“It's not a minor injury, it's a pretty deep tear. It's located in the deepest part of the hamstring and it's a big problem, because it's a large muscle. It is not easy to care for properly. The hamstrings don't have much blood flow, so they're more difficult to treat than other muscles. There is no need to be in a hurry in these cases. Nole must return to action only when he is sure he has fully recovered. Typically, the recovery time for this type of injury is two months." ~ Chris Fowler, ESPN Analyst
And onto more eras we will go. What's next won't be another big 3 era, but I think tennis is a good place and expect to be highly entertained by our sport in the coming years
My guess is Novak retires this year. He may have another run at one of the majors, but I don't see him banking number 25. More retirements and tough losses will doubtless come, and whether or not injury is the decisive factor, my guess is that an accumulation of tough losses stymy his motivation and make Novak accept that he can't be doing with all of it anymore
The big 3 era is coming to an end, I still remember when Roger Federer retired from tennis, all things must come to an end but we should be glad that it happened
I think Djokovic is clearly able to get the 25th slam, but it's tough to see him going through 7 Bo5 matches without injuries even if it's minor injuries and the possibility to play Alcaraz and Sinner is a nightmare, one only would be ideal because even if he's able to beat one, he'll never get out of that fresh and face the other not 100% or close to it would be a certain fail.
I’d love to see another slam but at the same time I think anyone who plays this sport knows how truly hard it is on the legs as you age. Obviously it’s a bit different for elite athletes and Novak clearly has a very strong injury prevention plan to make it this far. I think his best bet will be Roland Garros and Wimbledon because of the lessened impact. The American hard court swing will be especially challenging and I think at least 1 or 2 tune up tournaments will be necessary for the USO and at that point of the season we’re always seeing plenty of injuries from both tours.
I'm sick of people disrespecting a great player and a great man in Novak. He's beloved by all of the young tennis players and he's the best ambassador for the little guy in tennis there's ever been. I can't believe his reputation isn't one of a gentleman and a breaker of moulds.
Hey Courtside Tennis! I'm Italian and my English level is about B2-C1, but you're so clear and thanks to the subtitles I understand everything 😃. I wanna thank you for your tennis videos, always interesting and always polite to all tennis players (unlike some channels who spread lies about some tennis players just because they don't like them). Also the editing is amazing, I can't imagine how much times and energies you spend for these videos. I hope you reach at least 1 million subscribers. You deserve it
There's really nothing tragic about it. He's got the most majors ever, and father time catches up to every person. Its no big deal. We should be excited for the era to end knowing the future is bright.
I always liked Gulbis, but putting him in the same group as Coria, Gaudio, and Ferrero is kind of funny. I don't think he exactly reached their highs, but I agree his decline was really sudden.
These predictions and assumptions made are so wrong! Djokovic is still at his peak, there is no any physical decline yet. He is likely to play until 2028 and win many more slams, he could easily reach 30. He does not need to be at top 4, and if he did not get injured this year he would crush all top 3 players and win a title. No one is close to him. Everybody can get injured, Sinner and Alcaraz too.. Bad results iun 2024 is not start of Novak's decline at all. He was just not motivated enough and had knee injury which ruined two slams for him. I even expect Novak to finish this or next season as # 1 player in the world. I really do not know what are you people looking at. What nonsense of the video.
Djokovic never transcended the sport, you have players today who are more respected and have greather impact on the sport then djokovic, both Sinner and Alcaraz are more respected and promote tennis more then djokovic... not to mention true untouchable icons of tennis like Federer and Nadal. As for how long he is going to play? As long as he feels healthy and motivated, both are in question due to age and the fact that 2 greatest players who ever played are retired, and he competed against them majority of his career. He has most successfull career so motivation to win is in question as well. Its reasonable to asume 1 or 2 more seasons if he can stay healthy.
@emmanuelokosun7624 Djokovic fanatic spoted, 1 of the 10 😂. You saw at Australian open how he promotes the sport, when nobody respects his "class acts", we saw it at Wimbledon, we saw it everywhere. Alcaraz and Sinner are far more respected then djokovic. Federer and Nadal are mythological creatures compared to djokovic in terms of sport of tennis. And Federer IS tennis. Just like Michael Jordan is basketball. And Federer in retirement promotes tennis more then Nadal, Alcaraz, Sinner, and entire ATP tour combined. He is the Greatest of all time, in true sense of word.
Hey everyone! Just wanted to share some additional info about Novak's injury that wasn't in the video...

Does this mean we don’t get to see him until the Sunshine Double?
@@emmanuelokosun7624 For his sake, yes, it's probably going to be better that way for his recovery.
Karma

we are lucky to have witnessed RF, RAFA and NOLE play the sport we oh so love!
Three Kings Era 2011-2019.
And onto more eras we will go.
What's next won't be another big 3 era, but I think tennis is a good place and expect to be highly entertained by our sport in the coming years
You don’t need to be a Nole fan to want him win a 25th slam in 2025
He's won more than enough. I'd rather see a new face lift a major trophy.
@ I agree. Why not both?

You're the most objective, comprehensive tennis analyst on social media.
Appreciate that!
Fr I hope he gets to 100k subs this year. Only tennis analyst/news channel that I watch.
In as so utterly disappointed by the Ozzies booing Novak, i didn't watch the final. It was so distasteful.
All the tennis greats I grew up watching are retired only the goat Novak Djokovic remains
Wimbledon 2026 will be his last tournament.....

I’m calling it now. Novak will get his 25th slam this year and this comment will get over 500 likes. Wait and see! #Nolefam
Great video❤
Such a good breakdown
Aussie government was the reason why his grand slam lead isn't greater. Novak is the man!

I hope, he talks to fed and raf about continuing to play, I don’t want him to be injury ridden for the rest of his life.
Crazy to me that you only get like 15-20 years of peak performance before age clutches you and pulls you down
I’m sure the fan response to his retirement had him think about why he’s even playing rn
Unless a big injury happens I think Djokovic has a few more slam titles in his tank and is not close to retirement.
Knowing Novak, he'll recover from injury and win Roland Garros. 🎉🎉❤❤
Zverev is taking RG
I always liked Gulbis, but putting him in the same group as Coria, Gaudio, and Ferrero is kind of funny. I don't think he exactly reached their highs, but I agree his decline was really sudden.
I think Novak will only play in GS from now on and he will retire next year. 😢
i think a lot of us don't mind if he has played his last AO
And many more hope he will return to Melbourne and win there again.

You’re delusional. He is absolutely not at his peak that’s an insult to his legendary 2015 season and he can’t beat sinner.

where sinner video at?
Novak is cooked. At least he got one final big win over alcaraz. Sinner would have crushed him again anyways.
