- The budget RC market is going wild and many companies have produced some AWESOME RCs for stunning prices.
Some like the JJRC Q117 are very capable, strong and already brushless going for as low as $100 Australian🤯
The newest MJX is NOT one of those cars in my opinion, yes it's strong but the pros END THERE😵💫
Can a wider set of wheels actually give it a tiny bit of stability!?
Just for reference my JJRC truggy in this video has had some changes but still all up cost me much less than the MJX.

All of my DIY carbon, aluminium or polycarbonate parts are cut with a jigsaw and drilled with a hand drill.
Most of my materials like Carbon Fibre, Aluminium, polycarbonate and hardware like screws, bolts and nuts are purchased from Ebay Australia but most of what I use is easily found just by Google searching the material or hardware you require.

I love pressing the power button five times to get super speed on the hyper go. Hard to control but very fast.
Wrong version mate, only the ones the came out as 3s RTR has that, no mention of it in the instruction guide as with the 3s version and I have tried many times.
But there is actually no difference in top speed, if I run 3s on this one it is just as fast as you having to do the button thing on yours.
It seems more like they have just added another form of power reduction and you have to push the button 5 times to get the same speed as I get with this one just running 3s, so confusing and pointless in my opinion😵💫😅
I have that exact jjrc model and the best thing I did for stability was order a set of the oil shocks meant for a WL Toys 14th scale. They're slightly longer and just a hair larger bite, but they fit without causing any CVD issues and make it WAY less bouncy and flippy. It handles like a much more expensive larger car with just that sub $10 upgrade (USD, not sure how much they are down under). Well worth it in my opinion.
Also, have you tried thicker oil\grease\silicone earplugs in the diffs on the Hyper Go? Better shocks on that as well? My 16th scale from them on the stock diffs was absolutely wild. The upgraded diffs made a huge difference on it. I haven't pulled the trigger on the 14th scale yet, but want one if they don't drop their 10th scale before I have the $ sitting around for more RC stuff.
The rear wltoys 1/14 shocks are over 65mm and definitely bind up the rear shafts at full stroke, the front wltoys shocks are 55mm which is perfect.

Earplugs don't work in diffs, too sticky and creates voids where the gears are therefore stops lubricating the gears, oil runs over the gears constantly lubricating.
I would definitely wait for a better MJX or just stick with the 1/16, much better than this new MJX.
Honestly out of my 40+ cars this is probably the worst car I have when talking control and excitement.
The jjrc definitely had my name on it!! ..maybe both..😂

I think the problem is not my driving because I am a ok driver but everything else in regards to my channel, people just don't get the best channel experience compared to many other channels.
I never expect to be a big popular channel just doing my best to keep the channel going as it is.

Well yes even if my channel in general is basic compared to others I'm sure my videos have helped some people make decisions or possibly helped with a mod or repair.

Que decirte..... es increible el cambio muy estable a alta velocidad con giro en curva pero hace caballitos a baja velocidad, un poco mas controlable que lo que se ve en tu video. También es cierto que nuestra batería es 2s-

Yes both the shock oil and diff oils will help not only with longevity but definitely change the performance for the better.
And yes these come with 2s li-ion batteries.
So mine may look a little less controllable because it does about 25kph faster than on 2s and I definitely push my cars and my own skills, gets boring never pushing yourself😅
Good video. Even with the wider wheels, that one is still super unstable. So, I guess that makes it good that it is so tough.
It's unstable but tough so just send it like a mad man you thing, it won't break😆

Awesome video i love that perfect backflip u did near the beginning that was sick!! recently upgraded to oil filled shocks myself and idk whats going on it but its leaking oil all of my arms are soaked in oil and its quite frustating ...u think the shocks are garbage or am i missing something cuz i followed 3 videos to the t and got my rebound workin as it should prior to installing

There are lots of dodgy shock on the market including fake wltoys ones.
I'm not sure what shocks you got so I can't really help determine quality.
Odd that you got them tuned and then started leaking once out driving🤔
@rccrazy tbh they were leakin when i pumped the shocks b4 driving but i i made sure it was like the bare minimum cuz i was checking the rebound but i spent so much time on it i just threw it on...i would send u a pic but idk how lol im kinda upset cuz i was hopin not to spend anymore on this damn car

Yes the stock wheels are OK but there is much better options.

It is durable yes but that's about it.
Very unstable, very heavy, I did not like it at all I'm sorry to say.
I'm using mine as a spare parts car for my HBX and Eachine cars.

It needs a few parts, not sure when I'll have it fixed and out again, I have so much to get through at the moment.
I think they (MJX) should of used the wheels and tires from its brother car the 14209 which doesn’t have any of these handling issues yet shares the same basic platform and power system . The SCY or Jjrc car you have ,these things are awesome! Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 to you brother!
Yes I recall you mentioning the 14209 being better but honestly the wheels from experience are great and are not the issue.
I have not started tuning the diffs or anything yet so HOPEFULLY I find what is causing the instability, could just need a better servo as the stock one is quite sloppy and weak.
Sorry mate I hate arguing a point if I'm not 100% about the problem but I'm positive it's not the wheels😅

@@rccrazyI have both these cars and I also wonder why the MJX have stability issues. I'm pretty sure it's becaus of the shock angle, they are too vertical compared to the SCY or any wltoys. They cannot absorb lateral forces, making the car to roll over easily.
Yes it could have something to do with shock angle but that would mean the whole car has bad geometry.
I have had and possibly still have cars with almost vertical shocks and are much more stable than this MJX.
I really think it is just that though, the geometry, almost seems like they've tried to take the best parts/designs from many car to make it and it just didn't really work.
It is pretty tough though😅
Hyper Go has a lot of problems, the first thing is the control, and the steering wheel does not work. I regret buying it. I love its younger sister 16208. I bought ,I bought ,sg116 max More stable
Yes in my opinion the older plastic chassis MJXs were much better and cheaper, but I do love these jjrc/scy cars👌
Jjrc You share the same body with SG 116, I was burned ESC After using a 3S lipo battery
@kamalabouelela4553 the esc with 3 hold down tabs do not run on 3s.
Only the esc without tabs can handle 3s.
I ordered the all blue aluminum upgrades for it. I got a deal for literally everything for only 52 bucks instead of the normal 140 some dollars. But I'll make a video I'm interested to see what you all think. Cuz that yellow drive with all solid parts. Plus I upgraded the ESC to a 45 amp and one that's good for 1500 ft which is awesome the lag is zero.
Be careful using alloy parts, they are heavy and they have no flexibility so they are actually bad in most cases.
I rarely use alloy parts because you end up breaking many more important parts from the lack of flex.

I actually ordered one myself because after just a little drive of dads I could feel it was so well set-up out of the box compared to most budget options and has so much potential to be a proper EPIC 1/18 rig.
The bottom shock caps did pop/thread but that was easy fixed with a little glue and some new oil.
Can't wait to make mine a machine😈😆

Might give the shocks a dab of glue before the same happens to mine but will be wanting to upgrade to better shocks when more upgrades come out 🤞👍

I have not announced it on the channel yet but I also got the Maverick Atom a week or 2 ago, done some vids already but one vids is on the ALLOY oil shock upgrades for it, they are cheap for AMAZING quality shocks and perfect size for the Grom, that's what I'm going with for sure👌

@svl9874 not the motor but maybe the esc if you have one that is mounted to the car with 3 screws, they do not handle 3s.
Do not run 3s if yours has 3 screws holding it down!

If you mean the wheel width it's almost 9 inchs
@@rccrazy how tall are you tires in inches, rim includes. I think the stock ones are like 2.25 in and I just ordered for inch tires and they're not as wide obviously cuz they wouldn't be able to turn but I'll update it and I'll make a video

You need to change the tires, that both cars have the same type, to make a fair comparison, since one seems to have more grip than the other, greetings.
That's what I did, put the MJX wheels on the JJRC and my preferred wheels for the JJRC on the MJX.
The MJX is just poorly designed with bad geometry, it's tough yes but that doesn't really do much for me if I can't enjoy the car and in my opinion it's a total fail if you can't figure out or fix the issues easily.

2838 is a small motor for this car so it will struggle a bit.
But there are many cheap and nasty escs like surpass and goolrc that have very bad throttle issues so depending on the esc brand I think that may be your issues.

You should put a gyro in the mjx.
Your kind of just reinforcing my opinion, if a car needs a gyro to drive straight at 30kph there is something wrong with it.
I don't like gyros on off-road car so I get a good idea of a cars actual capacities, the MJX was easily the most unstable car I had, yeah it's strong but that's pointless if you can't drive it.
I'm not sure about this little car after you let me have a drive of it. It rolls around a lot which was a bit annoying.
