I work at a thrift store and there was recently giant rolls of fluff fabric donated. With my discount I got a giant roll of orange fluffy fur fabric for $15 to make a liner for my ferrets cage lol. I have two ferret nation cages combined and I have a bit extra of fabric.. thats how big the roll was.They seem to love it. And it's oddly strange so easy to clean. Like it feels like it repels, so potty accidents are super easy to get.
YESSS THE THRIFT STORE IS A GREAT PLACE FOR FABRIC! I always check their fabric section to see if they have anything good. I'm glad you found such a great fabric at such a good price!!!
@@FriendlyNeighborhoodFerrets once the only fabrics I liked happened to be matching materials, and the exact colors of the Powerpuff girls. So eventually the cage will be Powerpuff girl themed just by random chance lol

I made a nice cage cover starting with shower curtain. Cut off lower part to over top of cage. Cut remaining piece vertically for front curtains, already has holes to thread dowel though And ty wrap dowels to top cage doors.

I use the pillowcases from dollarama for the the smaller platforms and stuff them full of the blankets, they have super cute designs and as a bonus the ferrets love to burrow in them and sleep there so extra sleeping stuff!

I can guarantee I couldn’t find any of that at the Dollar Tree. Not that it matters as I am not allowed to have ferrets.
Edit: I am an adult, but I have a dog, and my family wants nothing to do with ferrets, mostly because they smell. I have kept hamsters in the past and it’s not like I don’t know how to keep on top of a cage, so I don’t know why they think I can’t keep on top of a ferret cage. Another reason is they think our dogs would eat them. I could probably train my dog to leave them alone, but I’m not allowed to train their dog. Apparently they think I can’t shut a door to keep their dog out or something. They also think they are mean, yeah no, just because the one ferret my uncle’s roommate had was mean doesn’t mean they are all mean. They also don’t like rodents, even though ferrets aren’t rodents and I could probably get a pet hamster with no problems. Either way their excuses are kinda weak sauce.

this is a great video!! but do you have any recommendations for destructive/chewing ferrets to be okay chewing that is good for them
It sort of depends on what they're chewing on and why they're doing it.
There are basically three steps to chew prevention:
1. Figure out WHY they're chewing. Ferrets chew for a lot of different reasons, including (but not limited to) boredom, loneliness, anxiety, too much pent up energy (especially in kits), and just... being natural chewers lol. So try your best to figure out why the ferret is doing that, and act accordingly. For example: if you think it might be boredom, consider offering more out of cage time with an intense playtime before you put the ferret back in its cage.
2. Remove what the ferret is chewing. If it's a particular type of toy, fabric, or wires - do your best to keep these away from your ferret or under strict supervision. Chewing = blockages, which are potentially fatal.
3. Give them something else to chew on! Which I realize is what you're asking me about haha, but I wanted to give you my whole ramble just in case. This is really super dependent on your individual ferret, but in my opinion something edible is the best. Chew toys can still cause blockages, so I wouldn't recommend them. Nova is my main chewer (she loves to much on wires) I make home made dehydrated treats for my girls, which is cheap and fun (ua-cam.com/video/FeTjkFUuUrk/v-deo.html) and she also really likes these beef esophagus chews: www.petvalu.com/ca/product/limited-natural-beef-esophagus/FCM04449CA
If you're going to be buying treats for them, do your best to get single ingredient treats (the only ingredient being an animal protein) and make sure they aren't too thick. Even with those beef esophagus treats, I normally dig through the bin of them to find the thinner ones, because some of them are way too thick. Also keep in mind that hard chew treats can be potential choking hazards, so only give them to your ferret under supervision and throw them away when they're about 3/4 of an inch long to prevent choking.

I cringe when I see a ferret cage. I've had 8 ferrets over 30 years and I've never owned a cage. They free roam around my house.
Is it possible that my ferret has Insulinoma when he is only 8 months old?
If they're badly bred then yes It can happen but it's not very common so DEFINITELY check with your vet
