I read this earlier this year, since I've heard it be compared to one of my favorite books Lolita. While it doesn't have Nabokov's mastery of language, I thought it was a deeply compelling book on its own merit. Also really sad as you say in regards to its content. Definitely one of my favorites of the year, though not one for the squeamish.
Agreed! 💯❤️ I still think about this book all of the time
One of the most impactful books I’ve read in recent years to be sure (or ever?)
I read this a few years ago when it first came out, and it has stayed with me. I thought it was brilliantly done.
I don’t see any similar books topping it!
I'm in the mood for darkness. Reading this and Bakker at the same time will definitely get me there. 😂
That’ll do it yep 😂

Yeah it’s definitely a book one has to be in the right mindset for!
