Very good project Giaco! When soldering wires to the LCD, I'd highly recommend soldering to the pads the pins are soldered to. Soldering directly to the pins makes a very brittle connection and they come apart very easily from vibration and shock. This is from electronic experience in the automotive industry. All the best!
