The first time I saw this old fella he broke my heart. I'm glad to see he's got a warm safe place and a bed. He's lucky and doesn't know it yet. Bless you for taking him in.
He knows that he is lucky. I had a cat that was on the streets when I adopted him. Once he was home with he purrs when it was raining outside because he knew he did not have to worry about the rain anymore
That poor old man. He's had such a hard painful life, thank you for saving him and giving him the kindness and care he deserves. I hope he recovered well and is adjusting to his new life.
The old boys are the best, and so loving and happy when they have a real home, after their days of scrounging for food and fighting off other toms. Feral girls don't get to live as long because of repeated pregnancies, just wears them out. It's heart-breaking to see the love and relief in their eyes when they know they are loved at last.
He, perhaps, is for the first time in his life receiving love, care and respect. How long he has been alive we do not know, but fortunately this cat's life changed for the better, he found good people and he had the value he deserved.
We are looking after an old chap like him. Probably never been loved and never had a name. He had arthritis and is not fast enough to catch food. In the winter he can hardly move. He is so friendly and purrs with happiness and gratitude. He loves us and we love him. He would have made a lovely pet for a family, feral yet so gentle and trusting.
That'd be great. One of our fantasies. Win the lottery create a nature preserve and awesome campground and a huge animal rescue. For large and small animals to live out a safe free life.
I found my cat, Jeff, in the country side near my apartment. He was starving, covered in fleas and ticks, his rib cage was exposed, had roundworms, scars, and a bleeding cut. He was so sweet and I picked him up and took him home. Almost a year later, he is a happy and healthy boy.
I'm so happy you rescued him! I rescued my kitty from my local shelter. She was SO scared and timid at first, but now she's the biggest cuddle baby. I love cats so much. They make your life so much better.
Beautifully said A certain amount is natural A certain amount is care My heart goes out to all the beautiful people who save the lives of animals I'm afraid most of human nature is perverse
I loved that stretch, too!!! He was very excited about the food and I had to laugh because from time to time my cat will take little bits from the bowl and eat off to the side.
@@Dani92670 I love the way he strech himself and eats enthusiastically !!!! This is a cat I would like to cook for ....😺 My cats I took in as babies are too spoiled .... 😹
This reminded me of my friend Big Tig. He was totally unsocialised when he first came to our door looking for food. I managed to catch him in a purpose built trap, had him neutered, and took him home to recover. When he was released, he simply walked around the house and took up residence on the back dooor step. He wouldn’t let anyone touch him, but I finally won him over with food. After months of winning his trust, I finally ended up with the most loving creature ever. He didn’t trust anyone other than my husband and me, but to us he gave his love unconditionally.
Whoever stole his little plastic cat house is horrible and mean and can go to hell how could somebody do that thank you guys for taking this poor fella and needs extreme help breaks my heart to see animals in that kind of condition God bless you guys for helping out
9988ScooterGirl. True, true. But do you honestly think that a plastic box on its side with a blanket in it, and would most likely CLEARLY have cat hair on it, wouldn't be an obvious home for an animal?
I adopted a stray cat 5 years ago. He had FIV and was in a sad condition. Took him to my vet and she took best care of him. Now he's doing fine and he's my best friend. It warms my heart to see that there are more people out there who care for these very special animals. God bless you.
This world is so cruel. All the sadness and pain makes me wonder what the point is anymore. I wish God would just come back and put an end to all of this suffering. I can't wait for the day he destroys all evil. That's the only reason I have any hope. Well that and seeing the good people in this world helping other living beings who are suffering
A man stole his home, what kind of bastard could do that taking a poor cats home😿 these kind of people always think about themselves never think about life around them. Who ever saved this cats life GOD BLESS THEM
I honestly doubt that he did it intentionally. We have that problem where I live. We have several people who help take care of some feral colonies, and it is likely someone found it and thought it was just a discarded container. They should be marked clearly as "CAT SHELTER"
The replies kinda stink. Every human is referred to as a man. That’s why we’re called mankind and not menkind or womenkind. 😄 So technically op’s right. A selfish man (women, men and those who don’t label fit the spectrum) stole this cat’s container home. I cried there a little 😕 how selfish of them.
@@heyhoe168 Perhaps, but every time we humans save the life of a neglected or abused animal, it is a small victory for the human race and a huge victory for the animal saved.

How wonderful of you to take care of a poor old cat that lived on the for so long ! He is scared and wary of humans but love and caring will turn him around ! He is beautiful ! And loves his cat bed . . To see so cozy and warm finally ! He is content 😌
I see a cat who, a long time ago, was someone's pet. He's been on his own for so so long and treated poorly. He remembers, deep inside the feeling of comfort that having a protective human watching over him. I try not to judge, life is full of rotten surprises that can deprive us of all we have. I hurt when I see his condition and the obvious yearning in his eyes. Bless you for giving him another chance to know comfort, security, peace and maybe even love. Please keep doing what your doing.
Yeah, I've been wondering if he's truly feral, myself. It can be so hard to tell, especially when they're sick and/or have been on their own for a long time. He just seems awfully comfortable with being indoors and letting people physically near him for a full feral, but who's to say? He might turn out to be a sweet former pet or an absolute wild man once he's feeling better.
Yeah, my best guess was stray, rather than feral. Then again, you never know. If he's otherwise unable to care for himself, he may be smart enough to decide that trusting a human beats starving to death. Cats are very smart like that.
@@defectiveshark7602 Unless he was sedated she would not have been able to tuck in a feral. Ferals would just as soon kill you if they could. A street-wise stray is what at lease half of them are. You can NEVER wait for a feral to calm down and get used to you. However, you absolutely can with a street-wise stray. Just because it lives on the street or even in a colony does NOT automatically make it a feral. There's a HUGE difference. I've been in rescue for years. I know the difference.
A lot of people don't realize how lucky they are until you see something like this and put yourself in this Kitty's place... Or anyone's place who is living on the street with no help and no love
@@54pjs To help a human requires to be wise and analyze if that person is worthy of your help or not, we are intelligent enough to discern if someone is really suffering for circumstances he or she was not able to control, like someone losing his house because he lost his job, etc, to help a human requires faith, patience, forgiveness, compassion, and character, its not an easy task, but is the ultimate sacrifice a person can give, give up his life for others, because if we do good only to those that are doing good to us, where is the reward on that, but loving those that hate us or those who don’t show any gratitude, that’s what compassion is all about, thats what forgiveness is all about, and that’s the measure from which God is going to judge us, but we have to be wise to act according to the circumstances, and the specific situation, sometimes is better to back down and be far away from certain people.
Yeah. I’m more of a “let me cure this cat back to health and see how I deal with things after” instead of a “what about all the money I’m about to waste on this cat?! I feel bad but I’m not taking him in” person. Even if it’s for the night, I’d take the cat in and then think about that. A homeless or abandoned cat deserves to have a nice place to sleep in and the streets don’t do that. After a bath, food, check up and sleep I’d feel better looking for someone who’ll take them in and take care of them if I can’t. 😕 A night costs nothing other than human kindness and empathy. It’s just a night, people who think like that are thinking of months and years with a cat.
Ha! My old guy is "Prince Leopold III"...HE HAS ONE TOOTH! When I had to rescue 4 kittens born in late fall, he got really jealous and started shitting randomly in the middle of the floor, so now he lives in the garage. He has that same squishy bed, with a heated pad underneath.

There are probably at least a dozen people, if not more, in this thread who have rescued animals in distress. There's always room for more people doing it.
@@shammydammy2610 I am. I have two ferals living inside the house and a random assortment coming and going outside. There are good people in the world.
What's really missing is everyone asking themselves and others "how can we prevent it?". Prevention is always better than cure and will always mean less suffering.
I'm like them. I save cats. My sister feeds many feral cats also as people drop so many off in the Park area she lives near. Together we help whoever comes along. We do the best we can for all of them. Even have cat houses with electric heating pads made for animals so they keep warm and have shelter. The Lord God Almighty created animals for a reason and not to be abused by humans. He put them on the Ark and that speaks volumes.

Madeleine VL thank you for saving him. you will always be in his heart.
Awww
You’re a Hero
Thank you s2
I'm so happy you rescued him! I rescued my kitty from my local shelter. She was SO scared and timid at first, but now she's the biggest cuddle baby. I love cats so much. They make your life so much better.
When he buries his head into the cushion, it’s like he is trying to erase all the bad memories of suffering and starving and fighting.
I know!!!
Exactly.
Actually it’s just nature like when we put our heads in the pillow lol y’all so soft

When he snuggled into the bed, I cried❤❤🐾🐾
2:23 - That long stretch made me smile. He's prob thinking, I haven't had a nice nap like that in forever, and oh wait, there's food over there?
I loved that stretch, too!!! He was very excited about the food and I had to laugh because from time to time my cat will take little bits from the bowl and eat off to the side.
Me too 😀 it was so leisurely they way he did it
@@Dani92670 I love the way he strech himself and eats enthusiastically !!!! This is a cat I would like to cook for ....😺
My cats I took in as babies are too spoiled ....
Thank you for sharing this beautiful story.

Watching him climb into that fluffy, soft bed and snuggle down made me so happy.
Whoever stole his little plastic cat house is horrible and mean and can go to hell how could somebody do that thank you guys for taking this poor fella and needs extreme help breaks my heart to see animals in that kind of condition God bless you guys for helping out
And you know for a fact that whoever took it knew a cat was using it for a home?
9988ScooterGirl. True, true. But do you honestly think that a plastic box on its side with a blanket in it, and would most likely CLEARLY have cat hair on it, wouldn't be an obvious home for an animal?
@@EmiPlayzMC yea your right
I adopted a stray cat 5 years ago. He had FIV and was in a sad condition. Took him to my vet and she took best care of him. Now he's doing fine and he's my best friend. It warms my heart to see that there are more people out there who care for these very special animals. God bless you.
Thanks a lot for giving him a home and good care😊😊👍👍👍👍👍👍
Well done. Well done. Bravo!

I love him so much, bless you my dear old cat❤ And you guys are blessings of God. Keep up your good work my loves.
You can tell by how fast he's eating, it's like he's trying to get it all down before it gets stolen
My cats eat even faster even though they get a bit too well fed.

Not a behavior unlike humans with food insecurity
This world is so cruel. All the sadness and pain makes me wonder what the point is anymore. I wish God would just come back and put an end to all of this suffering. I can't wait for the day he destroys all evil. That's the only reason I have any hope. Well that and seeing the good people in this world helping other living beings who are suffering

A man stole his home, what kind of bastard could do that taking a poor cats home😿 these kind of people always think about themselves never think about life around them. Who ever saved this cats life GOD BLESS THEM
You don't know it was a man.
I honestly doubt that he did it intentionally. We have that problem where I live. We have several people who help take care of some feral colonies, and it is likely someone found it and thought it was just a discarded container.
They should be marked clearly as "CAT SHELTER"
Why assume it was a man?
The replies kinda stink. Every human is referred to as a man. That’s why we’re called mankind and not menkind or womenkind. 😄 So technically op’s right. A selfish man (women, men and those who don’t label fit the spectrum) stole this cat’s container home. I cried there a little 😕 how selfish of them.
@@3thalluing339 why couldn’t he just said a person
He looks like life has been monstrously unfair to him. It breaks my heart....bless you. Bless you with all possible ways for giving him kindness.
Never forget, that for 1 saved cat, there are thousands dying in unknown in the same hellish conditions. Life is unfair bitch in general.

Amen, indeed! Please don't give up on him.
@@mircat28 Thats something new I learned! Thanks.
A lot of people don't realize how lucky they are until you see something like this and put yourself in this Kitty's place... Or anyone's place who is living on the street with no help and no love
Love that name, by the way.
It's hard when you don't know whens the next time you'll eat poor baby.😭
Thank you, from the bottom of our 💖's for taking him in, and to the Vet. Now he had a home, for the rest of his life. God Bless.

Everyone says “we need more people like them” but no one says “ we need to be like them”
There are probably at least a dozen people, if not more, in this thread who have rescued animals in distress. There's always room for more people doing it.
@@apollomann9540 Mine is in the hallway behind me. He stays there so he can watch me no matter what room I go into.

@@limiv5272 I think THEY'RE looking for the word stray. They have stated many times that he is a feral cat. Yes I would agree that his behavior matches one of a stray cat rather than a feral one.
