In this video, I renovate a large Ferrari Testarossa model that a fan sent me to renovate.
I disassembled the entire car, sandblasted it, applied the base coat, sanded it and painted it in the original red Ferrari color, I also fixed some things. the result is worth it

Just a few tips. When using faux techniques to show age and patina. Don't forget. Aluminum and plastic does not rust. Rust does not make round spots. That's not rust that's overspray. When taking things apart for the first time the uncovered areas will be pristine not aged. Your restoration of lightly wiping some parts with a rag and breaking out some rattle cans is faux as well.

I think this model may have been aged for a film set, all pieces removed kept aside for restoration. Amazing techniques, sand blasting and painting equipment, dedication and skill.

It's a Ferrari Testarossa by Pocher Rivarossi, an italian farm. This Ferrari was made in 80' and I had it :)

Lucky you had the pieces to fix the trashed wheel,carnt imagine where you found them.
He breaks the model and use painting to simulate rust and other stuff, plus the windshield and other clear parts appears out of nowhere.
It is necessary to show the aging process. It will be exciting. Can be separated into a separate series.

Long ago I had 1/18 scale ferrari testarossa it was white n was rc I love it's squarish shape n sleek lines back lights with black grill looks ossum

For once, I would like to see a toy or model restoration video WITH sound where the restorer `splains what hes doing or using, with NO recorded music in the background!
There is a mistake about the colours of the head. Because the car Is called "TESTAROSSA", so the the head cover's have to be coloured in Red, not in black.
I got one it was in bad condition ferrari 599gto very hard to colour match but after many attempts n proper base prepration it turn out better than new

Again, beautiful work on such an amazing machine 👏🏽😄!Question, after doing such a beautiful job on painting your restorations, I see that you don’t wear gloves when your assembling the cars. At least lent free gloves so you don’t leave finger prints.
Taking a bit more time and paying a little more attention to the details on this particular model would have been better appreciated. Noticed by the result of the final fit and finish.

You should've painted it white in resemblance to the famous white testarossa driven in Miami Vice.
They also had a black one in the later seasons
по сути не плохая работа, но кровь из глаз пошла когда начал окрашивать пластиковые детали даже не как их не обработав, в результате салон вообще скукотища и не как не доработал модель хотя аналоговые ютуберы обычно такие хорошие модели дорабатывают

you can paint brown paint over the top of shiny black paint and infer that it's rust.

Lovely build..but the camshaft cover should have been red.. I believe that's where it got its name from..red head..
Good work, but missing parts and debris appearing out of nowhere, the mirror shine of the corroded surface makes one doubt the authenticity... And how could a bench model even get to this state?

Es todo fake, esta pintado como oxidado, también le faltan un monton de piezas que despues aparecen por arte de magia.

Really? The complete car is ruined. The carbody paintjob is terrible. The seats looking disgusting. He used glossy metallic red. Looks someone overcoated the seats with grease. I do modelling over 25 years, and I see when a car got miserable restored.

@@michaelaldredge-greenwell1692 it because this guy fakes the poor condition of the models. So he’s not really legitimately restoring anything. You didn’t catch on to the rust on plastic, the clean parts, not cleaning any of the dirty rusty parts before painting them, the “rusty” body and parts having a shiny gloss coat on top of them. He would be better off actually restoring roached items instead of faking it.

I have the Pocher silver Testarossa convertible, I bought it back in the 1990's for $200 and the black Porshe 911 which cost $190, I was just about to order the Pocher F-40 and the Red Testarossa sedan, but the online model shop said they were suddenly discontinued. It turns out the Pocher factory in Italy had a fire and the molds were destroyed in the blaze.

Colleziono solo Ferrari scala 1/18, parlo da appassionato ferrarista, con questa 1/8 hai fatto un bel lavoro, complimenti 🙂, solo un paio di dettagli che potevi aggiungere e rimettere bene, la scritta posteriore "Testarossa" e il volante.
Oddio un lavoro sufficiente...il cavallino sul posteriore non si può guardare. Il colore rosso dati sui sedili ed molle degli ammortizzatori un pugno nell'occhio. Le decal fatte di carta poi su una scala 1/8 i dettagli sono fondamentali poi perché non dipingere le testate di rosso da cui prende il nome?!? Mistero 😢

Tra l'altro, ho rivisto il finale del video e si è scordato di mettere i vetri posteriori, non ci sono nè ai lati e nè dietro, mi pare... gli piacerà così, ma quelli li poteva mettere, hai ragione, non è stato proprio un lavoro fatto ad arte 😂
@@MASTERBIGSTRONG ma poi un altra cosa simula che il modellino sia in quelle condizioni...se guardi bene le plastiche non le pulisce le vernicia direttamente perché ha simulato le macchi della presunta ruggine e fango; non sono l'unico che se ne accorto leggi gli altri commenti e vedrai...

ok I guess the brown stuff was supposed to mean rust to make the model look so bad. But neither die cast metal nor plastic can rust !!! Then if it was just stained with brown paint you could at least remove it with the correct solvent and I would have never sand blasted the body shell, which then required additional finishing by sand paper.
Zinc die cast did not rust,plastic also🤫
