Great video, could you advise how you got the nozzle at that angle please?
Came across this while pondering whether to silicone around plug sockets mounted over tiles.
I think I'm going to adapt Tom Tom's suggestion of loosening the socket, then silicone, tighten the socket, then clean.
I want the absolute minimum of silicone on the tiles, but want to fill the small cracks between plastic socket & tile surface/grout lines.
Just bear in mind if you silicone the socket it will be really hard for an electrician to take the socket off if they need to do any tests or repairs on it.
Hi wat caulk type is thebest forthis?
Straight to the point, thank you
Thank you
Nice video man! Thumbs up for sure. Don't forget to link back to the product you use! Subscribed.
Thanks for the advice!
What is the product name of the caulk you are using?
It was just simple decorators caulk 😊 any brand will do 👍
Might I recommend loosening the screws and filling and painting it properly, then you won't have to re caulk everytime you decorate or take the front off 👍
No, filler would just crack over time and there's nothing to fill.... You are literally caulking over the dark line where the socket meets the plaster 👍
Is it safe to do? I’ve seen things say it isn’t
Why would it not be safe??
@@LiamsToolbox it’s just what I’ve seen online. I’ve got a socket with a small gap & wanted to caulk it (I’m no expert) but was worried to do it until I saw your video and that’s why I asked
No its absolutely fine, all your doing is basically hiding that dark line so it looks like a cleaner finish, what was the things you saw that said it was "unsafe"
@@LiamsToolbox it was basically you caulk it then the plug can’t ‘air’ - which I was like really? I saw things on screwfix forum aswell
Its the first ive heard that the socket needs air 😅 if your not sure just leave yours, but ive always caulked around sockets and haven't had any issues
Dont do this
