Yes! I’ve been saying forever that Raoul and the Kings of Spain needs a vinyl pressing! Absolutely underrated. Great, great record.
SERIOUSLY. C'mon.
I LOVE when you make these videos. Hopefully the vinyl Gods are listening to your pleas!
Thank you 😁
Your final album on the list made me laugh out loud. I’m surprised it’s not on vinyl. I would love to own it! Now I have to look up the commercial on UA-cam
Soak it in
My go-to answers to this question have unfortunately been the same for years and years:
Suzanne Vega: Nine Objects of Desire
Jonathan Wilson: Frankie Ray
Yann Tiersen: Le Fabuleux Destin D'Amélie Poulain score
Some of my favorites I have on CD but wish they were on vinyl:
Linda Ronstadt’s Feels Like Home, We Ran, Western Wall, and Adieu False Heart.
Joni Mitchell’s Turbulent Indigo, Taming the Tiger, Hits, and Misses.
Robin Foster’s Where Do We Go From Here.
Sarah Brightman’s Diva, La Luna, Eden, Time to Say Goodbye, and Harum
Chris Isaak’s Baja Sessions.
Aimee Mann’s Lost in Space and The Forgotten Arm.
Marianne Faithfull’s A Secret Life
Seal’s Human Being
True story. I was arrested for having a piece of rolling paper with resin on it in my pocket after a Rusted Root concert in 1997. They did not send me on my way but instead I spent a night in jail.
LOL
We absolutely need every Morphine album on vinyl ASAP.
Let's GOOOOOO
@@TooManyRecords Twinemen should also be mentioned. After Mark Sandman died, Morphine formed into Twinemen. Laurie Sargent joined the surviving members of Morphine and they had a similar sound with a bit more of a trip-hop tinge. Their first 2 records are underrated gems. I was literally talking to Laurie last weekend about wanting to facilitate a pressing of their debut album.. I'm at least going to try and remix a track or two...
Part of being a kid in the 90s was falling asleep on the couch and waking up to a Pure Moods commercial at 2:00am
LOL. You should be so lucky!
Uh...uh....ah...uuuuhhhhhhh
I’ve been WAITING for hellogoodbye. So weird there’s been nothing on that one.
Lol imagine trying to clear Action Bronson - Contemporary Man. 😂
P.O.D. - Fundamental Elements of Southtown never got pressed.
Oleander - February Son and Unwind... Pure nostalgia, but it's the ones that I think of.
Oof, this is a neverending list. The first two albums by Aimee Mann, This Fire by Paula Cole, Scarlet's Walk by Tori Amos (though it seems like it's being released on September?), Get Away From Me by Nellie McKay, Turbulent Indigo and Taming The Tiger by Joni Mitchell, Lay It Down by Cowboy Junkies, Reload by Tom Jones... And the list goes on and on and on...
The Dead Milkmen- Soul Rotation
The first two Jucifer albums
the self titled Voivod album with Jason Newstead on bass
The Flaming Lips comp Scratching The Door and the b-sides disc from the deluxe edition of the Greatest Hits album
Lucinda Williams - Sweet Old World (she rerecorded the songs so I suspect the reason it hasn't been done might be a lost master or the rights to it are with a label that wants too much money for it)
Sublime - 40 Oz To Freedom with all the songs (it's been pressed but without two songs and with edited versions of other songs)
I agree, please give us Chris Cornell "Carry On" on vinyl!!!
Black Sabbath "The Dio Years" compilation and Lenny Kravitz "It Is Time For Love Revolution" are also on my list!!!
The last two albums from the band Tram.
Amélie Soundtrack by Yann Tiersen (2001)
Dream It Down by Underground Lovers (1994)
No Light in August by Tami Hart (2000).
Herb Alpert and the Tijuana brass - whipped cream and other delights has never been on vinyl. A lot of people don’t know that.
damn, facts
ua-cam.com/video/zywOg4JhmYQ/v-deo.html
Here it is being reviewed on vinyl. Maybe it was available in some territories?
Screaming Bloody Murder by Sum 41 is the only LP of their discography that has not been on vinyl according to Discogs.
Only a matter of time I think... how is that one? I haven't heard it.
@@TooManyRecords I agree, especially with them disbanding in the next year or so. It's okay. But I haven't absolutely loved anything since Underclass Hero.
Good list 📃
From a nostalgic point of view, my most wanted albums on vinyl are:
Take That: The Circus (2008)
The Prince of Egypt soundtrack (Hans Zimmer)
Doctor Who Series 4 soundtrack (Murray Gold)
They recently pressed the Doctor Who series 5 soundtrack which I was amazed by. It sounds incredible 😍
Dude! I have a copy of pure moods in my car. I play it all the times to annoy my friends and they all end up liking it. I have always hoped for a pressing. Maybe one day 🤞. Nice vid dude. Take care.
No one can resist Pure Moods
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Coming out of their shells. I even contemplated ordering a custom version and have designed the covers and labels.
Hello Matt ! We need videos like this. Those missing albums in your collection is like a dull , rusty knife in your heart. Of course there’s Cd’s and streaming , but : all or nothing. A sidenote could add the albums that need a reissue. Some bands/artists in the 90’s released small batches of their Cd albums on vinyl that are near impossible to find , and if you do , they cost an eye , a kidney and a fully functional lung.
Good point about RSD - why not release some of these albums instead of represses of albums that people already own. Oh yes Pure Moods. I still have that CD somewhere.! Cheers Matt ! 🙏
Alblums that were never pressed onto vinyl (either unifficoially or never pressed)
The Rentals - Return Of The Rentals and Seven More Minutes (ROTR has a bootleg and was planned but never came into fruition)
Darkle - Birds, Bees and Sweaty Palms
Alexander Larsenanko - Noir
Some of PUSA’s albums never got pressings (mainly Pure Frosting and Love Everybody, etc.)
Many Of Tally Hall members solo outputs (Not A Trampoline, etc.)
Rivers Cuomo - Alone ll and lll
There’s more but that’s all I have to name.
Pure Moods is a core memory; if not the comp itself (which of course I had on CD), then the commercial for it, which is forever burned in my brain lol. I agree with everything on your list, especially NFG and Hello Goodbye (surprise, surprise). One of my biggest wants that’s never been pressed to vinyl is Eve 6 It’s All in Your Head. Also the live Bright Eyes album Motion Sickness, which is amazing and even has covers of Mushaboom and The Biggest Lie!
Size 14! Never had a pressing....
Immediately my mind went to Skillet's Comatose. Not only is it my favourite album of all time, but the fact that there's no bootleg or official press blows my mind. One day I'll make a one off, but it'll be down the line. It's the same with Collide - no press. Why?!
Skinny Puppy did a bunch of Reissues but "The Process" is only on CD or cassette. They played a track off that album at their last live performance ever too (Hardset Head).
80% of Rap Albums from the 90s never got a vinyl release to many Southern and Westcast albums easily 100 albums I would like to see pressed on vinyl. Mariah Carey needs to do another vinyl run of like 10k to 15k copies of all here album on vinyl again and not for $50 each.
The 90s rap that DID get pressed is mad expensive. Finally just got an OG Gravediggaz 6 feet deep now that it’s gone down in price slightly since the VMP reissue !
Trey Anastasio - self titled
Everyone is here - The Finn Brothers.
Such a beautiful album.
Also Neil Finn's 2 solo records, Try Whistling This and One Nil.
"Ari Thunda - Licenced to dance".
Norwegian house, trance, electronic album combined with folk music (Hal Berg)
Reminds very much of Röyksopp.
It’s a shame that Tremendous Sea of Love by Passion Pit has never been on vinyl, but the recent Gossamer reissue has made me excited about the possibility of it getting a vinyl release sometime in the near future
The world is in dire need of some fishmans long season pressings
Fishmans box set pleaseeeee
My big two missing vinyl editions are Ghostland Observatory - Paparazzi Lightning and Curve - Come Clean
When you mentioned Del Amitri’s “Twisted”, I almost shed a tear! It’s too pricey on Discogs and there’s no reason to not press it! This band has been touring for the last few years. And don’t get me started on Tears for Fears “Raoul & the Kings of Spain”! Damn, I want that record. But the top of the list for me is Neil Finn’s “Try Whistling This”. There have been hints of a pressing but no results yet. Please, please, please! 🧡🎶🧡
I wish they would press The Tea Party - Triptych. And I would also like to have Tal Bachman for the song “If you Sleep”. It reminds me of one of my favourite movies, Here on Earth! 😊😊
Faith and Courage by Sinéad O'Connor from 2000. Amazing album that sadly has never seen vinyl. Although it has come close in the past through Runout Groove.
I have a promo 7” Chumbawamba single with Tubthumping and Amnesia on the b-side.
The closest we'll come..
Almost all of Chris Whitley's Catalog (War Crime Blues, Weed, Hotel Vast Horizon, and Soft Dangerous Shores). At least I can't find them.
What about the Godsmack catalog. Barely any of their stuff is on vinyl. Great video!
The Morphine albums were the two they released for Dreamworks Records. I assume they are locked up in some sort of hellscape since Dreamworks was folded into Geffen in the early 2000s. That being said, they are high up on my wish list as well.
Maybe it's not exactly classic, but I still think they should release The Yellow Shark by Frank Zappa on vinyl. Was his last album and his best orchestral piece. Excellent album and deserves a vinyl press.
Kenna - New Sacred Cow
There are a few albums I want to finally get an official vinyl pressing.
HIM's sixth studio album Venus Doom (2007) I need it to complete the collection.
Toki Wright and Big Cats! - Pangaea (2014) one of my favourite hip hop albums.
oh and anything by Danny Schmidt especially third album Parables & Primes (2005)
I would love some Rusted Root on vinyl. That album is so good. You got to check it out. Very unique band.
I'm tempted to listen to the whole thing
anything by Deadsy (yes they did a preorder for phantasmagore and never released it)
I so badly want “Rock Spectacle” by Barenaked Ladies on vinyl.
Also “Lost Songs” by David Gray
poe's 'hello' had finally got a press this last RSD which was my #1 vote for a while, and last month savage garden's self titled did as well.
the main one on my mind would be lindsey buckingham's (of fleetwood mac) 'under the skin' - some of his best solo work though never a press on vinyl.
The industry loves pressing Fleetwood adjacent stuff...
Yeah I wish they would reprint Out of Exile & Revelations and also yes print some albums of Chris Cornell that were never done.. His stuff Is so collectible and the price keeps going up.
Definitely that Hellogoodbye album but here's some more.
OneRepublic's first two albums. Blue October's early albums. Rooney - Calling The World. Making April - The Egg Hunt.
Also, probably too many soundtracks to name.
Oh yeah Soundtracks is a BIG rabbit hole I didn't tackle.
There are so many but 10,000 Maniacs - Unplugged & Metallica - Live Shit are on top of my list.
i need the score for 25th Hour by terrence blanchard, now god damn it, now!!! why the hell did these people take away 2pac's Late Night?? that was a gem with dj quick. very upsetting to me.
Whiskeytown, Faithless Srreet.. A few of Justin Towns Earl both I would love if someone would would do a great remaster.
Definitely those Sister Hazel and Tal Bachman should be on vinyl. Would love Chumbawamba too. Sister Hazel recently released their album “Chasing Daylight” on lp.
Some more albums I would like to see get th wax treatment:
- That Thing You Do Soundtrack
- Deadeye Dick - New Age Girl
- SR-71 - Now You See Inside
- Rock Kills Kid - Nervous
I was just reminded of Right Now on the 4th of July when someone played it on a playlist and it's a great track! I immediately went to see if there was a pressing, sure enough, nope.
First time watching your channel. None of the records you mention do anything for me. Of course I am older, but to me all music released in the 1990s and beyond are either CD or digital only... and should remain that way. Some of the titles you mention are marginal to me, and I don't think they'd sell, not in the inflated out of this world vinyl prices that are SO EXPENSIVE it makes full priced CDs a bargain based item. I guess what I am teed off about is the fact that vinyl prices have skyrocketed since 2020. I hate it.
Welcome to the channel!
Deadsy - Commencement
Deadsy - Phantasmagore
Orgy - Candyass
Orgy - Punkstatik
Orgy - Vapor Transmission
Art Bergamann S/T and What Fresh Hell is This?
Raoul or Elemental would be amazing for RSD. Nice call out to RSD this is a no brainer 😉
They'll probably do Elemental and leave Raoul still without any kind of press -_-
Collective Soul - Dosage
Hanson - Middle of Nowhere
I’m pretty sure Sister Hazel is working on pressing all of their albums eventually. We just got Chasing Daylight this year… why they chose that album and to not start at the beginning is beyond me. I’m with you in regard to Chris Cornell’s Carry On, where is it???! Scream actually has an official release and not just a bootleg. I’m big into a band called 10 Years who started back in 2003. I would love to see their albums Division and From Birth To Burial get the wax treatment. I also check every so often for a press of Rusted Root’s When I Woke just in case a release slips by me. I was surprised you mentioned this album, and yes, the entire album is great. Wore out the CD back in the 90’s. Oh, and how about the rest of Collective Soul’s discography… Dosage, Youth, Blender, Afterwards and Self Titled #2…
I'm 90% sure that Scream that isn't listed as bootleg is actually a bootleg.
@@TooManyRecords Yeah, you’re probably right.
Stakka Bo - Supermarket
gwar - violence has arrived. every other gwar album has 32 variants... this one, NOTHING and it's my favorite
Breaking Benjamin Phobia has never been on vinyl, which blows my mind personally. Also, Blue October's album Foiled is not available on vinyl. Taproot's Blue-sky research has never been on vinyl. Chevelle Hats off to the Bull album and La Gargola albums have never been on vinyl. Also, Staind's self titled album has never been on vinyl. Just to name a few .
Tool - 10,000 Days. For that matter, a proper pressing of Lateralus instead of the crappy picture disc. For that matter, REPRESS AENIMA!! At $1k for a copy it's effectively out of reach and unavailable for most people -_-
The fact that there's no Tool box set at this point is the most confusing thing in the industry IMO
@@TooManyRecords Agreed 100%. A long while back I heard somewhere that there's a contract/management dispute or some other sort of money litigation that's been tying up those records for years, don't remember where I heard or read it but there must be some truth to it as it's otherwise unfathomable those late 90s-mid 2000s records aren't more widely repressed. Might do some internet sleuthing and see if I can uncover more info about it
I need my name is my name by pusha T and without warning by 21 savage pressed
Tesla - Bust A Nut
Good one!
None of the albums in the Banana Jones discography have been pressed to vinyl either 🤯
Wait, solo OR with the Slick Peels?
As far as I know Spirit of the sixties also did not
If an album was digitally recorded, mixed and mastered, is there really any point releasing it on an analog format like vinyl?
Absolutely. Often times records mastered for vinyl can sound better and more engaging than their CD/streaming counterparts, also partially due to the quality of someone's rig. Furthermore -- a lot of why people love vinyl is not about the sound specifically, it's about the ritual of sitting down and enjoying a record and all of the motions and experiences that come with it.
🤓
Wow, it's truly shocking that Taylor Swift's Red was never pressed on vinyl.
lmao
Garbage - Bleed Like Me
the 'channel ORANGE' vinyl 2×album by frank ocean already arrived a few days ago. i don't get why there's such a hype about some artists or albums. if i don't like the music, 'cause it's no good,
i'm not gonna buy the 7", 10", 12"copy, even i know the price will rise for that piece of shit music.
i want people listenin' to quality music, that's organic, meaningful, soulful, poetic, energetic, bouncy, tribal, funky, jazzy and HOUSE'ey.
Some albums should not be on vinyl. I mean Daft Punk on an lp? Digital music digital recording on a plastic disc. No.
Random Access Memories is considered by many to be one of the best modern sounding records period. This is factually incorrect.
