I found this song after being sexually assaulted and that part hit the core of my soul and I just sobbed. This whole song is such a masterpiece and every moment resonated with me.
same. i found it today. almsot a year to the day i was s/a- ed for the last time (for now)/s/a ed for the first time by my (ex) boyfriend. god it broke me but the chills and the emotion i felt in that moment. it’s going on my playlist of songs to smoke to
I hope you're doing well too, stranger. I wish healing toward you and everyone in this comment thread. Trigger warning , I am also trauma dumping: I found the song randomly listening to the dj thing on Spotify I think during the Spring, but I saved it and never listened again. Only a couple weeks ago during one of my breakdown episodes thinking about past trauma, I refound the song and that part got me. I couldn't even say stop when IT happened, but that scream in the song is just.. it's just how my brain has been, genuinely lol. This song has been on repeat for a couple weeks now. I'm doing (not) great lol. I gotta listen to this whole album now.
The scream feels more cathartic to me when compared to the rest of the song. It’s like the one time she expresses the true horror she feels about the assault. Her softly pleading for it to stop was the hardest part of the song to get through.
The scream is supposed to be Hayden’s character, Ethel, being canabalized by the man who she rode around with in the west in his truck, and her telling him to stop.
I will never forget first hearing that moment honestly. I was literally lying on my bed, passive listening experience first, just drifting, reading a book. The lights were dim. And then it hits and I am SWALLOWED. I am DROWNING in the sound. It was like a whole ass awakening. Amazing.
i feel like the way men & women hear it is an amazing way to see how differently we are treated, the men are surprised & seemingly disgusted by it while the women feel a sense of calm w it, they almost expect it in a way, they feel the build up to it
The difference between Masc and Fem aligned people's reactions where the masc aligned people tend to be completely surprised the fem aligned people while still shocked seem to understand what it's supposed to represent a lot quicker.

I listen to a lot of extreme metal so I’m used to screaming but her scream is another world. This album made me cry. I sobbed.
same I get chills from both and that says something. girl is on another level
Because it's honestly, not a metal scream. It's a scream of pain and agony. So deep I feel it trough my chest.
Right? I love metal, but that was not a metal scream, that was on a whole entire different level
most of the men being terrified and the women looking like proud moms😭😭

For me the hardest part is the flies buzzing. I have to skip it every time it is so unnerving.

The way almost none of the guys saw the buildup to the scream and got caught off guard by it is crazy.
I was listening to a Spotify radio while taking a nap and woke up to her screaming during this part and immediately hearted the song
