I always think of St. Michael the Archangel battling Lucifer when I ponder the nature of pride. Like the good Father said, pride is full of deceit and self-deception. Lucifer fell from God because he believed wrongly in himself, and thought of himself as though he were God. The brave taunt and rally cry of St. Michael the Archangel is Hebrew for a question targeted toward those fallen angels; 'Who is like God?'. By being less, we are truly more.
@@georgepenton6023 We do not have to have pride in order to accomplish things, on the contrary it is the humble that accomplishes more things, because they receive grace from God by their very disposition and they return thanksgiving and praise to him for everything they have achieved . " But he has given us an even greater grace, as scripture says: God opposes the proud but he accords his favour to the humble." (James 4:6)
