Man what a pain you went through. The serial number on my kayak was just a sticker and it peeled off long before I thought about putting a motor on it. Fast forward 2 years I got it all ready to go only to find out I had no serial number anywhere, and no paperwork for the kayak, so I emailed the company and they sent me a certificate of origin. I brought it into the tpwd office in garland, tx the game warden warden came out looked at it, and gave me one of their department numbers instead of the original ones I had. $25 for inspection $59 for registration and i was good to go. Took a little over 2 hours, i had 3 people ahead of me.

Originally I was told that they would issue me the number at the Texas Parks and wildlife office. Then they gave me the same old “ policies have changed routine” so obviously I had to go and get a number from the Kayak distributor issued from Texas Parks and wildlife to the Kayak manufacture. I don’t know why they just didn’t give me the number straight to me with proof of purchase. Bureaucratic Red tape?

Worthless govt in the way as usual. Abbot should get rid of some of this nonsense.
