos are super informative! Thanks!
Yes it looks like that! After your last words I’m considering of putting an As3x receiver in. I have a AR631 laying here. As I have understood I would need to put a profile of a similar jet in it. What have you done? I would have loved to use your Fms-link, but FMS doesn’t ship to Germany planes :/
Holy cow Adam, one of the best reviews yet... I can tell you really enjoyed yourself with this plane.. What a wonderful option for the pilots that don't want to invest in 6S, but really want a QUALITY, well designed Sport Jet... I'd love to see your process in tuning the AS3X in the RX.. That would make a great video.....
Man I can't remember...I gave this one to a young man at one of our clubs. I think it was center, but just measure your CG and move it fore or aft to get it to 76mm. Good luck with your maiden!
Great, concise video. I had two questions regarding the Futura 64mm. One was in regarding flying off grass and the other was running larger packs, like 3300mAh, you answered both for me! Thanks😊. I do have one other concern and that is the esc only being rated for 40A, but other reviews claim the wot current as being 48A. I'm a guy who likes to use an esc rated for at least 10% over the wot draw. Thanks!
Thanks very much! You know our bench test was way more than that, but a couple of things to keep in mind... Air density will affect the results as will it being a bench pull. In the air EDF.s (usually) unload a ton of amps so the readings airborne are much less than holding it back on a bench. That one has quite a few flights on it now, so far so good.
....great video Adam and the price is right for a 64 mm jet with 4 channels....flaps ...and don't forget.....this jet has "reverse thrust".....which is what sold me on this 64mm jet.....
Hello Adam I'm back again I just finished setting up everything in my futura. I'm using the reflex V2 gyro after hooking everything up I have no channels left for reverse thrust.
What a great aircraft Adam, i have been told the yellow model is faster LOL. But as to your expertise, the intro & flights were spot on. Well done you U tubers✔️✔️✔️
Another great review Adam!! It's a shame that this EDF can't be hand launched very easily, as I really fancy one!! But those tiny wheels wouldn't cope at the field I fly!! Anyway nice easy plane to assemble, and looks very nice quality!! And wow you flew it so well. You are an amazing pilot and can really put these Jets through there paces!! Great filming and editing Heidi, you both are a class act 😀👍
Hi Adam, I realy do not think you can go wrong with anything FMS....I did look at this but already something a little bigger in line but it is the same make and model....enjoyed the video ,
Top notch review Adam, such a great 64mm edf. The red is the best color for this one, imo. Nice work on the camera Heidi. Edit: it looks rather big sitting on your table, for a 64. AirHammer out!!
You mentioned at end of video about being a medium skill level jets …can I ask what jet you recommend as a first one ? Shall we say for a person that’s only flown ranger 1220 😊
It really depends on your skill/confidence. If you're really good and consistent with the Ranger...the new E-Flite Viper 64 is a great jet that can fly gear on or off, and has features to help a newer to EDF's pilot. If you are not consistent with the Ranger and a bit timid...the Habu SS 70mm is the way to go in my opinion.
The whole package looks excellent; certainly better than my HK version of the Stinger 64 which is terrifying to hand launch and eats up like 100m of grass if I attach it's horrible undercarriage. It flies about once every 2 years as a result. My only issue with the Futura is the gear - it is obviously extremely fit for task but i do hate seeing the gear 'down' which is why my Parkzone T28 has not had gear on it for the last 7 or 8 years. I would love to have seen some form of clear skid arrangement and hand launch ability. $189 has somehow become £225 over here but it still looks reasonable vale.
Its impressive, way more than I expected. I get ya, jets look better clean. That said I kinda put myself in "sport plane" mode to try and respect and embrace what they are shooting for, and the fact that others will like that. It was easier to forgive the gear when I realized how capable it was. That is the first 64 I've flown that wasn't a dog with gear. A couple of guys at the field were impressed as well. I think we all expected the gear to hold it back.
Great review and demonstration as always, Adam! I also love your flying style! When the 64 mm version came out, I was also considering the Futura. Sadly, here in Germany, it is some 100$ more expensive than in the US for whatever reason and in my opinion this isn’t worth it. MotionRC is also selling in the EU and you can get the Banshee 64 for the same price in US and also here in Euros. Not sure, if the Futura would be worth the price difference anyway.
Thanks very much Alexander! Shame the price is higher there. I've flown the Banshee, and it is a good jet. That said with the gear on this Futura would smoke it. To be fair though...it smokes any 64 with the gear on.
3:06 Hi Adam, I haven’t maidened this my first jet yet, my battery for CG is much further back to where the front strap is barely holding the battery and it still seems tail heavy. I have that same exact battery 4S 3200 50C thoughts?
The further back you put it, the more tail heavy it should seem. Move it forward. As you might have seen on our set-up info page we are at 76mm from the LE of the wing at the root, aircraft upside down. I wouldn't fly it behind that. We ended up with the battery quite forward. I don't remember what the manual says for CG...doesn't matter really. It flew very tail heavy with the battery back, and we set up our planes based on the flying...not necessarily the manual. The manual is a good place to start, but if we don't like something, we change it. We do point out in the video that we did deviate from the manual settings after we flew it.
@@ModelAV8RChannel Thank You! Love your channel and thanks for giving of your time and love of the hobby. You are appreciated more than you will ever know.

No, the voltage is the same. The higher milliamp hour pack's voltage won't sag as much under load...which is why they make more perceived power. I say "perceived power" because the actual increase in watts is not that much and is often negated because of the extra weight of the larger pack. We used those packs for the cg we preferred more than anything.
Really great video. This channel by far has the most comprehensive and complete amount of information. Super helpful, keep up the good work.
Thanks very much! We're glad the channel is helpful, that is our goal.
Thank you sir for sharing! You have one of the most straightforward and professional rc channels on UA-cam. Keep up the great work!
Thanks very much! We appreciate that.
Great Review young Adam.

Beauty AV8R, Groovy Stuff thanks!
Jono! Whats up man? Great to hear from you. Thanks buddy, it is a hot lil jet!
Thanks for another great video. Love the knife edge and all the other smooth flying. You did a fine job at about the 14 minute mark of having great sounding scale jet sound in sink with your model!
Thanks very much! It is a fun jet to fly! We got lucky with the full scale...we'll take it!
Ballistic flying, Adam! That model does look good value for money.
Thank you Gina! I flew that one like I stole it...lol.
Adam as always excellent flying and mine flew good too I am going to set mine up with your rates and if new pilots add the safe mode its a blast you know if I didn't have transmitter issue mine be looking new 😭😭☺ another very good detail video and review 👍👍👍👍

Great flying Adam knife edge circles on take off, what a pilot
Thanks, its a really good airplane!

great flights ! tnx for great look at this Futura...👍

your listed cg of 76mm, was that with the bigger batteries centered in straps, or more toward the rear? I'm hoping to maiden mine this weekend.

It lands slow and stops pretty quick anyway. Congrats! Super fun jet.
Brilliant review Adam, this Jet so fast, love the knife edge for. Take off. I am sure your CG advice is the correct one to do. 🫡
Thanks Chris! Great little jet. Amazed me how good it is with the gear on!
Awesome review,,, Im waiting on mine from FMS. So did you ever fly it without the landing gear?
Thanks, nope. Left them on. It flies so good with it, and I like the TO's and landings.
Adam the Lil Futura looks like a great flyer. I like the simple effective suspension gear on the Futura. Great demo, Jeff in LA USA
Thanks Jeff! Great lil jet!
What a great aircraft Adam, i have been told the yellow model is faster LOL. But as to your expertise, the intro & flights were spot on.
Well done you U tubers✔️✔️✔️
Ps when Heidi captures the jet heading away, it would look sooo good with an afterburner led’s around the outtake eh?
Thanks Noel! Yellow is always faster. Lol.
Afterburner would look good, but it is an outrunner, so no way to mount one that I know of?
great sense of humour mate.@@ModelAV8RChannel

Sounds good 😌
This was the first jet I’ve had that I’ve opted to take the gyro back out of it. It’s stable enough for me without a gyro.
Very good. Nice it does well both ways.
Great video Adam.
Thanks brother Chris!

Hi Adam, can you translate what your control throw settings to what it equates to rates on your Spektrum transmitter?
The rates are all 100%, but mechanical adjustments were made as well. To make sure you duplicate them (if that is what you want to do) measure them.
Hi - this flys awesome- could i train on this.? Thanks for great presentations ?
Thanks! No, it's not a trainer. maybe a good 3rd aircraft.
Ok thanks @@ModelAV8RChannel
Hi Adam, I thought I saw a video on this for an out runner afterburner, maybe I mis-read it.
Could be. Wouldn't surprise me if there is something like that.
And thanks for triggering me to buy two of this ones!! :D
Ha ha. It is such a great flyer.
And Cg INBD/OUTBD (left&right) will also change stall characteristics
Yes it can.

What where your AS3X gain settings?

hey what is the flight time with the 3200????
Go to 4:39 in the video. We do this on every review so you have all the info you need. There are always chapters as well, so finding it is easy.
Is there any danger in damaging the engine by using the 3200 battery pack?
No, the voltage is the same. The higher milliamp hour pack's voltage won't sag as much under load...which is why they make more perceived power. I say "perceived power" because the actual increase in watts is not that much and is often negated because of the extra weight of the larger pack. very epic 👍
Thanks!
Does this have thrust reverse options.
I don't think so, although it slows down well and doesn't need much runway.
Just checked another vidio that has the option. Look for a signal wire coming from the ESC.
Shes a ripper!
For 4s jet with gear...heck yes! Surprised me. Awesome jet.
can a 3200 mah 14,8v batter work?
Yes. It's in the video.
what flight time did you get?
