Made the jump this black friday to upgrade from my 9918sc A motors to the current 9918c revision. excited as a lot has changed in the 7 years I've had my first set of 99s, and it's hard to beat the sound. And after years of running atleast a 10k per woofer, the suspension hasn't worn out like alot of other woofers I've tried. worth the money
MB has definitely influenced me grab some DD audio products. I never heard of them before watching his channel. I look at their site quite often and grab some of the specials they offer randomly. Most recently, on black Friday, they had a flash sale on 818F subwoofer for 399, and i got a set of redline components for free. Of course, everyone doesn't have the space nor the power for that kind of driver but just giving yall an example that dd is making it possible for us to try some of there products on the low. PSA!!
@@jlee8262 did you get the 818f? That’s such a crazy deal I wanted to grab one but I have no reason to I got a 9921 when they were on sale couple months back lol
@TheMlf yes sir I did! 9921!!! Now that's a sub! That was still too much money for me on that sale but maybe I will catch it again. I like collecting things I couldn't afford when i was younger. DD is new to me and i really like their stuff. Such a ridiculous deal on the 818 though I couldn't pass up. Lord knows I don't need another subwoofer but he showed me that one so I got it! Seriously thinking about grabbing a 812F & a DD Audio amplifier to push it. Since my trunk space is very limited i cant really do 2 12's or a Single 15 so i want a single 12 that will send waves through the car body & possibly break something in the trunk!!! Currently under feeding a Avatar 1300-1600watts in a 2.0cuft box & loving it. I got that 12 for $260 brand new & its a very Good subwoofer. But im liking what i see from DD more & more, especially after i upgrade the alternator & add a battery to the trunk.
@@TheMlf I saw that price!!! Not gonna lie it had me running out to the trunk with a Tape measure hoping my truck had a BBL since my last measurements😂🤣😂. Sadly a 15 will fit but I'd have to use a undersized enclosure which I'd rather not do. So there's No chance a 18 is Gonna work without building the box in the truck & loosing all available trunk space!!! (2013 Acura TSX). I'm bout to order a 320-370amp alternator & throw a XS battery in the back on all OFC 0gauge everything. Right now I got a unused JP23V2 (2800-3200watts) ready to power up my Avatar to its fullest. But I always keep the next Woofer on hand for when the one in use blows so I been looking heavy at the 812F, Xv.3, ZV5, Death Penalty, 3512, 4512, or a HCCA as the next trunk killer. If I go DD then I'm a grab a matching Amp & keep the JP on Reserve???

To clarify, this doesn't mean that a 10 dB increase results in a sound being twice as intense in terms of power or pressure. A 10 dB increase corresponds to a tenfold increase in the intensity or power of the sound. Lastly here is fun little fact..if you know a subs power handling and sensitivity you can roughly calculate how loud the sub can play
@@remisouth5695 - Yes 10Db is what it takes for the human ear to perceive a doubling of Loudness. Math on paper vs real world testing are 2 different thing's. I & many of my team mates on a car audio team (I have 35+ years of Audio experience), have used term lab power probes for years. We test Db per watt, & almost never get close to +3Db per 2x power, unless its very Low power, like under 500 watts. Power compression, enclosure size, port area, vehicle, weather, freq., can all play a factor in why +3Db doesn't happen. You can't accurately calculate how loud a woofer can actually play, just by power handling, & sensitivity. You can on paper, but that usually is much different in reality. Not to mention high eff. Drivers require refrigerator sized enclosures to achieve that rating. Also the sen. Rating is obtained @ 1 watt, @ 1 meter, or @ 2.83 volts, @ 1 meter. By the way 1 watt/1 meter will show a much lower sen. Rating vs @ 2.83 volts/1 meter. If the Mfg. doesn't tell how the sen. Rating was obtained it is more than likely tested @ 2.83 volts, as this will give a higher # to show for marketing= to get more sales. As power is increased it will gain Less, & Less Db per watt, making calculation's almost useless. More useful for which woofer can get louder= Mass X Acc.= Force + how quick a woofer can stop factors in more than you think. Plus Bore X Stroke (Cone Area times X Max), these are all much more useful in terms of SPL potential. Also in general a higher sen. Woofer will not play as Low of a freq., as easily as a Low sen. Woofer. Another strong point of a lower sen. Woofer is that it can play lower freq., in a smaller enclosure. These are general guidelines, there can be exceptions to these guidelines, of course.
