Hullo, Claire! I've been watching your vids for awhile now (I subscribed) for 2 reasons: 1. You're so talented and a wonderful teacher! You don't hurry thru and you are very clear and precise. 2. I am a transplanted Scot living in the US and your voice reminds me of my Mum. Same accent AND she was a painter! So you bring me comfort on two levels. Thank you so very much for brightening my days. Blessings xo

Lindsey Warren I can’t tell you how much that message means. I had a semi-troll left a comment on a tuto very recently saying “will you JUST cut to the chase....” I spend the first part of tutorials explaining what I’m doing, why and with what kit. Otherwise it’ll make no sense. Plus, she could’ve fast forwarded. 99% of folks are like you. You’re awesome. It makes SUCH a difference you made the effort to message on the days you get the idiots 🌺🌺🌺🥀🥀🥀🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️

@@ClaireHoloway Oh, my dear! I am sorry that someone was so impolite to you. I understand that it is prob par for the course for UA-camrs, but it still stings, right? Glad to hear you say people don't need a huge tin of pencils to be effective and enjoy colouring! By the time Ms Basford got to "Ivy" the paper had increased in quality greatly thanks to many who wished to use various other media than colour pencils. I use a water brush which just puts out the right amount of water, with watercolour pencils I think it works well. Is less messy. Would liked to have seen the picture finished even if you didn't show us how to do it.

I love my water color pencils and have struggled with them in my coloring books. I have been using the water brushes and it's too much water. I've also tried the blending pens but otherwise away the color. I can't wait to try this tonight. I have the Artez a watercolor pencils and inktense. I hope it works with my inktense. Thank you for all your tutorials!

Yay for this tutorial!! I’ve been trying to find a good tutorial that would show me how to do this with a brush. Not a water brush!!! People who are used to watercolors use bigger brushes (#2) because they are more proficient using bigger brushes. I have tried blender pens and they work fine for me, but I want to figure out brushes so I don’t have to keep buying the pens to blend. I’ve been using too much water with the brush I’ve been using because it’s too big I think. I thought I needed a stiffer brush, but now I think I need a smaller one. Going to get a 3/0 and give a try again. Thanks for this tutorial.

This is a fantastic tutorial on how to use watercolor pencils in adult coloring books. I’ve always wanted to try prismacolor watercolor pencils but couldn’t find any good tutorial how to use them. I’m visiting an art store tomorrow where they have open stock on all types of pencils, I will be sure to pick up a few watercolors. 😀
