This is what happens when you’re too ugly for hair metal. Honestly, the guys in Pantera should have worn MORE makeup if they wanted to record a soundtrack to the evil western KISS would have made if they were actually badass. Then they had to go and single-handedly destroy the genre of metal. Thanks, guys. Pantera sucks.

Where can i listen to your band? Whats the name?
As much as I enjoy listening to you guys but loving your own comments is gay like putting a heart to it
@@jameswishart226 they're great. The band is called STFU fatboy
I heard pantera for the first time at a party when I was 16. I said I didn't care for it and two guys in their 20s tried to fight me.🤣
This one time, a group of pitiful liars devised a nocturnal masterplan & began waging war on my nerves _literally while I was still fast asleep:_ crying for compensation, undermining the strength & purity of my power metal vocals, brandishing me a fool in public(!). It was _PANDELERIUM!_ Heck they even attempted to insinuate slurs of reverse racism upon me to stain my character by conflating the pigmentation of my epidermis with counter racialist tool(s), which as anyone who knows me knows *_PHILCORE CANNOT AND WILL NOT TOLERAAAAATE!_*
Their Masterplan backfired 'tho: after headbutting broken glass for a few hours to clear my head, I'd come up with the main riff & chorus of _'Five Minutes Alone.'_ _"WINNING!"_
These guys are fans of most of the bands that they cover. They are pulling a Skip Bayless effect to to stir people up.
Destroy the Black Keys.
Yes the black keys suck
I think they did that themselves.
Please do an episode about Sonic Youth! They deserve it, if only for their extreme abuse of musical instruments. Thurston Moore is basically a war criminal.
that's kinda his point tho.. it's the "art"
They also suck
The most hipster band ever
@@themadmattster9647 that's true lol and Thurston Moore is on every Iggy pop video I try to watch
Swans were much better !
Pantera actually opened for Metallica in Dallas 1984 during the Ride the Lightning tour. James and Lars were good friends with Dime and flew back and stayed with them on vacation.

I had the incredible urge to HEADBUTT SOME BROKEN GLASS while listening to this Podcast
5 MINUTES ALONEEE
Q: What's more PHILCORE: headbutting broken glass, or headbutting unbroken glass?
A: Trick Question (false dichotomy!):
Adherence to the tenets of PHILCORE requires headbutting of both unbroken & broken glass (pref. in that order).
The guitarist equivalent of double kick is probably sweep picking
People love how that sounds, though.
@@YourFavoriteBandSucksPodcast I think it sounds gimmicky in most cases...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ to each their own, I guess.
Dragonforce sucks - coming soon 😂
@@YourFavoriteBandSucksPodcast a lot of people like double bass in moderation it sounds amazing.
Exhorder was another obscure band that played groove metal before Pantera became Pantera.
This is so far the most complimentary video ive heard so far
Indeed.
Pantera had no influence on extreme metal, just a bunch of nu-metal bands that aren't metal by any stretch of the imagination. Pantera just ripped off the groove of Exhorder and dumbed it down after they left glam "metal" and the spandex behind.
Thank you
JFC would it kill you to think of something original to say??? This "they ripped off Exhorder" trope applies to CFH and maybe some of VDOP. Nothing about FBD, TGSTK, or RTS sounds like Exhorder.
40:40 “pantera is what kept fans minds from evolving to the ‘NEXT level’”....missed opportunity sir
They should have been called Pan-terrible
I'm in a band called Panterrible. UA-cam that shit!
Pantera fans remind me of Raiders fans.
Very apt comparison. I had a 40 year old Pantera fan threaten me over listening to modern death metal bands.

Bevis And Butthead summed it up for me, watching the video for This Love: "You'll show your stepmother respect, Pantera".
with the past 4 episodes i keep thinking they are gonna do one in crue
They be like fuck you mannnn, but they secretly made it already.
I'm not sure if they will?
Tbh this one had some points that I didn't agree with, but at the same time it had many points that made me look at a band I like a lot in a different way. Great episode none the less.
This is so shitty lol, dude hair metal fucking sucks
Awwww... no video?!?! This so richly deserves the visuals. The hairspray era of this band is what i know most being from Dallas and having friends in bands that would play the same shows as Poontera
Do Aerosmith. Not a request; a demand 😉

I'm surprised you guys didnt go the Pantera ripped off Exhorder route.
In Power Metal album Phil sounded like Rob Halford. Thought that was dope.
I'm glad as well... By the way, I recently listened the whole Exhorder discography and even though they're a good band on its own, no doubt. Good riffs and musical passages, but they're not as "catchy" as Pantera. The Abbotts and company were in a whole different league 💯%
@@alexsanroman3861 exhorder > pantera
This is one of my go to bands but it woulds be a laugh to listen to you fellas roast Exodus?
As a fan of dimebag Darrell as a guitar player I absolutely loved this episode everything you guys said was so true it's not going to stop me from listening but it's great to sit back and laugh although what a noise gate actually does is prevent all the buzzy noise from distortion and gain so when he stops it's not a horrible hissing sound from the amplifier
Where are the Non violent Pantera fans?
I mean I cant be the only one....
Also poor Rex Brown man.
Right there with ya. We just aren't Petty and whiny about people having an opinion.

You guys said you did your research, and to a certain degree you did - but the SOLE REASON Pantera changed into the band they did was because they ripped off EXHORDER, another Texas metal band, in every sense: sound, looks... 100%
😴😪
They were from Louisiana.
@halColombohaven’t had a horse in this race for decades, but Vinnie Paul at his worst would wear you out, probably
The conversation about heavy music makes me want to hear you guys do an episode onCarnifex. It is not good, but it is heavy.
I love Pantera and this was fucking brilliant
Pretty sure they actually do too seeing how they have a lot of knowledge of those first 3 albums from the 1980s...as well as what they've said on other episodes...
I will fight you 🤣. Also i haven't read a book in the last 10 years 😂
I live in Houston and between 1988-late 1990 (Power Metal-CFH) Pantera totally burned down clubs in Houston. This was the complete high point in my opinion. This is before CFH broke out. They recorded in the studio that the Abbott Bros. dad owned.
That's awesome. The live show from late December 1988 is amazing.
I love Pantera and I love this video too
I love YOU!
I liked them in their TRANSITION period. That time between Power metal and Cowboys...Phil sang so bad ass at that time, band was on Fire...
Yes
"If steroid-use has a soundtrack, it IS Pantera"
Steroid use, tribal tats, fake tits, lite beer...all the classic trailer park shit.
Can't agree more but i thought Mark liked this band.
I have a feeling they like half the bands ahaha like they said they liked Led Zeppelin and done an episode on them.
@Matthew Anthony Sometimes they praised Led Zeppelin for smoking Beatles and Who members in musicianship but they are still open for criticism like them blatantly ripping off blues artists and those underaged groupies they had.
@Matthew Anthony I'm sure they praised em a few times.
@Matthew Anthony lol Cannibal are awesome and lol they are a band that is legit heavy lol.
@Morbid Angel is better than Death lol true. Death is better than Morbid Angel tho lad. Obituary smokes all!
No mention of Pantera being in a _SpongeBob SquarePants_ episode?

My heart dropped into my stomach the second I realized that Converge was on their radar. It's only a matter of time 😳
They won't touch Converge for a while bro, you have time to prepare aha.
I doubt they’ll do Converge. Tyler has said point blank they’re one of his favorite bands. I love Converge as well so I would let mind an episode on them
I need this in my bones
I reckon I just found my new favorite podcast.
Love the podcast and I usually listen to it on Spotify. Please if anything tbough quit putting so many ads on your videos.
I was on board with the double kick, but when you say it sounds like a horse charged through the song, it made it sound cool.
Y’all didn’t even have to make this episode. Pantera and sucking are pretty much synonymous.
No, sucks > pantera
LOL, you know the Respek Tuff Guy crowd will be commenting soon. Lol.
"Tough guy" MYTH pushed by imbeciles
I wish Dimebag Darrell and Cliff Burton had been around long enough to end up in a band together
That band would be horrible.
Please do one for Opeth, they're my all time favorite band but I want to hear your perspective on them. You can speak about anything related to them. Your podcasts are really entertaining
Here: Dan Swano rip off band that turned into a boring prog rock band.
@@123612100 ha!! Well I think Swano produced their first two or three albums (still my fave). I like some of their prog rock stuff but they’re pretentious as hell
why no mention of the album they made with your dad?
Pantera is the F-150 of music. Hicks think it's tough, but it's just an inefficient commercial vehicle.
"So Right So clean" by Cloud Nothings is a perfect example of a rock song being "hard" by mere composition and that shit bangs harder than most tryhard metal bands with 1/4 of the tempo
There is literally nothing hard about that song, at all, not even a little bit.
Wait they’re gonna do Beethoven-
Do Rush and The Pixies.
The Great Southern Trendkill🤘😈
Love your vids. If you’re going to discuss more bands in this genre or similar, maybe next time could be Megadeth, Guns n Roses, or AC/DC? Maybe even Van Halen?
They can do a whole month's worth of videos on Van Halen alone
@Margaret Ann Casey and the van Hagar days and their maligned Gary Charone era....oh boy.....
@Margaret Ann Casey I can imagine with all of their chaos and debauchery. And DLR has an ego the size of the whole in the ozone place. His solo career had so much insanity.
They like AC/DC and GNR. And they are right. Those bands are good and won't get an episode.

“Hair metal was the greatest genre of metal” is why I don’t take this podcast seriously lol I’m just here for the banter the takes go from being bad to elitist so fast
This is possibly the cringiest podcast I’ve ever come across. I found it through “Phish sucks” because they absolutely do. But when you’re praising Limp Bizkit and saying that AIC and Pantera suck, I can’t take you seriously for a single second.
I get it if you can figure out reasons to make fun of bands that genuinely suck. I get it if you can give valid reasons you don’t like a certain band, and you make those reasons thought provoking or funny as shit. Then I totally get it, even if the band you’re talking about is one I happen to like! But these guys just go on and on and on without saying much outside of repeating the same boring opinions in vocal fry. And when push comes to shove, their taste in music is absurdly bad.
They are the walking, talking versions of the Louis C.K. “That happened” joke. I cannot understand how they have a single subscriber.
I doubt it took Darrellbag whoever to figure out to use a noise gate. It was just proliferation of technology. Good ep.
Primus sucks!
I like Pantera up to the second half of Far Beyond Driven then they lost me. Good Friends And A Bottle Of Pills was pure Anselmo cringe
In light of the reunion I think this episode needs a follow up, because there is some SERIOUS bullshit and controversy surrounding it, even among the fans.
Plz do AIC! Both eras
Im shocked there's not an episode about Johnny Thunders and the Hrartbreakers (the original ones pre Tom Petty.) I love JT for just being who he was but the Dolls kinda sucked and the Heartbreakers aren't any better except for 2 classic songs.that DO RULE.
Why does one of the hosts wear a Pantera shirt in an episode of this pod? Check out the Van Halen ep to see it.
Love PANTERA‼️They’ll always be played at an excruciating high volume in my truck!... R.I.P Vin and Dime🙏 Gone but never forgotten🤘🤘
RIP DIME AND VINNIE 🤘🤘🤘. Also btw, fuck yeah ahaha love the dedication bro.
So then why listen to this? These guys are fucking jokes.
If Metallica Became more metal in the 90s, and slayer Slowed down their riffs, solos, and started screaming more, it's a good chance pantera would have kicked Phil out, and went back to glam.
Do Incubus
Do Elvis, Pavarotti, Michael Jackson, Mozart and every artist that had zero talent. You guys are on to something here.
I enjoy the podcast, it’s really funny hearing these dudes troll and slam bands that I don’t like and bands I also like, like the doors and Metallica (probably the funniest episode btw) but man I’m not sure if you guys are just trolling for the sake of being funny or you really think some of these bands actually suck. As you know, music taste is subjective, and I’m sure a lot of the bands you like were influenced by bands you say suck. I get the impression that you dudes like 80’s hair metal like GnR and Motley Crue, which that scene really sucked in my opinion, but I dig some Motley Crue here and there, but Pantera though? To each his own I guess, still funny, the comments from butthurt fan boys are hysterical.
The entire premise of the show is that music taste isn’t subjective by the way.
I've just started watching this podcast and I find some of the vids hilarious. I really liked the STP one even though I am an STP fan. I do agree with some of their views like in the RATM one. I don't take their vids seriously and if I enjoy the music, I enjoy it. I mean, I like Pantera but I'm not violent. I guess music taste is all about liking different sounds. I may not dig the lyrics in a song but I can appreciate other things like the drumming or guitars for example.
Doofy doof doof doofis dang dang dangle dong dong Phillip Anselmo ( the ' KID ') is a genius...

What? There are people who think "Walk" is a good song? Or that it's a song at all? It's got no melody and it's boring.
There are two Pantera songs that sound good: Mouth for war and This love. This is because they bring that Doom & Doom II nostalgia: Pantera ripped off Bobby Prince
Listen to slaughtered or strength beyond strength. Oh and Doom basically ripped off ''this love'' and ''mouth for war''! Watch the ''3 Times doom took inspiration from'' videos.

You just created a hipster band that plays accordions through distortion.
Most Double-Kick is computerized nowadays.

Do you realize the damage you're doing to every guitarist's psyche by saying that dimebag sucks because he was holding back?
Every metal guitarist who has been capable of shredding for longer than like a year knows exactly what I'm talking about.
It's like you're taking a shot of some really expensivevwhiskey, and then you complain that there isn't enough alcohol. The market has literally determined that this is the upper limit of alcohol that is still consumable by normal humans. We're here for the alcohol, but God damn, nobody wants everclear.
It's actually brilliant as a form of trolling.

I love Pantera and Glamtera, but Pantera pioneered the American New Wave and true metal went underground. Phil is cut out of marble though.
