Oh, gives me nostalgia feels. I had two Kyosho 1/24 Mini buggies (from the 1990s), Still have one (the other one is more a spare part doner now). This looks very similar but with better materials and modern electronics. But the design is realy familiar. Sadly my cars didnt have the oil-shocks/springs, they where optional and to expensive when I was young. But everything else was kitted to max. (Dont remember the specs though). They were discontinued just some year after, so spare parts was hard to find (before internet took off). I want one of these now. Cheers.
Incredible amount of effort going into these, I have a fully built RC10 and a K24 waiting to be built. I see people complaining about the cost but I think it’s about right given this isn’t a mass produced car from a big manufacturer. Also given the low production volumes they are likely to retain a lot of their value. The way I look at a car like this is you pay say £250 then get to enjoy the build and ownership, then if you get bored of it and want to move it on you could get back about £200 so you’ve effectively only spent £50. For me the build is the most enjoyable part so several evenings worth of fun for £50 isn’t that bad at all.
@@billymanilli this is true, Nigel from NRC did make available a full set of plastic parts for the NRC24 on Shapeways which is pretty handy, hopefully we will see the same for K24. Obviously this doesn’t cover you for everything but it does provide a decent amount of support for a lot of the stuff you are more likely to break.
That thing's freaking awesome dude I'm not even going to watch the whole video because I'm going to go to eBay and try and find one for myself. 💙💙 Don't worry though I'll come back and watch your video for sure
I JUST wish I could get replacement parts for all the Mini T 1.0s that I have money sunk into!!! ...or my $500+ Losi SNT! Holy crow, was that a waste of money. Losi/Horizon has absolutely atrocious (just about non-existent) parts/support. Therefore, I stay away from them now... It's a shame, too.
These are awsome little cars, im still hoping to get there rc10 version 🤞 all i can say is its a good job they didnt shrunk the split pins down to scale 😂
Yep I missed out on the RC10 myself. I tried to win a special edition on eBay but lost it in the last few seconds lol not sure if any of them will be made again
I actually thought that it would be smaller, as it was shown in the cover shot for this video, where it appears to be the size of a Matchbox or Hotwheels car, which are H.O. Scale or 1/64th scale, but it still is an interesting scale. I would like to know how long it would run at full throttle on a full charge, and I didn’t catch whether or not the motor is brushless, however I suspect it would be. Thanks for the review! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨🏎️
Well, it's a low production run, fully featured RC buggy using the same number of parts as a 1/10th buggy, metal oil shocks, carbon top deck and towers as well as bearings. Apart from raw materials, it's just the same as 1/10th if not a little more expensive to manufacture as your tolerances are way smaller. At the end of the day, it's personal choice what product gives you the most joy vs your own budget.
Don't get me wrong.. I do appreciate the craft and skill.. this hobby is my passion.. might have everything like the 10s.. in reality their not... Can't take'm to the 10 races... 😆. Love the 24 tho.. I have couple 18s... Love the miniatures
IMHO It's worth every penny. Scaling stuff down makes production harder. The amount of work that went into this is impressive especially for such a small company.
I think it’s slightly ironic that Losi gets so much hate for the Mini Jrx2 (though not the Mini B) but when some other mfg makes small enough replicas of vintage classics then everything is cool! Maybe the problem wasn’t the 1:16th Jrx after all but rather the lack of a 1:10th one.
The issue is the only choice is the Mini Jrx2 from Losi. I don't think anyone would mind the Mini if the 1/10th came out. The issue is it came out instead of the 1/10th Jrx2 so yes, I would agree with you.
Actually the micro t forum and the community had a buggy chassis that you can convert the micro T into the 1/24th scale race buggy. And losi had brushless systems that ran 7.4 lipo and up to 3s. The performance with the brushless system basically made this little buggy in the video look like a joke with better performance speed handling and durability. They also offered tons of aluminum upgrades and aluminum shocks that were oil filled as well.
For its size, it’s spot on. You can drive it faster but filming and driving are not the easiest lol. That and I didn’t have a chance to glue the tyres in time so if I pushed on the tyres fell off the rim. You could easy race these little things on that track
@@RCKickschannel Oh, haha, I didn’t mean $100 is what I’d want to pay for one. I meant if they could get their price about $100 lower I’d be interested. I saw your video mentioning them a week or two ago and looked them up… their listed price here in the US was close to $300 for the kit, all said and done I’m sure you could spend $450 for an operational car which I’m not willing to spend on such a thing awesome as it may be.
Interesting! Although I'm not into the mini z fad or the Losi mini stuff. But this looks cool. Did I see the tyres start to fall off when the on car cam was on?
I love the look of that little buggy, but I can't help wondering, what's the point of it? YOu won't be able to race it at many places I suspect, but then again Mini-Z racing is quite popular, so why not? Nice one!!
This actually went around the track well enough that you could take it with you and drive it more often. It was fast enough and turned really well with the servo I fitted to be fun enough to not just be a novelty.
Why did they choose to do 1/24 scale, i know Kyosho back in the days had 1/20 scale rc buggies, so why did NRC choose to do 1/24 that is realy tiny, tiny but cool.
I'm guessing now, but it's the engineering challenge I think. I need to ask Nigel from NRC Projects what is was. He also did an amazing RC10 Gold Pan but I missed the boat on getting one for the collection :(. NRC had a blue chassis limited edition on eBay for charity but I just missed out on winning that one.
You are most welcome @russlondon, happy to be of service ;) You have a good few choices of the electronics but I can give my choices a thumbs up as performance was good and getting it to work normally was just as easy as a normal 1/10th. You might be able to fine some cheaper options in the list that work just as well mind. One tip when building, make sure everything moves freely, especially the lower arms and top turnbuckles. Doing this really improved how it handled at the track.
LOL I think you completely missed the point of this scaled down replica of a vintage buggy and that tells me 100%, no this is not worth it for you at all. I would go with the WLToys 👍🏻.
@@RCKickschannel i totally understand your point but $250!!!! so over here in the UK your looking close to £300 after import duty. do you see my point lol
I’ll just go ahead and echo most of the other comments by saying $260 for a car this size with NO ELECTRONICS is more than a little asinine. And I don’t care that it’s carbon fiber. Somebody is on some real good drugs not only for asking that price with no electronics, but for paying for that with no electronics, too! I’ll just get a mini-z for that price that COMES WITH ALL the electronics!!
You have no idea what you're talking about. A mini z is a toy compared to this. You obviously don't know about REFLEX RACING RX28, RTRC RTA, NEXX RACING SPECTER or any of the GL Racing or Atomic Chassis. Very high quality small cars made of precision parts and tolerances compared to a plastic sloppy kyosho mini z. Don't get me wrong, I love my mini Zs but they are not comparable to any of the above mentioned chassis. The price is fair.
i bot the rc10 version , was the worst build experience i have ever had , its never worked , its possibly the worst car i ever bought , its seriously is just a shelf queen , so disappointed in this kit.
