I was in grade 3 when my family moved from India to Vancouver. I remember my dad re-certifying for his engineering job. Although, I was very young that is what I remember from part of our struggle. He studied day and night while supporting his family. You gotta do what you gotta do. I am now in my 30's and so grateful for my parents to have given my brother and I the life that I hope I can provide my children with one day :).

Honestly, 😢 tears started flowing when I read your comment "that you still remember, cherish and expressing" what your parents did for you may god bless you and your parents. Actually the biggest blow to a man is when his very own family does not honour and acknowledge what the hardship he is doing for his family, in fact a father has to die several times to give his family the future and prosperity he aims to give. Please 🙏take good care of your parents specially the father as he would not ask you for any thing, but you would have to give.... stay blessed...

The problems that your guests described are experienced by most native-born Canadians. I have had problems finding a place to live. Getting a job for someone born here is not necessarily easy, depending on your abilities, and where you live. As for food, I find it difficult to find good restaurants too. Good, authentic Chinese food is very hard to find. Normally you get crappy Canadian versions of Chinese food. In areas that have many immigrants, you will easily find vegetables, spices etc. and good restaurants from India and China. As one of your guests stated, even though you might have been high-status in India, that does not mean you are entitled to be high-status in Canada. There is racism in every country, but Canada does not have a caste system. Most wealthy Canadians had to do it on their own, they did not inherit their jobs or their wealth. If you decide you don't want to assimilate and just keep your habits from your home country, don't expect your new country to change to suit you. If I went to India, or Japan, or France, I highly doubt that I could just take any job I wanted, and live wherever I wanted. I'm sure that I'd need French experience if I immigrated to France. Nobody is holding a gun to your head, and forcing you to come to Canada. So stop complaining, or return from whereat thou came (ICE Paradise).

Living in canada is not so easy if you are not in torronto. Most of places are under severe cold wave like -40 and -50 degree and that also for many months.only in summer you can go outside with warm clothes else rest of the year life is like Escimo.
Due to such condition local population is low and provinences want people outside bear those hard life and contribute to tax.
Toronto is too pricey and with 2 kids for a family saving is poor.
So better settle permanently rather planning come to india with great saving.just forget it.
By the way, thanks to these couple for sharing practical views. They are very honest and to be appreciated.

This video clearly sums up the challenges almost every newcomer to Canada faces. It's actually very hard to leave all the comforts in your home country to start afresh in a foreign nation without knowing by when you'll get settled. This video like other videos on this channel is very relatable. But at the end puts in a dilemma, whether to move or not.

I am little surprised to watch this video. Coz firstly haven't you pple checked the job market before you come? Secondly if you had a decent job and had a upper middle class life why did you immigrate to Canada? In Canada you will need at least 2 years to get a decent job unless you hv a friends network or job offer. If a new person come to India will you offer apartments without any history? What abt bachelors in India will you rent them right away? Why don't you look into your mistakes b4 pointing out others? I am not telling what you facing now is right but be prepared to any situations b4 you move to a new country like Canada. My suggestion is if you hv possibilities to visit Canada and check the conditions b4 you immigrate it will be much easier

@@elaine03812 true that. Imagine I have 10 years of experience in India and then I spend another 10 years to gain that experience back in Canada. I loose my entire life running for the same work I have done in the past and I reach 50 by then where I feel I should retire and enjoy my life. I think it's better to stay in India and grow in that sense.

Almost everyone said finding a job in Canada is main struggle. But considering the new immigration programs which are available now for new immigrants finding a job and finding a place to live is not a problem. According to me surviving in new country is big challenge over there. Surviving to the new climate, in the new community, transport and food are the really big struggles for the new immigrants...

What are the various ways by which you can make a good credit history n how long does it take? Meanwhile, where to go n how to find a job / accommodation without credit history? Plz make a video giving tips on this topic (with ref to students, families n people with small kids)

    • @paulh2468

It's pretty simple. Get a credit card. Use it. Pay it off in full every month. Try to stay in the same house or apartment for many years. try to keep the same job for a few years as well. I don't know how long it takes. You can ask at a bank or credit union.

Book your Arbnb for a month and not 8 days. I understand that coming from India it's expensive but you have to have that money to come to Canada. Job may take at least 2-3 months. That is why Canadian immigration is recommending bringing Can $10K for one person plus $1000 for each additional person. So a couple should come with at least Can. $11K.

I live in Canada, life is not easy as it seems. Lately it has become so competitive to get jobs, if u r in management field u r likely to get racial profiled by the employers, there is a virtual discrimination done to u even if u have loads of exp or master's degree. Software profession is bit opposite if u have programming and technical skills u might get by. Especially in Toronto it has become a mess with high cost of living and over crowded.

Why would a landlord rent to anyone who doesn't have a job? If you can't pay are you going to move? In Ontario the laws protect the tenants and you can stay and live rent free until they evict you, which would take months. There is very little recourse for landlords to collect rent that is owed. Please put some context to why it might be difficult for anyone to rent in Canada let alone new immigrants.

It's truly frustrating that you're asked for experience when you have just landed. What I had done was to reiterate that I have just arrived so I couldn't have NZ experience unless someone allowed me to have it! It was hard initially to get past that horseblinkered approach! But once someone gets it, you're in. So stick around and don't quit.

Very informative video. As an immigrant, we face a lot of challenges. But, that what makes us strong.

You don't face greater challanges than the natives. Immigrants has the same rights as Canadians, so the game is equal.
