Im just so conflicted in my heart. I hate that hes gone, hate that his brothers are going to be missing him, and hate that his absence is going to put everything that they love at risk. Gore was disabled, but that didnt make him any less important. His heart was 💯 , all the time. Never prevented him from being anything other than being a great brother, father, and often a solo protector . Always attentive to his brothers calls. , he was an amazing lion who lived another 3 yrs without feeling too sorry for himself. He knew his purpose, and he wasnt going to let them down. So thank you for these amazing photos of Gore and his family. Im going to screenshot them and think of how proud i am of him everytime his photo rolls up on my screensaver. I feel grateful to have known him for 3 years. 🕯Gore💥💫 Gemis
For Kambula Pride it will be a big tragedy if there come a take over. Really hope that the cubs can grow up with their fathers help. Hopefull greetings from Germany.
Well, yes and no. This stuff happens often out there, lion cubs have maybe a 50% mortality rate, male and female combined. Even after reaching the 3-year threshold, males still have a significant mortality rate--coalitions that stick together like glue have a better chance, but two very successful pairs have become established during the past 18 months. The Ndzengas, for all their efforts and maybe as many as two dozen cubs born to the Kambulas alone, have lost cubs as well as 2 "brothers." Some of their Kambula cubs might make it at least to good hunting age, about 2 years, before either the Gijimas or the Black Dam pair decide to seriously challenge the Ndzengas. Right now, the Gijimas are busy with two prides and their own cubs in one of those; the Black Dams are busy with the Talamti lionesses, the Tsalala lioness, and probably Kambula #6 too. So, a "big tragedy" might not involve a total loss of Ndzenga-Kambula cubs.
That is true, and I believe what you said, because it is the same situation the Birmingham’s male lions were in; when they were two still with some cubs that need it to grow. These male lions are still the most experienced and strongest in there I believe they are 8 years of age also the Kambulas with their cubs will also help the male lions against other lions to protect their cubs.
@@ochoaguillermo638 It could be a few weeks now, since I heard/saw that she's been mating with the Black Dams. She sometimes is mentioned when other lions are being talked about, of course, but I guess I'll have to look for very recent info/sightings.
Clubfoot protected his brothers and prides by himself what a male lion he was, knew he was outnumbered but still went in for a fight, legend. As for gore and the authorities not helping with that, that is an absolute disgrace as usual by that sub standard, criminal park which call themselves sabi sands, they profit of these animals, also let trophy hunters take there animals, just a cruel park
Understand its nature, but sad to think if this was Kruger the vets would have taken care of that. Not for or against vet care for wild animals but when your profiting of them kinda seems like something could of been done.
Excellent comments on a sort of lions tragedy, from four brothers down now to only two and so many cubs and lionesses to protect... Nice pictures as well, let's hope to see again and again this pride as it is now. 🤞🙏
Plains Camp is Fearsome Duo tho. They may only be 2 deep but they seem to be hyper aggressive. Like not the dudes you want to run into on a Buff Kill. Really hope Ndhezenga boys hold their territory and raise their cubs.
Yup, that they are. The Gijimas have been really showing their "stuff" in the same way in recent months too. And well, even sooner, the Gijimas got Uboso, and could be blamed for his death months later. Probably the biggest threat to the Ndzengas is east of the PCs, down through the middle of Sabi Sands: Black Dams; Gijimas are pretty busy farther southeast.
It's good that some things are made clear for the public here, even the image of Gore after the thing fell off. But, regarding the Ndzenga "takeover" from the Birminghams, some more needs to be pointed out for those who do not know, and there are probably many. Mala Mala didn't tell the public right away when the Ndzengas went up through MM in the first week of November in 2021. They "hit" the cub group of 3 original Kambulas with at least 10 Birmingham cubs. Tinyo (Birmingham) was with the cub group, guard duty, while Nhena was farther west with the subs and maybe 1 original Kambula--2 Kambulas had defected to the NAvocas earlier that year. After the first week in November, the Birmingham cub group was down maybe 7, the lionesses were described by Mala Mala as showing stress and some scratches, signs of a fight. Tinyo was missing. The last time on record of Tinyo and Nhena being seen together was around October 26, 2021. Tinyo was last seen alive near the KNP border late in November, or some weeks after the Ndzengas drove him from the cub group. In a Londolozi game drive video, Zeederburg reported hearing Mala Mala on the radio announcing the news about Tinyo near the KNP border. There is an image or two of a presumbably dead lion from later November/December of 2021. These images are from Mala Mala, most likely, but they couldn't/wouldn't tell the public if the carcass was definitely Tinyo. The dead lion was still a body in the image(s), NOT just bones, skin. So .... Another thing. When the Ndzengas got to the NAvocas, the evidence is that Mohawk pretty much allowed Blondie to be beaten up while he stayed a safe distance away. This might've happened a number of times during a couple of years with other lions, Blondie was usually the one displaying injuries. Well, this all probably is part of why Blondie is dead/gone while Mohawk is still doing okay, not much in the way of noticeable scars or any permanent injury. Nobody here needs to argue about anything I've said--it is NOT "opinion." Go find the information, because this stuff should all still be viewable from less than 3 years. If you know something else, provide a URL and I"ll be glad to accept the additional information.
You sound like your spot on. From what I remember and you did give more info then I knew. I know when Tinyo went missing but didn't catch the part about the Ndzenga males being part of that but that makes perfect sense. So again thank you!!
I always had the impression of the Ndzenga/Avoca fight was that the 2 Ndzengas caught Blondie alone and but Mohawk joined soon after hearing the clash and turned the tables. It makes more sense to me because I don’t believe Blondie, who was already losing condition with his paw injury and early stages of TB infection that he never recovered from, could fight the two Ndzengas alone and inflict that much damage. Mohawk was the biggest and fittest of the 4 in that fight, so it would make some sense that he could impose his will there.
@@blackice1796 You could be right, but it's likely that Mohawk "turned the tables" after Blondie had already taken most of the wrath and energy of the Ndzengas at the moment. I don't think Mohawk had any significant or noticeable new injuries/scratches right after this--and he probably would have. Mohawk might've made his presence clear and the Ndzengas changed their minds. They probably had not been sure before this just how many male lions were around. When faced with Mohawk and hearing Darkmane roaring in the distance, they decided to stop attacking Blondie and left without doing much visible damage to Mohawk. [Ndzengas] Amahle and probably Eorenji did have some unsightly puncture holes/scratches/etc., if I remember right. Blondie was most likely a very courageous and effective fighter. He probably took most of the worst in fights for several years. Internal infections/sepsis from wounds/TB and whatever eventually killed him.
Sad to hear this , Followed them , I wonder if the fragmented areas there and to many visiting affects them ? When does the film Kings of Sabi Sands come out? Is it really, completely "unscripted by nature"? I've heard A LOT of rumors over the years that you played a role in the demise of Kinky Tail and Mr. T. Feel like addressing those rumors?
Part 1-4 are already uploaded, covering the years 2000-2009. You'll find the clips in the playlist Lions of Sabi Sand. To your next question...The documentary is not primarily about the coalitions but also about the lion prides that have been effected by the comings and goings of male lions. I follow the timeline of the events and rely on the sightings and ranger reports at the time. In that regard the script has been written by nature. Question.... Who do you exactly refer to when you say "you played a role" and what rumors would that be ???
Another quick note needed: at the start of 2022, the Kambula/Ntsevu pride had 13 lionesses, 6 originals and 7 daughters. The cub group in Mala Mala contained 3 of these, probably originals, and the remaining Birmingham cubs. One of the adult lionesses rejoined the main pride group after her own cubs were dead. So, I didn't mean 13 Kambulas PLUS 3 more adult lionesses with the cub group.
You're right, they were once 13 lionesses at the beginning of 2023 !! Sadly two of the six original lionesses (K1+K4) are gone. K4 had been found on Mar 3, 2023 and the adult daughter of K2 had been found two days later. K1 has not been seen in several Months and is also presumed dead. The last two Birmingham subs who were 2y old, were killed by other males. One had been found in Ukumbe in Feb this year and the other died end of April /early May most likely due to an attack of the Ndzeghas.
@allaboutthelionsofsabisand2743: wish Kambula2 and her two subs joined the 4 Kambula males and the sister instead pr returning to the pride - the two subs would have greater chance of surviving and could have made a great breakaway pride. Oh if only wishes could always come true
@@ochoaguillermo638 That's a good question. I haven't seen anything for it being alive still. But, maybe there's something I dont know. The "reunion" was in Londolozi. You might've seen it? In video, a sub was mentioned rejoining with other pride members along with an aunt/maybe mom. I'll have to try to look into this, but .... Have to check the Mala Mala game report from June, July's in a week or so. But their counting is not always current or accurate, they don't see the same things as Londolozi people.
I just don’t think it will be that easy. Some lions have to cross other dominant male lions, and some are not ready they maybe too young and inexperienced and still need to grow. Then every thing has to do with chance. Chances are they will fight each other before fighting or ever getting to the Kambula prides. Other coalitions will fight other coalitions. Also once they are there in the Kambula pride territory they will and most likely be fighting them as well as they try to protect their cubs and the prime male lions which I think they are the oldest in their prime and peak around the area. Then if it ever gets to that point most coalitions are two and if it is two vs two I want to say a more experienced lion has the advantage and will act quickly and fast but then the chances are the other male lions maybe ready but after going trough many journeys. I can see them being around 1.5 more years and their cubs can get to sub adults.
Quick note: just to correct a glich in my message below: cubs were down TO 7, not 7 down, after the first week in November '21. So, no, the Ndzengas didn't kill 7 cubs at once. As some of you know, there was more attritition during the months following, maybe a couple more cubs lost by early '22, down to 2 in the second half of '22--please check in various places, because it's been awhile since I've read/seen it. By now, probably only 1 of these subs is still alive, probably reunited with other Kambulas along with mom or aunt. You all know about the deaths in the Kambula pride. Remember, this happens in TWO DIFFERENT game reserves, each one doesn't always see what the other one does, and you have to look at both, and other sources. Kambulas are sprawled between Londolozi and Mala Mala.
Unfortunately it looks like both subadult lionesses were killed. Around Feb 20, rangers of Ukumbe had found the remains of a youngish lioness that was most likely killed by PCM. Shortly after on March 2nd, the two adult Kambula-Breakaway lionesses were seen with only one subadult in Londolozi. At the beginning of May another subadult lioness had been found dead in Ukumbe. As far as I know there was no positive ID either, but sadly she is been missing for a couple of weeks now. It is been suspected, that the Ndzegha males killed her , based on the footprints rangers found in the area.
@@allaboutthelionsofsabisand2743 Thanks for the message and discussion. I plan to check into the May death, and to check again the Mala Mala game reports from the past couple of months. I assume you are talking about months in 2023 here. February. I assume you mean "Umkumbe Safari Lodge," which is south of Londolozi. This seems to be part of Sabi Sabi, and not Londolozi, correct me/provide information if I'm wrong. The PCM were probably never east and south of Singita after late 2020 and very early 2021. Please provide info/URL if you know something different. Probably the "youngish lioness" was killed by either the industrious Gijima males, the in-and-out Nkhulu males, OR maybe even the Ndzenga males--she was not their daughter, after all. But, as you know, the Styx pride has lost 3-4 cubs since later 2022, including 1-2 females. There were 3 male Styx cub-subs, now there is only 1, and he has 6 living sisters. So, the "youngish lioness" might've been Styx. March-April. Mala Mala reported 2 dead lionesses, dead a week apart. One of these was most likely 1/2 remaining Birmingham kids from the cub group. Also, you know that LONDOLOZI announced in a video that 1/6 ORIGINAL Kambula lionesses was dead, vultures were descending on her. I also saw in Londolozi video, probably Londolozi, where 2 lionesses had rejoined with some other Kambulas. These 2lionesses were the remains of the cub group from Mala Mala, the younger one could even be a male, the older one is either the mother or aunt. May. Yes, I believe still a third Kambula was pronounced dead, somewhere between March and May, by Mala Mala OR found in Umkumbe, as you say. This was NOT the lioness who died in Londolozi, of course. I'll have to do some checking, as I said. Kambula pride had 13 lionesses at the beginning of 2022, NOT including the cub grooup in Mala Mala. There were the original 6 Kambula/Ntsevus, plus 7 daughters. I'd say there are probably 10-11 of the 13 still alive, between Londolozi and Mala Mala, and maybe 1, but maybe none, as you say, of the cub group subs.
@@private4918 I plan to make a video about the deaths of the adult lionesses who were lost since March 2023. I have to do some research on that topic, that is why the clip won't be uploaded before next week. It may take even longer to gather all the information for this. There are many questions and no answers so far, but some of theses cases might be related. Therefore I have to do some homework,
Question , Aren’t the Plains Camp Boys some dominant take no prisoners bullies of that region now ? I know King Nhenha and his son / nephew hooked up and had attacked and killed some lioness’s of a pride I know that slipped my mind , They had auntie …. and a lone king that had left as the odds were not in his favor , Nhenha and partner let this so called victory over the lionesses charge up their egos and let the region know their herd now loudly , At first the Plains Camp Boys ran them off and they were back with their scent marking and roaring and it got bad as King Nhenha and his son / nephew got into a confrontation and the younger partner of Nhenha got away unscathed but king Nhenha got his mane ripped off a bit and beat up being alone and maybe other injuries like a front paw , To be attacked again as the PCM’S were frantically trying to scent them/him out all around and attacked him a second time , He emerged a week or so later at a buffalo carcass with a young lioness and subadult male that were of the group they killed the lionesses’s and he looking really skinny lived off his muscles and was in a ketosis state but ate and latex near after , Looked as if his rear left leg was broken or ? and he then had disappeared with many hoping he may re-emerge again , A body never found or the info kept away from everyone ? But many still had hood as things have happened before so ? The tribal leaders always when wanted the news of a lion said I must see a body or some proof ? Nothing to date ? I know what scavengers and even older week weak predators can do as with him showing he’s compromised and they even smell internal injuries at times , Hyenas ! We all hoped for a miracle ! Was there ever any news within the those who may know ? Have a good guess , But as I said some have left the territory and stole leopard kills to caught a meal by waiting by a warthog hole/ den if their wise as he and it wasn’t broken and took time to heal , 99.9 chance he’s gone , To many a hundred percent , My friend in Kruger who lives close across Crocodile bridge has heard nothing from his native friends including expert trackers ! Like clubfoot there was closure , The scavengers in my area leave little with bones snapped as a hyena can do for bone marrow , Hyenas actually are a feline . I didn’t know that growing up. Just what I gathered as I am no expert there but know my wildlife in the Sierra Nevadas in California, Northern especially , Not LA. by any means ! Though some wild areas are near there , Kevin
Yes, PCM are territorial and dominant over the Nkuhuma Breakaway lioness, the Mhangeni and the Ximunghwe pride. They did attack Nhena twice in early January and mauled him badly. The sighting of Nhena you just described was the last known sighting of him being alive.

In video, a sub was mentioned rejoining with other pride members along with an aunt/maybe mom. I'll have to try to look into this, but .... Have to check the Mala Mala game report from June, July's in a week or so. But their counting is not always current or accurate, they don't see the same things as Londolozi people.
We know gjima males, or PCM, or Nhuka Males it won't be long now changes is on the way
You're right. They are quick on their feet when they realize that the neighboring coalition had lost a member.
@@allaboutthelionsofsabisand2743 yes and thank you for sharing
I just don’t think it will be that easy. Some lions have to cross other dominant male lions, and some are not ready they maybe too young and inexperienced and still need to grow. Then every thing has to do with chance. Chances are they will fight each other before fighting or ever getting to the Kambula prides. Other coalitions will fight other coalitions. Also once they are there in the Kambula pride territory they will and most likely be fighting them as well as they try to protect their cubs and the prime male lions which I think they are the oldest in their prime and peak around the area. Then if it ever gets to that point most coalitions are two and if it is two vs two I want to say a more experienced lion has the advantage and will act quickly and fast but then the chances are the other
male lions maybe ready but after going trough many journeys.
USE OF CAMERAS AND DRONES TO :: STOP FIGHTING + SEARCHING INJURED OR ILL LION + TRACING ;AND ARRESTING POACHERS 📌📌📌
That fight with blondi was fatal and sick make him lost conditions eventually causing his death and I sure they were involved in tinyo death.
One staple londolozi. One staple but your lazy polocies killed this male.
you have the facts wrong the Gijima males was a coalition of 3 lions they attacked the Ndzenga wounded one of them then the Ndzenga attacked and killed one member of the Gijima leaving them with two lions re edit this video you got it all wrong .
