ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් ක්‍රීඩාව වෙනුවෙන් අනගි මෙහෙයක් ඉටු කළ හා ඉටු කරමින් සිටින අසංක ගුරුසිංහ කුඩා කාලයේ සිට ජාත්‍යන්තර ක්‍රිකට් පිටියේ අවසානය දක්වා කළ කී දෑ ඇතුළු සොඳුරු අතීත මතකයන් ThePapare.com සමඟ මෙසේ බෙදා ගත්තේ ඉතාමත් සුහදත්වයෙනි. එසේ නම් නරඹන්න ThePapare.com හා ප්‍රවීණ ක්‍රිකට් ලේඛක රෙක්ස් ක්ලෙමන්ටයින් Munchee සමඟ එක්ව ඔබ වෙත ගෙන එන “Legends” වැඩසටහනේ දහතුන්වන දිගහැරුම.

A man who held the 1996 world cup team without collapsing. 3rd place is most hardest place to bat as you have to protect the team from collapsing. Good old saying says " Put your technically best batsmen in 3rd place to bat " ... and SL filled that 3rd place with Gurusinghe . Unique talent and Arjuna ones thanked him in media saying " If there is no Gurusinghe then no team... he held the team without collapsing" . Amazing ability to absorb pressure in the middle. Technically very correct and really strong against any phase attack.
Occasional Medium phase bowler esp do well in fast wickets where our spinners struggle to spin. In Old days if there is no Gurusinghe in team then I am afraid to watch matches :D as our team surprises us score 50/ 7 in 5 overs.
Hats off for you Sir and Thank you coming back to SL and helping youngsters. Lot to learn from you

ගුරුසින්හ අයියා තවත් අපේ මතකයක් ආදරෙයි අපි තවම ගුරු අයියා
