Story time!
Two immortal sisters, the Queen of Light and the Queen of Darkness, both fell in love with a mortal man. They both didn't know about each other's crush on him - as they lived worlds apart, and only visited him during their own time (night and day) - and both blessed him with their powers, both making him immortal. Because of the blessings of both sisters, he became even stronger than them, and he became the immortal Diamond. Once the sisters found out they had both blessed him, they immediately realised his strength was almost endless. So, in the video, they both try to win him over for their side, but he isn't in love with either of the sisters. Which will he choose, darkness or light? His decision will decide the fate of the world. Will darkness take over, leaving an infinite night? Or will he choose light, and flood the earth with endless light? He cannot choose, hence why night and day are both still here. He tries to make a decision, and in winters, he is more drawn to the Darkness sister, making the days short and the nights long. In the summers, he favours the Light sister, making the days longer and warmer.
EDIT: So a lot of people have been asking if they can use this concept for their stories, and I'm okay with that! As long as you credit me: I'm @tryingandfailingandlearning on Tumblr, and FelixIsQueer on Reddit and AO3. And yes, it's a completely original story, I made it up on a whim two years ago.

Story: The Boy and the light girl fell in love, however, the dark girl got jealous, and used her enchanting voice to try and manipulate him into loving her. However, the light girl would not give up without a fight. She sang the song she and the boy made together. However, the dark girl sang her song to, the song that no one could resist. He gave in and followed her to the portal. Heartbroken, the light girl sang the final line to their song. Then he broke free of the dark girls curse and tried to get back to her, but it was too late. The portal sucked him in. The dark girl laughed and said "looks like the bad guys can win big sister" and went through the portal before it closed.

A fact that I only recently realized: this mashup isn't completely nightcore - only Darkside is sped and pitched up to match Ignite's tempo and pitch.
