I discovered The Brothers in 1977... I bought all their albums and have to say they were the best at what they did.. make people happy.. thank you so much for the privilege gentleman...rip Louis 🙏🏼 in heaven above ❤️❤️ !!! Herb
Thank your father for me for crafting so many wonderful and soothing instrumental tracks with his brother. Still listening to Brothers Johnson in 2024. Love and peace and well wishes from Cleveland.
This really captures the real essence of the band. they were funky, they had hits, but essentially they were great musicians, from George's work with Billy Preston and the brothers work with Quincy Jones, they were true to their craft By the time this CD was released, (1984) they were really in the groove. The hits may have slowed down, but they were still recognized for their skills.
Louis Johnson was the greatest in the pocket, thumper in the business. His timing and knowledge on where to place the accents between the beats was amazing.
I’ve loved the Brothers Johnson since they debuted and got to enjoy their music while pursuing my own music career in Japan. 🇯🇵 Louis & George came to Japan to perform and I was lucky enough to get to see their shows + meet my idol Louis! (Yes, he was a great guy) He taught me more about Funky Bass” in that little time span that I ever could have grasped in years of practice...and so I got to “know & feel” his approach well. I guess you could say we hit it off right away,..he got what I was trying to achieve on Bass and I really think that he wanted his style to perpetuate so he showed me and then others through the “StarLicks” video series. His sound and vibe shall live on through me...to honor him and Brothers Johnson music!! ( I’ll also be constructing a “Special Music Man Bongo Bass”...to honor the Brothers!..stay tuned fans!!..🎵🎸) I perform this tune because I love it,..reside in Tokyo for many many years...it’s my Anthem of life here in Japan. Louis was so influenced by the nation that he named his Children with Japanese names (Kodi & Kiki)...I believe they are called. I miss the Brothers Johnson but it so helps that their music doesn’t have to be missed!!...🎧📀🎶☺️✌🏾✨🎵🎸💖
First heard this track on my old jazz station KBLX out of the Beautiful Bay Area California way back when Donnie Simpson was a dj. Wonderful times, wonderful music.
Jazz Funk Fusion like a MoFo! One of my favorite Brothers Johnson songs. Was just boarding a flight and it came to mind. The horns, drums, flute are so tight on this. I gotta find the musicians on this.
This is what I play when I'm travelling, when I'm chillin', firing up the bbq, or just reflecting out by the shore. The bros. were underrated in what they brought to their music...
sIT BACK, CLOSE YOUR EYES AND GROOVE TO THIS JAM! I BET IT WILL PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE! HEAR ALL THE INSTRUMENTS AND CHILL! SURELY IF YOU ARE 420 FRIENDLY!!!!
Bought this back in 1984 - it's always felt like such a deeply emotional tune. There's sadness interspersed with uplifting moments. I'd love to go to Tokyo and make a video for it.
the brothers johnson have that good good good music, and yes it's timeless and theres nobody talking about killing anybody, theres nobody putting down woman///music these days is garbage// theres nothing like good music, what's up brothers johnson2013. X

Dear friends, be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8). We must always practice this vigilance in our spiritual lives. Peter warns believers not to glide thoughtlessly through life, but to “be alert”. The devil is actively trying to destroy us, and so we too need to be active, resisting temptation and standing firm in our faith (v. 9). That’s not something we have to do on our own though. God promises to be with us in our sufferings and, ultimately, to make us “strong, firm and steadfast” (v. 10). By His power, we learn to remain watchful and alert in resisting evil and following Him. Where do you need to be more alert? In what ways will you stay vigilant in following Jesus? As you ponder these very powerful questions, I invite you to receive our Creator THIS VERY MOMENT by first acknowledging that you are a sinner in need of our Savior. Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord of your life. Welcome Abba YHWH (Father God) through Yeshua (Jesus the Christ) into your life. Receive grace by believing in Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross, His death, burial and resurrection for the sins of all human-kind. You will then be justified in salvation and forever blessed with His abundant love by the Holy Spirit! Please take a moment to pray the following prayer with me......Dear Father God, keep me from growing lazy or too comfortable in my spiritual life. Help me to remain watchful and alert so that I can resist temptation and do Your will Your way! This I pray in the Mighty name of Your Son Yeshua, Jesus Christ, Amen! May God bless you in the Glorious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and our Savior.❤️❤️❤️
