Posted early on patreon: www.patreon.com/PengoSolvent huh? who's this? Lyrics: You left me when I needed a hand by the lamp post. Evenings turned to days, Evenings turned to nights... (x4, fading out) A job is a job is a way to pass time, but when passing time passes you by, tell me why No light doesn't phase me, no home doesn't graze me. No horns is no problem for I will not be a conundrum. Evenings turned to days, turned to nights, turned to face me... (x6) (Evenings turned to days, Evenings turned to nights...) The light from the light switch isn't the same as the light from true kindness, when accepting blame I'll walk into sunshine, and you can keep the post. If you catch up you can join me, I know you know you need it most. (evenings turned to days, evenings turned to nights...)
The song starts calm, beautiful, and serene. By the end there are feelings of sadness, loneliness, and fading away/being forgotten. It's amazing how much emotion you can put into a song!
I found ur music when UA-cam started recommending me fantastic phantasm in my playlists and i finally decided to listen to it and i was like "this is sick" and it turns out all of ur of ur other music is just as sick! Seriously dude ive never heard anything like it
I'm on headphones and a part of me thinks it may just me my tech, but at the same time I think the instrumental and the vocals blending together may be intentional. It works especially for the somewhat disoriented, possibly workaholic nature of the song, so I'm partial to the latter. Loving what's going on here visually and lyricism wise.
Gods and kings are lonely up on their thrones in heaven as they look down at what they rule over, what they created, that they can never touch. For their hands are always busy holding up the margins so that it never slips back into the aether. Or something poetic to say that's what I'm getting from that image. Almost like someone looking out a corner office. They're here now, but if they want to stay here they'll have to keep making sacrifices. Some other time they can breath, they can enjoy. Is this song in some sense a reflection of 'Anadiplosis Trim', or just in the same family of emotions? Longing for bravado, and the denial that one is longing for comfort or love.
And past that I assume there's the bookends. The idea of being hurt by someone leaving them to their work when they needed the comfort of another most, when in actuality they left because they can't stand the oppressive environment required to be around the one they love. The nourishment that work and it's passions provide no longer sustains the speaker, at least in a way that allowed them to keep going the way they did. That line about the other light, it's saying that they know they'd have to accept the blame for pushing them away. And that the following passage is a flashback they've come back to. "I know you know you need it most" is somewhat ambiguous, but at the same time not at all, and it has a punch that's painful for the speaker to throw.
this song makes me feel nostalgia I don't have memories for, and I love it! it sounds like something you'd hear in a dream or remember hearing when you were younger but you couldn't remember it clearly.. my favorite from the KD album by far :)
aaaaaa this song is so pretty!!! i also like how youve been experimenting with lyrics more- they sound so dreamlike! also... the silhouette of the character kind of reminds me of the murder mystery characters... are they related in some way?
no but thats very interesting! and thank you! this character is one that i have been wanting to make an album for for years (7 or so to be exact) and i've been getting much more work done for that album finally!
@@PengoSolvent awesome!!! im really excited to hear all of it, assuming things go well- and it seems they have been! really excited!! im guessing "of the oracle and the prophet" is part of the album too, and.. AAaA it seems like its gonna be great.
I see: Two figures, a lamp post, a home, two of these figures are King Deer and Bravocat, King Deer watches Bravo Cat walking into distance, probably walking into sunshine, while King Deer is left with the post

Lyrics:
You left me when I
needed a hand by
the lamp post.
Evenings turned to days,
Evenings turned to nights...

passes you by, tell me why
No light doesn't phase me,
no home doesn't graze me.
No horns is no problem
for I will not be
a conundrum.
Evenings turned to days,
turned to nights,
turned to face me...
