I don't think you should limit yourself to only 20k if you're gonna build a house with a fully furnished kids' bedroom. 20k is the budget for one sim to start out with, so then at least if the house has room to grow, put just a crib in or something. Otherwise it's a given the house is gonna have 2 or 3 sims from the get go, so it can go a couple thousands higher.

Don't torture yourself with always having a budget Kayla! I wish you could do this challenge again but without any budget so you can go all in 😊 Or maybe increase the budget to 50k instead of 20k?

i lost both my cats to kidney disease. something like this would have been so helpful because we weren't monitoring either of them enough. i'm so glad something like this exists for other people and their fur babies so hopefully they'll be around a bit longer :)

oh my god- when the announcement that my first pet stuff is free was out I kindaaa bought cats and dogs for it. and I was looking for a starter home from kayla. and right now I was like "omg another starter home" but it is the same one I believe. it's just fun to watch and be like "oh!! is that going to be a kids room- OMG it is!!!". Thank you for the amazing work, Kayla. ♥

Could you please do a challenge where you can ONLY build with a certain style? Like Queen Anne or Ranch or Gothic or French Farmhouse, etc.? I'd love to see what the Sims categorizes in each style and how challenging it can be.

cats and dogs a long with brindleton bay make me really nostalgic, i grew up in new england so i build with the pack constantly, it was also one of the first sims packs i ever got
i know that the community really hated my first pet stuff for being dlc for dlc, but the downside of them not doing things like that is we never get new content for packs- once a concept is done it's done, and anything pack specific we won't see again because they don't want to end up in the same situation, where you need to buy two packs to get the item and make it work

Growing up where Cape Cods were common, the second floor bump out was extremely common. The funny thing about Cape Cods are they can be any where from two to four bedrooms, usually with the bedrooms on both the first and second floor.

You might use the Petivity in conjunction with something like PrettyLitter. It changes colors when it comes in contact with certain abnormalities in urine; like blood.

I love these limited pack builds! It’s so nice to see everything the pack can be and offers 😊 in fact, I would be extremely interested in watching some without a budget where you use all the best pack items and display the total potential of the pack 😁 It would help me because sometimes I feel overwhelmed about which packs have the most items I want (to buy next) - so it would be nice to see a whole picture ☺️

Kayla, I'm so sorry to hear about little Snap's condition 😢Please take this with a grain of salt, but if you haven't heard, there's an injection for cats called AIM that's currently in clinical trials, I highly recommend you and all cat owners to research about it! It's a potentially huge breakthrough that a Japanese scientist, Dr. Miyazaki Toru, has made to target chronic kidney disease in cats. During test trials, cats who were expected to live as little as a week were shown to have remarkable improvements after receiving the injection. The medication is expected to be accessible by 2025! I hope all the best for Snap! 💕

The fact that tons of people have only one pack in The Sims 4... Luckily, I have quite a few packs, and the cats and dogs pack is actually a really good one, I agree Kayla! Also psyched for the new pack, I really want to build apartments and townhouses! The City Living ones are such a letdown...
Petivity doing work for our beloved pets. Nice built using just 2 packs. I do relate everytime I built a house it has something from Cats & Dogs in it, same with Seasons and Horse Ranch sneaking in there too, cause I like the country/farmhouse within houses.
A tip for you Simsie- Delete the underside of the stairs and then just put walls around the part that shows! Saves money and still looks nice

Just a tip to any other cat owners out there, pine pellet litter is the cheapest and best for your cat you’ll ever get. It’s not scented, it doesn’t track, and there’s no dust clogging up their insides.

About the ad: If you combine this litter box with Pretty Litter cat litter, it's even better. Pretty Litter changes color if your cat's urine contains different things, such as for UTIs, urine crystals, and other things. These both combined could definitely help with keeping updated on your cat's health!

Build challenge:
You build a starter home, but the insidee is a shell. You get to spend all the money on landscaping and the exterior. However, it also needs funtionality - bbq, shower, sleeping place - not enclosed by walls :)
The litter monitor seems like it would also be great for detecting urinary blockages! Male cats are incredibly prone to blockages (around 50% of them get blocked!) and if not treated soon enough they'll die from potassium overdose or dehydration. I've had 2 cats get blocked before, one when I was a kid and we didn't catch it very quicky because we didn't notice his litter habits change. He had to be at the vets for three days. Two weeks ago my cat Macaroni got a blockage, I'm lucky enough he prefers to pee when people are around to watch so my fiance and I noticed right away, apparently he hadn't even been blocked for an hour! He only needed to be at the vets for a single day. For people whose cats aren't like Macaroni, that litter monitor could save their cats lives I'm so glad something like this exists!!
