I think being able to gift several items to has to do with what level of friendship u have with them. So as your friendship progresses with a character tou can get and give more gifts

As some one with a 9-5 who can only play on the evenings, I'm really happy that the span of a day in game is like 30 minutes. I stopped playing Disney dream light valley bc it gets a little sad constantly playing at night lol
I believe they added a setting to change the time of day in dreamlight. It just changes the graphics so in real time playing at night it can look like day in the game.
I'm mad because I have been playing for over a YEAR and I didn't want to pay for it monthly anymore but I would have to start from the very beginning...Also a heads up for new players: the beginning is easy, but it does get to a point where it is a proper grind for materials, I have been playing for over a year and still didn't get all villagers etc.
@bessieish2077 no you pay the game price and that's it. Subscription is only if you played on apple arcade as it use to be the only way to play the game til now. Only sub you need is if it's on switch and you pay for online to play multi-player. Otherwise no, there are no subscriptions.

I saw a video that was telling people you can play as little as you want without logging in everyday; that it was a chill game. I checked the subreddit cause my antennas were going off and found players who got the game thinking the same only to realise it wasn't true. Plus the comment from the one of the people involved in the game, saying they wanted collecting clothes to be a status symbol and that's why they didn't want new players to catch up as easy, put me off a lil.
Fr i am completely stuck waiting for the tophat gudetama cause i need it to unlock every other quest but i need to wait for 2pm like what a random time and for the price what an annoying thing

I get it very easily and had to stop playing several games before because they made me feel so sick that I couldn't enjoy them. For a 40-60€ game, especially since you can't get a refund on the switch, it doesn't seem worth it. It's too bad because it looks super cute and I love sanrio characters 😢. 5:28 how you get villagers to visit then move in. First, you get the items they want in their room and place them in a cabin. Next, you wait for them to visit. Dear Daniel and Mimi visit more often than other characters. When they visit you should go and talk to them. They will give you a gift, which can be helpful with friending other characters. You cannot give them a gift. You can visit them every day of their stay and they will give you the same gift, but sometimes they might give you a better gift. Third, check your quests on the quest board next to the ladder near My Melody’s store. There are quests there and some of them are for the visitors. Completing these quests are pretty simple, but it improves your relationship. Mimi has had more quests than Dear Daniel, and so she became a resident sooner than he did.
@@eternity449 yes the longer you play visiors will also unlock quests specially related to mechinics inntroduced later on in the game. They will also unlock new visitors when they become residents/ reach five stars and are permanent in your island. Keep in mind that some are very hard to achieve and absolutely necessary to play daily since you'll need event items sometimes clothing as well and those are locked being a 13 level freindship for trading. this gatekeep is where a lot of mobile players myself included dont love this game

I played on Apple Arcade and I loved it. Canceled my subscription awhile back and waited for the game to come to switch. Since I played they added horsies and bunnies! I want to have a horse/pony character.
Played this when it first came out and I had a free trial of Apple Arcade. I was so excited to see it coming onto consoles. I got mine for the steam deck as opposed to Nintendo switch hoping for better performance. I’ll be trying it out later so we’ll see 🤞🏻
do you have a hard time switching between the switch and steam deck? i bought most of my switch games on steam because i was frustrated from mixing the buttons up if i played one more than the other lol changing the button configuration didn't feel right either. my brain defaulted to the one i wasn't using 🤦🏾♀️
I hate real life time games cos I have a life. The only reason I have so many hours in ACNH was because I could timeskip, but you can't do it here or it'll break your save file...
Life sims with time gating built in needs to be a relic of the past to Me they ruin what otherwise could have been an enjoyable rewarding experience. Most of us are adults with many responsibilities so it’s quite frustrating.

I purchased the game 4 days ago and I’m having a blast! I don’t mind being time locked because I already currently play other games that limit your grinding per day, so now I have 3 games to play daily. However I have to say, the direction with quests and other things can be VERY confusing. For example they never told me how to get to the other characters. I think you are supposed to repair some wood staircases on the cliffs but the game haven’t mentioned that so far. I was able to unlock Pompurin, Retsuko and the bird by running around the island and finding exploitable paths (which is good, I liked it as a reward for exploring, but they should give you hints of what quests you will need to do to reach these characters) Daniel moved to my island the next daily reset after putting the furniture inside… if he’s not there it might be a glitch related to time travel perhaps. I also wish there was a crafting recipe book so I know what items I need to farm daily for better gifts…
You did an amazing job covering what I want to know. This honestly sounds like I would enjoy it even more AC because of the exploring and having stuff to do. Decorating in AC felt very overwhelming for me and I never really enjoyed it. I miss the cutesy animal villagers and 2020 vibes - this might be just it! I love how it has stories and quests while still being very chill, however i wish we could time travel and not be locked by daily things bc it can feel like a chore. I dont have as much time as i did in 2020 so this might be a less of an issue for me
this video is very good but decorating is a huge aspect in the game let alot the fact new content creator have not reached the farming/flowers aspect of this game where now the devs are banking on you doing. Honestly wait a couple more months to see how creators react to the game play further down to really see for yourself if it's for you
The roller coaster ride definitely got my eyes feeling wonkey 😂, and I hardly get motion sickness. That aside though this game has everything I look forward to in most games like exploring, foraging, discovering; etc. I played till I couldn’t progress any further today which was about 11hrs 😅. The next game days will definitely be shorter, today was the grind lol

@ilexdiapason animal crossing has no stopping points whereas HKIA and cozy grove will have quest that say come back tomorrow and if you don’t have friendship blossoms and island bouquets you run out of things to do until the next day.
Just a quick fiy: you are not locked to gifting one things at a time. Eventually when you have more friendship with the characters you can gift multiple things at a time. I think the idea behind that is that when you first start, in theory you don’t have a lot of resources and therefore not a lot of things to gift? Not sure but just know it gets better for that
It‘s really a masterpiece💗. I love it so much already but iam a huge kuromi/sanrio fan But for me 2 major issues … I want to decide how long I want to play & friendship wise its very limited each day also more missions would be nice . It sucks that is real life based not game day based
Hello! Been playing HKIA in Apple Arcade since day one. To move in a visitor you have to put the furniture and things they are asking for into a cabin and then wait. If the cabin fits the requirements they might visit the island the next day. If you want to increase the chances of them appearing you can put in the cabin items that have the same icon as the visitors likes icon. If you want them to stay permanently you’ll need them to visit five times and complete the requests they make when they visit. That’s weird that on Switch they have it that you can only gift or craft one at a time. But if I understand correctly the Switch version is very behind the Apple Arcade version so it might be that that quality of life feature hasnt been added in the current build.

@ That’s odd, none of the daily quests was one from him? When you get a visitor one of the daily quests gets replaced by that visitor’s quest. And once you finish it tells you that your star rating with that visitor increased.

I just found out today that the visitors won't move in until you're better friends with them. I had Daniel yesterday and today Mimmy came and she said "I could see myself living here if we were better friends." So I think once you hit a certain level with them after they visted x amount of times and you've completed their request when they visit each time then you'll unlock a high enough star level with them for them to actually move to the island.

so am i the only one that got daniel to visit and even got mimmy today? splendid! /j yeah the loading screen issue is also a thing on pc, except the screen its just hello kitty floating with balloons. i suppose it has to do with how many things the game has to load? like all the places and characters and stuff? also the screen pov manipulation thing becomes a real problem in the puzzles. like, you have to jump in blocks that are not at the same direction as your pov and you keep missing them
I've played this game for about 4 hours yesterday. I love it! The play is simple, the art style is great and it's not hard (I haven't found anything hard yet at least). I'm a horsy animal and I look like a zebra. I think it's so cute. That 1/4 of a wheel is an actual wheel. When you run out of stamina in one wheel, the little 1/4 will completely fill the main wheel again.
Aww, it'll be a pass for me. I haven't got time for another game that requires daily play. I'm already struggling with Infinity Nikki. Maybe in the future though!
For the moving in thing, they wont always move in right away. My melody tells you they won't always be there. Also during thwt tutorial, check it regularly. You have to taok to buy an item and then talk to her THEN decorate the cabin.
it's a shame that it's 1. a daily game and 2. the same price as a hefty game like BG3 (if you don't want to be behind everyone else). there's something sinister about it that i just don't trust. i bet i would have fun with it for a while, but i struggle to do dailies for very long and prefer to play at my own pace (which is more like 8 hours some days and 0 hours others). it would be worth it for me at like, $10 regular game, maybe $20 deluxe which still feels overpriced but worth it. anyway thanks for your review miss bubbles i always love the things you point out that others don't!
I hate the camera but as a sanrio mega fan i got it the second it was available in pc, usually i don’t like games that have me doing missions like an delivery girl, but being the sanrio characters the one asking i can only run to do it 🤣
I am obsessed with this game!!! I’ve played for hours on my iPad (with no complaints so far) but I started over today on my switch because I much prefer that. It did take me a minute to realize gifting wasn’t optional though like other games, and necessary for advancing the story. But I don’t mind it, I always have plenty of stuff for them! I love all the biomes and how cute everything is 😭 also I tend to get motion sickness but for some reason this game doesn’t bother me, thank god! Lastly I don’t have time to play daily though so I feel like I miss stuff haha, I’m not sure if that’s true or not
You would miss getting the flowers and bouquets and also event items but it would not be a problem if you don't care much about 100% collecting everything
This seems like if Animal Crossing New Horizons and Disney Dreamlight Valley had a baby. Glitches on the switch included lmao. Luckily i find the glitches for Dreamlight Valley charming usually, so hopefully I'll find these charming as well! May get it for my PC instead though. When Daniel was moving in, I put 3 furniture down and nothing happened, I left the house, then I went back and added furniture again (I don’t think I even added it) but it triggered the quest and when I left the menu it was done.
I have been on the fence on getting this, and it looks like my type of game. Will have to see about getting it sometime. I love the Sanrio characters and absolutely enjoy exploring and puzzles. I hope they do some of the fixes though cause the camera does seem to be a little annoying.
THANK YOU for mentioning motion sickness! I bought it on Steam at launch and within 1 hour I got a headache and it did not feel good looking at the screen, I refunded and was maybe hoping it would feel better on Switch with a smaller screen?
I notice when I play in handheld it doesn't bother me as much as it does in docked mode, but remember we all have unique cases of what triggers our motion sickness. So what might be tolerable for me might be a disaster waiting to happen for you 🥹

I had a trial for Apple Arcade and loved this game but had a hard time playing daily, and I use my phone/ipad every day without fail and still struggle with infinity Nikki so don’t think I can do the daily play :(
I was like oh I'll get the standard version because I personally love a good resource grind... and then I found out it used irl time. Yeah no if I get I'll get the deluxe, I don't want to have to wait a set amount of days to get items 😭
I usually get motion sickness when playing Minecraft (even when turning off the bobbing feature and tweaking the settings) or similar games… but I’ve been playing HKIA since it started on Apple Arcade, and I haven’t had any motion sickness issues with it. Not saying it doesn’t happen! But it might not happen to everyone.
I was curious about this game, but looks like it won't be for me. There are aspects I like, but overall, it won't fit my lifestyle and I do get motion sick easily. Yes! I slowly got used to it cause I now know when the camera is going to move crazily so I expect it rather than have it catch me off guard like when I first started playing
You had me really wanting the game until you mentioned the motion sickness bit. Yeaaaah that's gonna be a hard no for me unfortunately 😔. Hopefully they update the game at some point and add an option to zoom out and control the camera.

it’s based on friendship level! you have to hit a certain point in order to gift multiple at a time

There is also pop in too but I can understand some people will find it hard to notice. I notice quickly cause of my motion sickness problems

I'm very prone to motion sickness as well, but have had no problems so far playing it on Steam Deck. Maybe you could buy it on a laptop or a PC?

10:10 you can gift multiple of the same item, which is usually a good thing, as I tend to gift the same item multiple times.

Once you are good friend with a character, you unlock giving multiple gifts. And same for buying and crafting. I just don’t remember how that unlocks.

Played this when it first came out and I had a free trial of Apple Arcade. I was so excited to see it coming onto consoles. I got mine for the steam deck as opposed to Nintendo switch hoping for better performance. I’ll be trying it out later so we’ll see 🤞🏻
do you have a hard time switching between the switch and steam deck? i bought most of my switch games on steam because i was frustrated from mixing the buttons up if i played one more than the other lol changing the button configuration didn't feel right either. my brain defaulted to the one i wasn't using 🤦🏾♀️

I purchased the game 4 days ago and I’m having a blast! I don’t mind being time locked because I already currently play other games that limit your grinding per day, so now I have 3 games to play daily.
However I have to say, the direction with quests and other things can be VERY confusing. For example they never told me how to get to the other characters. I think you are supposed to repair some wood staircases on the cliffs but the game haven’t mentioned that so far. I was able to unlock Pompurin, Retsuko and the bird by running around the island and finding exploitable paths (which is good, I liked it as a reward for exploring, but they should give you hints of what quests you will need to do to reach these characters)
Daniel moved to my island the next daily reset after putting the furniture inside… if he’s not there it might be a glitch related to time travel perhaps.
I also wish there was a crafting recipe book so I know what items I need to farm daily for better gifts…
You did an amazing job covering what I want to know. This honestly sounds like I would enjoy it even more AC because of the exploring and having stuff to do. Decorating in AC felt very overwhelming for me and I never really enjoyed it. I miss the cutesy animal villagers and 2020 vibes - this might be just it! I love how it has stories and quests while still being very chill, however i wish we could time travel and not be locked by daily things bc it can feel like a chore. I dont have as much time as i did in 2020 so this might be a less of an issue for me
this video is very good but decorating is a huge aspect in the game let alot the fact new content creator have not reached the farming/flowers aspect of this game where now the devs are banking on you doing. Honestly wait a couple more months to see how creators react to the game play further down to really see for yourself if it's for you
AC was too much for my when it comes to terraforming and decorating towns. My town still looks like a potato even after 200 hours gameplay 😭

The roller coaster ride definitely got my eyes feeling wonkey 😂, and I hardly get motion sickness. That aside though this game has everything I look forward to in most games like exploring, foraging, discovering; etc. I played till I couldn’t progress any further today which was about 11hrs 😅. The next game days will definitely be shorter, today was the grind lol

@ilexdiapason animal crossing has no stopping points whereas HKIA and cozy grove will have quest that say come back tomorrow and if you don’t have friendship blossoms and island bouquets you run out of things to do until the next day.
Just a quick fiy: you are not locked to gifting one things at a time. Eventually when you have more friendship with the characters you can gift multiple things at a time. I think the idea behind that is that when you first start, in theory you don’t have a lot of resources and therefore not a lot of things to gift? Not sure but just know it gets better for that

Hello! Been playing HKIA in Apple Arcade since day one. To move in a visitor you have to put the furniture and things they are asking for into a cabin and then wait. If the cabin fits the requirements they might visit the island the next day. If you want to increase the chances of them appearing you can put in the cabin items that have the same icon as the visitors likes icon. If you want them to stay permanently you’ll need them to visit five times and complete the requests they make when they visit. That’s weird that on Switch they have it that you can only gift or craft one at a time. But if I understand correctly the Switch version is very behind the Apple Arcade version so it might be that that quality of life feature hasnt been added in the current build.

@ That’s odd, none of the daily quests was one from him? When you get a visitor one of the daily quests gets replaced by that visitor’s quest. And once you finish it tells you that your star rating with that visitor increased.

Oh dear. The camera thing might be a deal breaker! I’m so sad!! I like to be able to control the camera and the top down view sometimes and the fast changes in camera angles, does not look fun …but I everything else I LOVE!

I just found out today that the visitors won't move in until you're better friends with them. I had Daniel yesterday and today Mimmy came and she said "I could see myself living here if we were better friends." So I think once you hit a certain level with them after they visted x amount of times and you've completed their request when they visit each time then you'll unlock a high enough star level with them for them to actually move to the island.

yeah the loading screen issue is also a thing on pc, except the screen its just hello kitty floating with balloons. i suppose it has to do with how many things the game has to load? like all the places and characters and stuff?
also the screen pov manipulation thing becomes a real problem in the puzzles. like, you have to jump in blocks that are not at the same direction as your pov and you keep missing them

I've played this game for about 4 hours yesterday. I love it! The play is simple, the art style is great and it's not hard (I haven't found anything hard yet at least). I'm a horsy animal and I look like a zebra. I think it's so cute.
That 1/4 of a wheel is an actual wheel. When you run out of stamina in one wheel, the little 1/4 will completely fill the main wheel again.
Yes 100% you can use the 1/4 and once you have 4 of them, it becomes a full second wheel

For the moving in thing, they wont always move in right away. My melody tells you they won't always be there. Also during thwt tutorial, check it regularly. You have to taok to buy an item and then talk to her THEN decorate the cabin.
it's a shame that it's 1. a daily game and 2. the same price as a hefty game like BG3 (if you don't want to be behind everyone else). there's something sinister about it that i just don't trust. i bet i would have fun with it for a while, but i struggle to do dailies for very long and prefer to play at my own pace (which is more like 8 hours some days and 0 hours others). it would be worth it for me at like, $10 regular game, maybe $20 deluxe which still feels overpriced but worth it. anyway thanks for your review miss bubbles i always love the things you point out that others don't!

I am obsessed with this game!!! I’ve played for hours on my iPad (with no complaints so far) but I started over today on my switch because I much prefer that. It did take me a minute to realize gifting wasn’t optional though like other games, and necessary for advancing the story. But I don’t mind it, I always have plenty of stuff for them! I love all the biomes and how cute everything is 😭 also I tend to get motion sickness but for some reason this game doesn’t bother me, thank god! Lastly I don’t have time to play daily though so I feel like I miss stuff haha, I’m not sure if that’s true or not
You would miss getting the flowers and bouquets and also event items but it would not be a problem if you don't care much about 100% collecting everything

When Daniel was moving in, I put 3 furniture down and nothing happened, I left the house, then I went back and added furniture again (I don’t think I even added it) but it triggered the quest and when I left the menu it was done.
For the gifting my understanding is after higher friendship levels you can gift three gifts all at once
I have been on the fence on getting this, and it looks like my type of game. Will have to see about getting it sometime. I love the Sanrio characters and absolutely enjoy exploring and puzzles. I hope they do some of the fixes though cause the camera does seem to be a little annoying.

THANK YOU for mentioning motion sickness! I bought it on Steam at launch and within 1 hour I got a headache and it did not feel good looking at the screen, I refunded and was maybe hoping it would feel better on Switch with a smaller screen?
I notice when I play in handheld it doesn't bother me as much as it does in docked mode, but remember we all have unique cases of what triggers our motion sickness. So what might be tolerable for me might be a disaster waiting to happen for you 🥹

I had a trial for Apple Arcade and loved this game but had a hard time playing daily, and I use my phone/ipad every day without fail and still struggle with infinity Nikki so don’t think I can do the daily play :(
I was like oh I'll get the standard version because I personally love a good resource grind... and then I found out it used irl time. Yeah no if I get I'll get the deluxe, I don't want to have to wait a set amount of days to get items 😭

I usually get motion sickness when playing Minecraft (even when turning off the bobbing feature and tweaking the settings) or similar games… but I’ve been playing HKIA since it started on Apple Arcade, and I haven’t had any motion sickness issues with it.
Not saying it doesn’t happen! But it might not happen to everyone.

Yes! I slowly got used to it cause I now know when the camera is going to move crazily so I expect it rather than have it catch me off guard like when I first started playing
You get an entire second wheel of stamina, not a quarter. It's great once you get 2 pips. Climbing is fun then.
Each apple gives 1/4. 4 apples give an entire second wheel.

You had me really wanting the game until you mentioned the motion sickness bit. Yeaaaah that's gonna be a hard no for me unfortunately 😔. Hopefully they update the game at some point and add an option to zoom out and control the camera.
Thank you for the good and bad it looks cute but given what you've said I won't be getting it. I'll stick to Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. I might get it when I get the Switch 2 and have more time and have more time and money. After all, I bought myself a Swich just for Animal Crossing. So I've had it for four years and a couple days come March.

Yes you can customise your house and the visitor's cabins once they become permanent residents
