  • I composed this Symphony to show the process of life and how it develops until you would die. This symphony is constructed in 5 movements: Movement 1 (Childhood), Movement 2 (Youth), Movement 3 (Adulthood), Movement 4 (Middle Life), and Movement 5 (Old Age).
In the First Movement, it is dedicated to the childhood of children from ages 3-15 years old. This movement is also broken down into 5 different parts, the first one being from when you're born to when you are 3 years old. The second one being from when you are 3 years old to 6 years old. The third one being from 6 years old to 9 years old. The fourth one being from 9 years old to 12 years old. And the fifth one being from 12 years old to 15 years old. This movement is filled with joy and happiness.
In the Second Movement, it is dedicated to youth years of someone’s life, from ages 15-20 years old. This movement is filled with sad, happy and confusing moments.
In the Third Movement, it is dedicated to the Adulthood years of someone’s life, from ages 20-40 years old. This movement is filled with fast-pacing moments and proud moments.
In the Fourth Movement, it is dedicated to the Middle life of someone’s life from ages 40-60 years old. In this movement it is showing that people are losing their strengths, it is slowing down throughout the whole movement. This movement is filled with fast pacing moments, and slow moments.
In the Fifth Movement, it is dedicated to the Old age of someone’s life from 60 years old to when you die. This movement is showing a lot of different moments and feelings. In this movement it shows that the person that is dying is remembering the best moments of their life, in this case I’m rewriting the best parts of each movement to represent that. The whole movement is also slowing down the whole time. When remembering the best part of the movements, they are separated by a caesura. In the first caesura, you can imagine yourself closing your eyes and remembering the best moment from the first movement, and in the second caesura, you stop remembering the best moment and open your eyes and realize that you are dying and your back to reality. This idea repeats until the last caesura and the end of the best moment of the fourth movement. This movement is filled with sadness and sentimental moments. To represent the heartbeat the bass drum played the heartbeat for most of the movement. Hope you enjoy my First symphony. Thank You.

Quite an impressive undertaking. Not too many people would write an hour-long piece, so this is extra impressive. I love how it starts off with the idyllic warmth and safety of being an infant. And then captures the curiosity of the world as a toddler. Then as it goes into childhood it shows how the world is a wonderful place to explore and adventure but also a big and scary world, but that it's always going to be okay because the adults will take care of us. And as the piece goes on how the world is less of an adventure but there's more reward and opportunities. The world is just as scary but a different kind of scary. I especially had fun listening to the part that captures my age category - middle age. I loved this!
