- Southern's 1979 Xmas tape entry, introduced by Fred Dineage and featuring Bill Oddie, Alistair Stewart, Sarah Kennedy. Continuity announcer 'both ways up' is Adrian Edwards. The theme for the 1979 entry was based on the future launch of ITV2 which eventually appeared as Channel 4.
This will go down in history of the smoothest presenting Fred has ever done!
🤣🤣🤣 oh I’m so going to wind up Fred with this next time I see him in the Denmead Coop!
00:55 even ITV knew George and Mildred was shit.
The BALLS theme was the one heard on the "This Week in the NHL" first intermission report on the CBCs Hockey Night in Canada.
11:06 -- she sure knows how to make that grow!
Bill Oddie dropped the F bomb at 03.24.
Back in 1979 itv2 did not exist before and if itv2 existed they would have to change channel numbers twice in 1982 and 1997
Basically ITV in 1979 was the content of ITV3 in 2022!
Oh dear - please look up the peculiarly British TV Christmas Tape - they are a collection of bloopers and in-house jokes.

ITV 2? I don't ever remember ITV 2?
Steven Whiting Ahead of their time!
Yes, they were just messing about, but the British Government (at the time) was going to give the fourth channel to ITV, instead of CH4.
