    Who's singing in their head trying to keep up? A real skill to master.

    If you add the keyboards and vocals it’s literally what 70s Rush fans heard when they first listened to Signals!
    Where’s the guitar?! 🤣

    removing the Van Halen style synthesizers really gives it a different feel. Neil's drums sound very "Counter Part" here. 1993. You could use this as background music for a tech-spy movie. I seem to recall one in 1980s/90s with Parker Stevens called "Probe" would have fit in great with that! And Geddy's awesome bassline comes 1:55 ish and kickem assness begins in full.

    No doubt they tracked that live, in one long no-overdubs take. Pocket MoFos

      Too bad the original is so terrible. Signals slightly edges out Vapor Trails as their worst sounding album.

      @@CrazyLife2112 He used to say it was one of his funnest songs to play. And cool that you said that about those two albums becasue I completely agree as far as sound quality goes. One other that I would throw in there is Presto(one of my faves). Vapor Trails and Snakes and Arrows(best late Rush by far) are night and day sound quality wise.

      Ditto... we play it live, and an isolated track sure helps nail down the parts... cause the real RUSH fans in the audience will let you know, when you don't. 😂

    Playing 4 on the floor and syncing your snare hits on 2 and 4 is surprisingly difficult.
    Or maybe I just suck.
    Great post thank you!

    Great! But how do you manage to do this? Are these, original tracks that made up the song?

    • @GrooveExtractorLab
      @GrooveExtractorLab  11 місяців тому +1

      These are from originals songs from any album yeah. For example, this mix has been created from the Subdivisions version of MFSL Signals. I'm using some tools to extract the different layers (AI models, filter ...) then post-processing them with Adobe Audition or Audacity. And finally I use openshot for the video and final volume equalization before posting it on UA-cam. It's retro-engineering but for music.

    What's point of this, I wonder?

    • @MikeKobb
      @MikeKobb Рік тому +13

      Two uses I can think of right away: Makes it easier for drummers or bass players who are trying to learn the track, or gives guitarists a track to play along to while they're learning it.

      It is so we can enjoy listening to the perfection of Neil and Geddy! I beg to see anyone else tap thru this without skipping any of the off timing beats. RIP Neil
