I love the safety position on this. Way better than those side to side safeties you commonly see on airguns

I'm 56 and have been shooting for about 50 years now. I still enjoy plinking and target shooting. This is the perfect backyard rifle to me. Added a CVLIFE 3-9x40 Optics R4 Reticle Crosshair Scope for $33 and this rifle gets the most use, along with my Sig Sauer P226.

I bought that same airgun for my son and I actually shoot it more than most of my other airguns. I love the thing. I have a little pellet catcher in my house and me and him shoot that gun indoors almost everyday. I would recommend it to anybody with a 7 to 10 year old that they want to introduce to any kind of gun or someone that just wants to plink around with something that won't penetrate through much. Glad to see u back Charles. Been missing ur videos.

I’m 13 and currently use a crossman break barrel air gun for squirrel hunting and that beast is heavy and I mean it

this is the problem with the American air gun market, in a break barrel you either get 1100+ fps or 495 fps, nothing in between. Offer us an adult size 800 fps 12 foot pound rifle and watch them fly off the shelf. And I am not asking anyone to re-invent the wheel, 12-foot pound gun is the industry standard in Great Britain

Glad you're back! Hope things are looking up for you. So the wasp thing reminded me of years ago when my girls wanted to play on the playset in the back yard, but there must have been a wasp nest in it somewhere because the wasps were buzzing us like crazy. Then I had a brilliant idea - use my Crosman 1100 CO2 shotgun to blow them out of the sky. I went inside and couldn't find any CO2 so I made a quick trip to my local Walmart. Went to the backyard and began blowing them out of the sky. After 6 or 7 they were all gone and my girls got to use the play set. Man that was fun! And I now have a Gamo Viper Express that would probably do the job too, although with less authority than the mighty 1100. Anyway, keep the great videos coming I'm glad you're back at it. :)

Great vid, nice short and perfectly informative review. My sons 8, almost 9 and like his dad a little guy. Currently shooting a Daisy BB gun old style lever cocking action, about 270-300 FPS. But always looking to step up a bit and definitely moving to pellets for us both. I’ll have a good gun capable of enough foot pounds to kill small game and the rats and rabbits that are waging war on my yard. Then something with more power for him.
Thanks again for another great vid. Your style is a welcome and refreshing change from the other reviewers. God bless! Welcome back!!!

If you like that little Ruger Explorer, you should try the Hatsan Alpha. Mine's had a "little work done" by my hand and it is incredibly accurate.

You seem like a guy who is tired of stress but also likes to take care of the ears. I spent all day plinking yestarday with my daughter. Had her using the umarex buck mark. It pinched her after i told her how to not get pinched 🤔 looking at other spring options. This may be it

My sister sent me a Slavia 618 break barrel rifle which was about 50 - 60 years old. Needed a new piston seal cup which I made out of a piece of leather. I drilled a hole just slightly larger than the inside of the piston tube and about 3/8” deep in a piece of wood. Soaked the leather for a day in water, then used a suitably sized socket and a C-Clamp to force the leather into the hole. While leather was drying I trimmed the leather flush with the top of the wood.
Drilled a hole in the center of the cup to mount the cup, oiled the leather, and then inserted the pump into the pump tube.
This little rifle is a sweet shooting gun. Very easy to cock, has nice sights and a good trigger. Has a rifled barrel to shoot .177 pellets.
