Man this scene is still creepy AF, from the way that the kids in the class room seemed to be in some sort of time frozen stupor, to the unnatural way Tina(Nancy's friend) moves in the body bag, to the way Krueger taunts nancy with Obvious clues that she's having a nightmare, Wes Craven was brilliant.
@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 I thought it was cool but also too much so? lol. I thought the whole problem with the remake was that it kinda lacked the organic, off-kilter dreamlike qualities of a lot of the source material

Leslie Hoffman had the perfect look to play the creepy hallguard that asked for the pass. Of course once you see the sweater you realize its Freddy screwing around in Nancy's dream, but I always thought her creepy facial features strongly resembled him at "No running in the hallways" That creepy scene always stuck as a child. She definitely own that one.
I always thought that Nancy was just a little too nonchalant-curious for all the creepy, horrific - and yes - nightmarishly ambiguous stuff that ensued in this scene. Wes Craven sure knew how to make us shit our pants... Rest in Power
I watched this film first time when i was 8 it scared the crap out of me i still think nightmare on elm street is one of the creepiest horror films ever made i love the concept with the nightmares because u never knew when it was
I've always loved this scene. They don't make em like they use to. Hollywood is too lazy now with all the CGI. Nothing is exciting or creepy anymore in horror movies.
This scene in the movie is one of the best. First, because in 1984 it confused the viewer quite a bit between reality and dream. Second is the game of Fred Kruger, who initially scares his victims by playing with them. Of course the scene where Nancy sees Fred Krueger in the hallway in female form, but stops running from him, is a big question. Finally, the film managed to reach the top without supernatural graphics, like the later ones.
I saw it in the cinema in '84. Loved it. Loved Freddy. Thought: cool, another super-villan. How many films did the 3 franchises make - 30? 40? 1. Michael Myers 2. Jason 3. Freddy
I accidently walked in on my father watching this movie.. Literally scared me so bad as a child that I was afraid to go upstairs alone for years. I should be able to sue
Her scene was short but memorable. I wonder if cocaine kept her bound. Why she wasn't added in part 3 as a recall is beyond me; but NewLine Cinema was very particular about this franchise; which is completely understandable. I heard Stephen King even wrote a script for one of the sequels and was turned down.
Does anyone think Freddy has multiple personality disorder or something? He does a total mood 180 here, going from haunting Nancy to playing a practical joke in the matter of a few seconds.
Yeah, but he just randomly goes from doing one thing, haunting Nancy with the death of her friend, to something completely different, acting like the hall monitor, and Nancy doesn’t even really take it seriously, because when Freddy asks “Where’s your pass”, her response is “Screw your pass”.
"Oh God, I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a king of infinite space... were it not that I have bad dreams." I've never heard Shakespeare quoted more terrifyingly.
The better days of Horror. People are way to sensitive for horror movies like this they would most likely try to cancel a horror movie made like this within the first few weeks of its release Smh 🤣
CGI ruined creativity … nothing is over done .. it’s underdone if anything and allows the viewer to discover the horror right along with her. I mean … top 5 horror classics … could even be THEY creepiest horror film ever made … right next to Evil Dead … you never ever forget the first time you watched it
They really need to do a new nightmare on elm street with heather langenkamp they did it with jaime lee curtis for halloween why not bring back heather for a nightmare on elm street trilogy.
Not one scene can you tell his sweater is green not one. Please tell where you can tell. You’re such an emphasis on the red and green together is hard to look at.
Poor Nancy she can run in My Hallway and she can run in The Hallway from My Clone Warriors Sander Jedi Knight and Sander Jedi Apprentice and Sander Sith Apprentice and Starwarsplayer98 as UA-camr Clone and Red Sander as Good Different Clone too if she wants and Tina from one of the Friday The 13th Movies can run in our Hallway either as many times if she wants

@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 To each his own! I think a lot of the early 2010s movies were done in by some need to look so serious and "edgy"

It is scary as sh&^!
Same here!

Yes, it was so unsettling. I’m glad I’m not the only one
The SCARIEST scene in this series. Tina haunted me for years.
"Tee na-na-na"
You have to admit! The soundtrack makes all of the nightmares in this movie creepy as heck!
watched this when i was 5 in 1985. Messed me up forever! Good times!
That sound effect that happens after she says "no running in the hallway" is chilling
still one of my all time favorite scenes for Freddy-

This part gave me more nightmares than any other scene in the film.
This scene is 100% of the reasons why bodybags give me the absolute creeps. Nothing to do with them containing dead bodies, it’s purely this scene

Nancy was so gorgeous in the 80’s
What a great scene. Love the leaves that appear.
Just goes to show you, while Freddy was certainly flanderized as the series went on, he still had quite a goofy side even in the original film!
The 1984 body-bag scene remains more surreal & unreal than the 2010 body-bag scene.
This is one of my favorite parts along with the remake version.
