- A demonstration of a range of tones produced by the original EVH 5150 212 combo. I bought this amp second hand way back in 1997. Gigged with it countless times and it's never let me down.
The guitar amp design to taste by the most influential rock guitar player of all time, cant go wrong!
Very good demo for this very good amp. Perfect job done sir.
Cheers Dino!
really nice demo!
I love that amp, when you and the lads where doing the Stevie Ray Vaughan, Hendrix, cream experiance the tone was so on it. Amazeing!!
And yep shit tone of boogie for Van Hallen ain't talking about love ✌
Guys will crank the green channel to 8 with the master at 2 and then complain that they can't get a good clean tone at a decent volume. I know guitarists are generally stupid, but with a tiny bit of common sense, its very easy to get a good clean out of this amp.
Wow, impressive!
This amp is so terribly underrated.
Yeah they're a cool amp for sure. ✌
Got one the other day. Also have a Diezel and a Mesa dual rec to compare it to..This combo is amazing!
@@LucienYorg That's great Lucien. Definitely an underrated amp.✌
They were overweight. Ridiculous to haul around.
@@morganthus6323 Pretty much all decent size valve amps are heavy. That's the price you pay for great tone. ✌
This shouldn’t surprise anyone. How many times did Eddie have to tell everyone it’s a hot rodded Marshall for us to get that it’ll do stuff besides high gain?
Nice demo!👍👍
Thanks!
great job on the tones :-)
Thanks!
Incredible
Cheers! ✌
Peavey guitar amp is the most versetille amp. All their higain can sings clean properly. All u need is more time to tweak. The key is the pre and post knop. Price wise and sound = 🤘
Great video, im convinced 🤣
killer video. wish i could dial in a garage rock tone that i like with my old school 5150. im rockin emgs and ruby tubes right now tho
Yeah the emgs are way too much output for that high gain amp try a p90 equipped guitar I had the same problem with my 800 and tbh you kinda need that 60 cycle hum for that garage rock sound
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Are you pluged into the High or Low input?
wonder if you know why my reverb has to be turned almost all up just to hear it? does it run through hthe tubes? not sure . great amp, love mine. just a bit too loud in the house.
It's a spring reverb not tube driven. Not sure why it might not be working right. Maybe take it to an amp tech.
Recommend getting a Rivera Rockcrusher for it to control volume.
@realrockguitar This amp is impressive my question is can it be played at lower volumes or does it need to be cranked up for it to shine. It’s also heavy i hear.
As with any valve amp, it needs to be turned up to a decent volume to get the power section cooking and sound it's best.
If you're using it for metal, that's mostly coming from the preamp and you don't really need the power section to break up; so it does sound good at lower volumes from what I've heard, just not as good as it does at 2 or 3 o clock on the volume knob obviously. Grab an attenuator if you really want to preserve your tone at low volumes.
Stock speakers?
Yep
hi are you on high gain channel?
Not until the 7:59 mark
I had this amp for five years..but for some reason i never loved the high gain tones.. sold it..
Yep that a mod Marshall clone for sure I saw one in my guitar center for 349 but the reverb didn’t work
its definitely not a marshall clone...
That's still an extremely good price. It's also not very similar to a marshall schematics wise, there were no marshall amps james brown saw from eddie despite the common myth that he did. But that was what eddie was looking for originally, his jose modded marshall made affordable to everyone who wanted one.
