I'm not one of them. I only use Jperm when I'm learning f2l, full oll, and full pll. I never use the beginner last layer approach because I used 2-look oll and 2-look pll when I was a beginner.
Great video and as a speedcuber myself, I love how positive the community is I mean you solved a rubiks cube in a minute and your whole comments section is filled with my cubing friends, Its a wholesome community and we love to see cubing grow.Keep it up!
@@Fletcho. yeah and also you kinda disrespected the whole ass community by calling the biggest youtuber j perm "perm" so umm.... you need to comeback lol
Rubik's cubing is so fun, it was great to see you improving and the joy that it brings because this is pretty close to my journey, I went from about 3 minutes (my first solve by myself) to under a minute in just under a week back in 2018, now in 2024 I average under 10 seconds and have tons of friends I meant at competitions and other cubing related things. It's crazy how a simple toy made to teach engineering students about moving parts can create a whole community. Whether you continue to improve or not, there are always people who love what you love and that you can connect with, you just gotta find them. Hobbies are a crazy thing sometimes man.
8:00 since sleeping is actually when your brain memorizes and compiles memorized things the most, you'll likely have everything engraved in your mind after waking up, opposite of what you thought.
Great vid, hope you stay around in the speedcubing space, there is so much to learn, and improving is really fun. Dont feel to bad about taking a bit to improve your times, ive had the same personal best single for over a year.
Hey man, this video is amazing! The editing, the storytelling, just everything. I'm a speedcuber myself and average around 11 seconds, and the fact that you've been able to get a sub 1 minute single in 5 DAYS is crazy. But yeah man improvement does tend to slow down as you get faster at solving the cube. It takes me weeks or even months to improve by just a second. I know you're probably not going to pick up speedcubing as a hobby, but it really is a fun one and I look forward to future videos man!
I average just under ten and it took me almost two years to go from averaging sub12 to sub10. 😂😂 about 8 years total to get to this point, and I don’t think I’ll ever stop.
@@dylangirouard Yeah I've been cubing for a year and a half now and I'm really satisfied with my improvement so far. I hope to be sub 11 by August and I hope you can sub 8 soon!
learning CFOP is hard as hell but if you learn to do it (starting with OLL-PLL, start with cross to yellow side for OLL, and A-perm to U-perm for PLL) then you can really see improvement, after working on it for years, you might get down to a ten second average if you're lucky, but be careful because once you start speedsolving, you never stop
4:35 She actually got JPerm (aka Perm) to teach her in person. Well done though. Keep at it. Bit of F2L and you'll be sub 30 before you know it. Also loved your reaction to getting a good cube 🤣 Rubik's brand cubes should be considered cruel and unusual punishment.
You're so underrated, this video was so fun to watch! I recently got into rubik cube solving and seeing you progress from 55 min to 55 seconds is crazy!
Don't get discouraged if you're times aren't improving. It actually really impressive that you get sub 1 minutes in a week. The first time I did a timed solve i got 10 minutes. But I continued to practice. I went from 10 mins to 9 mins, 9mins to 7 mins, 7 mins to 5 mins , 5 mins to 3 mins, 3 to 1 min. One minute to 30 seconds. I am now sub 20. This took around 4 years because I took lots of breaks. What you did was really impressive. Good Job Fletcho!
Hey man great video! Would love for you to keep going. Just a tip though you're always improving your consistency. The cubing community mostly values your average rather than a single solve. Anyone can get lucky once, but getting 5 good times in a row is impressive. Keep it up
The quality of these videos you put out NEVER cease to amaze. Fletch, the amount of effort you are putting into your videos can be clearly seen and I want to take the time to appreciate that. Thanks for the video to watch❤
As others have said, I watched through this for a while before I looked at the views and was shocked to find this video has under 400 views. The quality is insane! I'd love to see you continue this hobby - learn CFOP or Roux, use some actual scrambles rather than hand scrambling etc.
when bro discovered magnetic cubes i was so happy for him, I average around 21 seconds with of course, a magnetized cube (which is a bit expensive lol). Maybe you can try to solve a 2x2 cube under 30 seconds! I remember that when i used 2x2 beginners method, I got solves like 23-25 seconds, with quite a bit of practice, so its prob possible to get sub 30 in a week!! I average around 5 seconds on 2x2 using a method called "Ortega". A tip for improving and not getting angry and mentally tired is to only cube when you feel like it, when you are like craving to turn a cube.
J-Perms voice is so calming. I just realised how adicted i am to speedcubing content lmao. Btw. While watching this video I got a 5 move double X-Cross + free pair + easy LL

That is quite good actually, I can rarely average below 20 seconds even after 5 years of cubing, even though I took a 2 year break at one stage. I average at around 20-23 seconds usually. My pb is 14 seconds and my pr in competitions is 22.11 single and 26.79 average (because I did poor in the competitions I joined and got a few +2s which didn’t help)
How does this only have 144 views, I started watching this and i thought I was watching a UA-camr that had millions of subs, w content im subbed now too btw :D
Way to go Fletcho! Good job on beating Michelle! The same J perm guy that made the tutorial also has tutorials to get faster.
Congrats! Under 60s even if it's occasionally, it's a great time for 5 days. Welcome to the cubing club. The first cube you bought, the one with no brand name, it's a QiYi Warrior. Classic cheap but good turning cube to kill time. For some reason in the last months they ULTRULIBRICATE the 3x3 and feels uncomfortable to touch, but if you clean it, it's a good fast cube toy to play time to time. That plastic it's cheap but very smoth, turns perfect and fast. The second one it's another classi, one of the cheapest magnetic cubes and the favorite of the community overall. But I prefer the Meilong 3M, same price but different feeling. More soft, more silent. The spring noise of my RS3M 2020 it's something that I don't like. The 3 Meilong 3M I have, don't have that noise and turns smoother. Very satisfying. Another good cheap magnetic one it's the QiYi MS Pro, it's more "clickier" and keeps the cube shape more strongly but turns very easy. Its diferent. But it's also unnecessary ultralubricated...
