- In this video, I show off a bunch of useful tips and tricks to help lower your ping in Fortnite. The last ping optimization (network optimization) video I did was about 8 months ago so I decided to update it with a bunch of new and useful information to lower your in-game ping. These include Windows 10 Optimizations, Ethernet Tweaks, hardware I recommend such as MoCa Adapters and Powerline Adapters, as well as how to change your DNS Servers (DNS Settings) on console and PC. Let me know down below if this video helped lower your ping because it should work for both console and PC in Fortnite. Other Ethernet Drivers: If your adapter isn't any of those then search google for your adapter name till you find the drivers, Worst case scenario if you still can't find the drivers download CPU-Z from this link www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z... and open it then go to Main-board tab and beside model you are going to see your motherboard name, Search that up on google and type DRIVERS beside it and then click the official link (it should be obvious which is the official link) and then download the Ethernet drivers from there.

I’ve found that Wifi works for me as my booster isn’t close enough to the main router so I have to use a Wi-Fi card yet I have about 10 ping and no packet loss

I live in central Mexico so I used to get 80-100 ping. After the optimizations in past videos (and fiber) I have 50-60 ping.

@@nakcyit worked for me, what i did is i bought some cable clips on amazon(they are pretty cheap) and i used to run my ethernet cable trhough my house without it looking messy

Another, possibly even better option for the Ethernet dilemma, could be to just set up a second router on the same WiFi network and then use that for Ethernet. It’s close to the same price as the moca adapter and doesn’t just help with ping but it helps with the overall WiFi in your home.
@Flamez you wouldn’t be connecting it through WiFi. Kinda hard to explain it’s a long process and I still haven’t worked everything out just yet

I did that and I have connected my wifi modem to my router and I am currently using WiFi from my router and it’s still its slow. Like I get around 11 mbps in my setup room . So I should buy a long Ethernet cable to connect my router to my console right?

*Make sure you test ping your ISP's DNS server which should be automatically set in your router's settings. Most of the time your ISP's DNS is actually closer/faster than a 3rd party's DNS like Google.*
Wrong dns server is a routing table it uses to connect to other servers. If your isp has no idea what game server you are looking for the hand it off till you get where you want to go. Ibternet servers are not optimised for game traffic. The ibternet is not a straight highway from server to server its a spider web that if any path is broken it reroutes you. There is very little anyone can do when it comes to dns. Also ping is the round teip from you to the server and back. You could be across the street from a server and have 100 ping while someone 2000 miles away has 10. Physical location means nothing on the internet. The switches, modems, and routers your data travels thru is out of your control and their congestion and speed matter.

Does changing you DNS server affect your computer in any way with certain things? And if you want to go back to ur original ISP then how do you do that?
it wont change anything and just but dns server automatically on checkmarked so its back to normal

Bro that one at the end about the DNS server settings was exactly what I was looking for. I remember doing this years ago on my gaming pc for CSGO and I couldn't find those damn numbers. And I just clicked on ur video like a last resort thinking maybe ud offer some other advice. Yo Jerian I’m on laptop and I try all the performance boost guides and stuff but when I put it on like Mac performance (for FPS) my brightness whenever I’m in a fight changes drastically and it makes it hard to see so you have any recommendations for that?

I'm having problems with the manual dns tip. I don't have periods to click to, just a bar. (Edit: for IPv6, the preferred server is as follows: (A) 2001:4860:4860:8888 OR (B) 2001:4860:4860:0:0:0:0:8888 and the alternate server is as follows: (A) 2001:4860:4860:8844 OR (B) 2001:4860:4860:0:0:0:0:8844. Hopefully this helps.)
Edit: I noticed Jerian has IPv4 and I have IPv6 I know about zero things related to pc and optimizing them so does this have something to do with my problem?
Second edit: after literally 30 seconds of looking into it, IPv6 needs a different address for the preferred and alternate dns servers, so maybe if you say this tip in the future, please include the IPv6 version, but for anyone who needs it, I will put it at the top of this comment.
