Beautiful. Such an incredible song. One of those rarities which you never, ever, tire of hearing. They struck gold with this, they really did. Fucking amazing!!!
but it seemed to take a lot of drugs to pull that off, though. I detect some irony, or even sarcasm in their version. I'd say it's even more bitter than Ian's; they are singing it "happily" but cynically. Think about it. Fake happiness vs sincere despair.
Better to end it when it doesn't work anymore. Everyone thinks The Beatles were masters. The Rolling Stones have been largely irrelevant for 35 years (and that's being generous). Leave them wanting more. I think it'd be nice if they could make up personally and be friends, but that's a different matter.
@@wclark3196 But It's only 3/4 New Order without Hooky. Nice, but not the same. All songs are better with a Peter Hook bass line (and a Macca one for that matter).
@@hoisin75 I'm not saying that a New Order rump should carry on. I'm saying go do something else. They have all the money they'd ever need and can do whatever projects they like.
@@kingjohnny4314 I assume you mean The Rolling Stones. Yes, they've been around these many years, staged large tours and made a pile of money. But they're a nostalgia act. They're not doing anything vital or new that gets anyone excited.
Glasgow ALWAYS ROCKS!!! when you are on tour and trudging around the uk glasgee (especially the barrow lands ) and Belfast ALWAYS inject you with NRG!! xx
When routine bites hard And ambitions are low And resentment rides high But emotions won't grow And we're changing our ways Taking different roads Love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again Why is the bedroom so cold? Turned away on your side Is my timing that flawed? Our respect run so dry? Yet there's still this appeal That we've kept through our lives But love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again Do you cry out in your sleep? All my failings exposed Gets a taste in my mouth As desperation takes hold And it's something so good Just can't function no more? The drummer isn't playing it like the original, his hi-hat work really propelled the song. Hard to find a live version with him playing fast like he did on the original.
I don’t think they ignore him when they play it, they are more paying respects when they play it and making sure the songs lives on, I’m sure that’s what Ian would have wanted
Just want to take a moment to acknowledge what an amazing drummer Stephen Morris is
Peter Hook we miss your presence on stage! Legend!
I love to see the young people of Glasgow appreciate the music of my youth and my area. Kudos to all.
I was there that night although I wasn't young! Cracking gig 👍🏼
@@stevec8243 I’m jealous!
This makes me weepy. They’re honouring their friend’s legacy when they perform this tune. xx
Ian would be proud im sure! we salute you New Order!
He would have be prouder hearing Nerina singing the sing.
Love tore me apart, and New Order showed me it was ok!
RIP Ian
Still an incredible tune! RIP Ian Curtis.
It's their song, too.
Beautiful. Such an incredible song. One of those rarities which you never, ever, tire of hearing. They struck gold with this, they really did. Fucking amazing!!!
I had never heard New Order perform this song live until now.
I was young wild and free that time..But will always treasure this song.. ❤️
With Joy Division it sounds painful, With New Order it sounds joyful. New Order is basically the negation of Joy Division.
Times change. It's their version of their song and they do it quite good
Exactly that
Yet to j in un k GIC.

@Atman Gotango he was in a tough time and if he wasn’t that downer he would most likely be here today
I still love this song in 2021!!!!!
if you are one of the 31 people that disliked this video......I don't even know what to say
I was there what a night i,ll never forget it awsome
Rare situation, when after the legendary frontmans death band keep and goes even further to the new level.
Only other band I can think of is AC/DC
Cool Remembering his beginnings of this great band! Joy Division ❤ New Order
One of the best songs ever
Rip Ian curtis.
the greatest song ever written
What a band! Takes me back to UF in late 1980’s and fantastic parties!
Absolutely brilliant!
totally top song. a
an anthemn to so many x
I cant wait they are coming to south Florida jan 12 2019. Love them
*New Order - Love Will Tear Us Apart*
I want to go to Gla someday and enjoy some fantastic music live
Pretty cool lights. Would have been a blast to have been there for this classic.
It's so good!!!
I wish Hook and Summer would make up and work together again

great selection song!!!!
This is what we used to call "strapping it on big time", awesome, fucking love it.
@ZRN959 They've been playing it without him for what, 30 years now? Why should they feel guilty?
Always love this song 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖😘😘😘

Just perfect how its should be to god rest ian xx
la voce di Ian è inimitabile
Pretty cool their all older and still rocking
Meraviglia!
amazing
Wonderful
Could watch Hooky play bass all day.
❤love New Order
Brutalllll!
Great song
banging!
Masterpiece. WCE without contemporary equivalent.
rolon!!!!!!
Time flies.
Go to Dolans in Limerick, Ireland tonight if you want to see Peter Hook.
When routine bites hard
And ambitions are low

Taking different roads

Love, love will tear up apart again
@JediGTI good point.
Damn, Hook sure can play bass. Damn.
Wave forever
fucking love this song, piel de gallina
Never die
Ian Curtis war einer der größten Sänger überhaupt....
"yet there's still this feeling we have kept through our lives"
I like to "do a John Peel" in the bar with this, and play it twice.
Still a good song without Ian. Just lacks the soul. Peter singing it is much better that Barny
Yes, I loved his deep dark voice on the original version!
They change the key slightly in New Order's version to match Bernard's voice better. I think Peter performs it in the original key.
The drummer really slowed down. Listen to how fast he plays the hi-hat cymbals on the original and how slowly he plays here.
I prefer this version I never really liked joy division but new order is one of my favourite bands mostly because I dislike Ians voice
No singer recreates the 'soul' of a song whose original singer is gone.
The older sound better than in young. Vinyl was perfect, but they are better and convince
❤❤😊😊😊
*A long time ago...*
I could recognize the drummer only by his characteristic body moves...Just watch the video with Ian and you'll see.
@scarymcclary Since 3/4 of JD is New Order how is it a tribute?
My name is Jesse love your music
Voodoo Coyote just released a new of Love Will Tear Us Apart:
this songs reminds me of mbv
BR❤
The drummer isn't playing it like the original, his hi-hat work really propelled the song. Hard to find a live version with him playing fast like he did on the original.
The studio version is super hard to play live, and thus easy to mess up.
I’m a drummer myself, trust me!
in another life peter hook would've made a great serial killer
Peter hook is a sensitive person. I wish him happiness. Thanks for all the music Peter. X
@ZRN959 it's probably more tribute than playing it with out him just for the hell of it.
@jacci1970 Right? New Order is Joy Division.
@gombie
Most likely they'd forgotten the old ones.
The drummer’s t-shirt >
...if you want to be anywhere on a night...
I see why Hooky complained about Barney's "whooping" in the book 🤣💀
Isso que é musica porra ! Cadê os Br ?
Tamos aqui UAI!
Remember Ian Curtis
there's something different in this version, is it a change of key? any music theory explanation out there?
It's in a slightly higher key yeah
I think the song is played a step higher than the original
Who can answer? Who wrote the primal musical theme in this song?
Brilliant but ironic, Ian Curtis would have collapsed into a gigantic seizure with all those flashing lights
🇬🇧
Peter Hook never overcome Joy Division, you can see it at the begining of this video
Peter hook IS Joy division.
It’s not the same without Ian there 😢
alla fine italia inghilterra vi abbiamo purghato..l ' amore vi dividerà,fatevene una ragione ..forza italia ahaaha
BR🇧🇷🎶❤️
Tamos aqui UAI
Love New Order but miss ian Curtis
#nohookynoneworder
Drums sound weak compared to early New Order
Doesn’t a Foo Fighters(Nirvana), New Order(Joy Division)and Pearl Jam(Mother Love Bone)tour seem fitting?
1 STUPID HERE TOO
kent will tear you apart again
Barney is doin his best, but this Song needs Ians voice.
what?
I much perfected New Order to Joy Division.
I love New Order for real but is this like the fucking only song Barney can actually sing live? I'm drunk...
Not sure why but it just feels wrong man
Lovely song but there is no heart in the singing.
dont you guys feel guilty about playing this without Ian?
I don’t think they ignore him when they play it, they are more paying respects when they play it and making sure the songs lives on, I’m sure that’s what Ian would have wanted
