Just bought the master touch premium and it’s a superb grill as for the hinge I found it closed properly after I moved the springs, instructions can be found on UA-cam. The quality of the grill is good and so far I have used it to cook using the indirect method and the results were outstanding.
Hi Dave. I'm having an issue with grill not shutting off after a cook. I think it's because the lid is not fully sealing and allowing air to get in/keeping the coals lit. I'm seeing 3 hours + before it finally cools down enough to store. Did you have that issue with yours and did flipping the springs help? thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe! -Tom
Woah, what am I seeing at the 6:42 mark? That looks awfully nice with the shelf without the attached stand of the Performer. Did you put that together and if so, is there a video?
I can usually feed 8-10 adults to be honest. Depends on what we are making. For example, the meal in the video made 12 adults very happy. Both grills are great! You can’t go wrong. Thank you for watching. Please like and subscribe!
Hi, I am trying to decide between the master touch premium and the standard master touch without the Hinge lid; I see that the ring and plate are a huge benefit but is there still issues with the hinge after a fix? and with Gasket tape - basically is it not worth the risk and just to get the standard master touch because of the lid not closing - or is it resolved nowadays/ fixed with the hack? what would you recommend between the two models?
Thanks for watching! It depends on what you primarily want to use it for. If you plan and doing a lot of smoking then I think the master touch is the way to go. Mine is still bleeding a bit of smoke around the rim and it is getting better with time but I’m planning on buying a gasket to completely seal it. If your planning on doing basic everyday bbqs, the Weber traditional kettle is an excellent buy. With the money you saved, you can get a slow and sear to help with the occasional smoking. Hope this helps!
@@tomwadek Yeah I am thinking if you want to go low and slow then you need to unclip the hinge so you can turn the damper placement. basically the main difference in the ring and plate; are they that good? because its expensive separate, I normally do snake method
@@finnishchaga the ring and plate did a great job. The grill maintained a great temperature for low and slow. I honestly don’t know how much the ring and plate cost separately. I would just use the snake method if the price doesn’t make sense and you want to buy the traditional Weber kettle, otherwise the master touch premium is worth it for the ring and plate.
The features aren't worth the upgrade. The regular master touch is awesome. If you want a dedicated smoker, look at the Weber Smokey Mountain series. The WSM 22" is fantastic.

I don't have the strength to move the springs like that. I wonder if Weber ever fixed this issue.

Hi Tom, nice video, quick one. How many adults would eat from a single serving? im between getting this one, or a Spirit II 310.

@@tomwadek Howe much better is the ring and plate compared to a snake method? or is it 50/50; have you tried the ring and plate as a snake?
Why did I watch this before going to bed? 😫
What's the difference between the regular master touch for $219 and the master touch premium?
The premium comes with a new hinged lid design, diffuse plate and ring for smoking, and the redesigned shape. Thanks for watching!
@@tomwadek thank you
