Yay, living vicariously through hauls! I love your picks: I still have my Something Weird DVD of Bloody Pit of Horror, and for nostalgia I think that will always be my one copy. That lobby card of Frankenstein Created Woman is GORGEOUS. Super cool of it to be giallo-colored for you, too! 🤔
Love these videos, Katie. Libido and The Other Hell are on my list of films to see and I’m so glad you are into Bloody Pit of Horror - one of my very first Euro films. That Crimson Executioner sticker rocks. My recent haul after behaving for a while: The three Erocoli/Nieves Navarro giallo, including Forbidden Photos of a Lady Above Suspicion. Forgotten Gialli Volume 2 from Vinegar Syndrome The Vol. 3 Spanish Gothic set from Severin Crimes of the Black Cat Perfume of the Lady in Black This should hold me over for a while.
That was probably Severin's best sale since they've been doing them. Lots of amazing deals and a good time for anyone starting to curate their physical media collection. Great timing for you! Vinegar Syndrome is doing something similar this weekend for their Labor Day sale. Lowest prices I've ever seen from them. Unfortunately I (and many others) have already purchased many of those sub-$10 titles when they're were "on sale" for $17-$20. Ha!
It doesn't matter where you get your movies. Or your band shirts. The most important thing is that you got something that you love and cherish. And that is a lobby card. Not a poster. I wish that theaters still had lobby cards.
Sweet additions from Severin you have there, Katie! I'm due to revisit Next of Kin, it was an interesting watch with a legendry final act. Didn't liked The Other Hell so much than I'd expected because you know how Bruno Mattei is, hehe. Libido is an early giallo I plan on watching soon, getting ready for Gialloween again. Enjoy them all this month when you can, and keep the passion for horror/cult alive! 😎👍
And here I was sure you would get Private Crimes. It should be right up your alley(and mine). It’s a bit tame but has great atmosphere and Edwige is great in it. Very cozy.
They are called Lobby cards Katie. Great pick ups, I love Libido and Bloody Pit of Horror. Just discovered the channel Katie, massive Italian Horror fan from the UK, I love it and will start working through the backlog.
Well congrats on your new cats!! and glad your dog is better. And maybe 'poser' was the wrong word here but i was just getting a sense that buying your physical media off amazon was not the desirable way to add to your collection in the eyes of these hardcore collectors. lol. You're right about convenience. And there's also accessibility/affordability, etc. I only just got over the 'living wage' threshold so i've been buying DVDs secondhand which is probably technically ALSO frowned upon because you're not supporting the label. And i still hold on to a lot of what i call 'poor girl habits' which SOMETIMES brings me back to amazon. But yeaaah i guess you could go on a huge tangent with that subject. And for what it's worth i use amazon WAY less than i used to and i do not pay for prime bc they suck!
@@KatieoftheNight You do seem a bit exhausted Katie! New Cats and a Dog? For sure you're mistaking me for someone else... or just messing with me lol Not a dog person, never had a dog as a pet, and currently only a Cat sitter. Nice haul there. Bloody Pit of Horror is a cheesy fun classic. I recently watched Next Of Kin for the first time about 3 years ago and really liked it. I saw it on the documentary Not Quite Hollywood about the Australian exploitation movies. You should check that one out too when you get a chance.
I should give Bloody pit of horror a rewatch....maybe? Lol. I thought it was "alright" when I watched it. Never went back to it. Daisy is a cute lil baby!!!! A family friend is apparently being kicked out of their house, so we are taking in her cats. Got 2 of them last night and I took one look and them and....I'm already in love with em. I was very concerned about my dog's health for a couple of days, but he's better. What ever it was is out of his system. He's looking a lot better. I love that baby dog. I need to watch Next of kin. Blacula is pretty good. Not a favorite, but for what it is, it's pretty good. I prefer other horror blackpolitation flicks. Never given Blackenstein a chance. I've never been bought band merch. If I did it would definitely be Jack off Jill, Acid witch, Electric Wizard, Madonna, and maybe Abba. But ya, I totally remember the stigma around buying band shirts and overall merch from hot topic. Never made sense to me, other then "anybody can go to Hot topic" Ya....CONVENIENCE IS A BAD THING?! I buy all my DVDs off of Amazon. So I guess that makes me a "poser" too no matter how many times I've seen these films; longer then them probably. Seen far more films, far more then them most probably, etc and let me be clear...I HATE, HATE amazon. I really do, but there is no "ethical" consumerism by and large, and it's not up to me to make individual choices. It's up to me to support/vote for those who will make them pay their workers well, regulate them, force them to act more ethically, pay their fair share of taxes, tax them 90% just like in the 1950's, etc. That is my personal responsibility. Outside of that, it aint my fault. Oh and I checked out some of Marilyn manson's new songs. Really good. I love the song As sick as the secrets within. Really really good. Anyway....gonna watch A nightmare on elm street 5 for today's movie. The uncut version and eat some home made chinese food. Can't wait.

Also, everyone loses points from me when they buy on Amazon but that's just me.
