Sorry for your loss. I only use JR gear and have never had issues. I fly my 1/7th scale mkIX Spitfire as well as foamies all on JR gear from Tx to Rx, not that I worry about the foamies, but I worry about injuring innocent people in the area if something goes wrong. Never cheap out on your radio gear because you're risking more than just your model for the sake of saving a carton or two of beer in money.
I don't want to sound like some kind of fanboi, but every single Spektrum component I have bought has been flawless. I have had a few radio malfunctions, but only from aftermarket products (y adapter, servo extension), or my own careless setup.
Tx for posting, beautiful vid. Agree with most comments. Here's the thing: Frsky clones don't work in the Listen-Before-Talk protocol that was introduced around 2014. I downgraded my T14SG in order to save a lot of money. Software version 4.0 is the last protocol that supports Frsky receivers. Never had problems with them in about 100 flying hours. For my more expensive birds, with telemetry, I use Futaba FASSTEST Rx. T8FG Tx works well with Frsky too.
Sorry for that man! About Futaba, I stopped using their equipment 20 years ago due to losing models for crappy Futaba (original) receivers. While this was back in the 72mhz era, their quality was bad, and many friends who flew with Futaba would buy brand new equipment every 3 years, as they knew that after 3 years these things started happening. I went to Airtronics and never looked back at Futabas. Just by opening the TX cases, one could see that the build quality of the Airtronics was many miles ahead of the cheaply made Futabas. Now I fly Frsky TX and RX, and had no problems for several years.
I will never understand saving money for an receiver in this kind of model. Using cheap clone stuff in foamies is okay, but not in rc stuff that could make a lot damage to people when coming uncontrolled down !!! Congratulations, you saved a looooot of money 👍
Frysky in my mind is a second rate receiver. I will only use Futaba, JR, spectrum, or hitec receivers. I will not risk my investment to some fly-by-night receiver.
No zdarza sie...
An electrical engineer speaking, good gear is expensive for a reason. We can always cut a few corners, but not if we are working with the Futaba QA process.
That was a beautiful model sorry about the loss. I stopped using frsky after a couple of them slowly went bad; i think a component slowly degraded. Only lost a nano talon, still stings though. Emailed frsky, no response. Done with them.
Yeah my bad. The frsky clones are supposed to be reliable. They aren't cheap (30 pounds). I was using a futaba but that go seconded into my swift a few months ago.
@@jimbo32010 Huh oki sorry to you for the happens! I dont understand why person use only cheap rx or DX..in high end Models?!?!. That only what your Model let be alive is the RX and DX.... I fly whit Multiplex SX9 and Jeti DS 16 II. All these ar not cheepest electronical, but i dont have any time no signal lost!! My MPX rx 9 cost 115 - 125 € also the Jeti rx!! You pay 30 pounds for a rx? hm thats very cheep! The MPX receiver even works with 2 receiver pairs at the same time!! Which can also be programmed! So that only 1 part works and if there is a loss or signal problems, the 2nd receiver area switches on. It's a bit different with the Jeti receivers, but quality is absolutely the main focus here. There are also a few people in my club who have had signal losses with the normal Frysky and Spektrum receivers, and therefore model losses too! And that's exactly why I NEVER skimp on the electronics!! Neither on servos, LiPo batteries, receivers, or controllers!!
Shame. I lost my 2.8m Azart V due to total signal loss. ua-cam.com/video/S4lKqou3UPU/v-deo.html In this case I was flying Spektrum with my Gen 1 DX8. Two other of my models lost contact but I'd stupidly put that down to faulty rx's. In the end Horizon replaced the antenna and RF module and it's been fine since
Same here, still use Spektrum for some foam planes but switched tot Futaba many years ago for the bigger/heavy planes. Not a single problem since (only a bad remote battery that i replaced)

How have you come to that conclusion? The Fr Sky kit is pretty good, not like it's cheap like a lot of Chinese stuff
Never use clone / aftermarket receivers ever. The few bucks saved have nothing on the cost of the aircraft. But sad end to a lovely glider.
Fly by night, Ha, Ha, Ha....that's a good one

Totally rebuildable!
Unfortunately, she ended up in a skip(trash bin)!

Same here, never use them again, on anything that has a value of over $50
R.I.P Foxy.
My advice would be to use decent receivers in the first place. Why use some cheap crap in a glider like that.
Why would you cheap out on the rx ?. I wouldnt put a clone rx in a foam park flyer.

Always take a binbag when going flying 😂
That is very pitty and painful... beautiful plane
I have had very good luck wit FrSky receivers in the US.
I think it varies with the Tx you use. 12fg, 8fg good. 14sg bad. I only use the clone rxes now with my old 8fg.
Don't hang on you won't see a crash
It’s always somebody else’s fault. Funny I’ve been flying for 46 years and never had any problems . Install the equipment right and it will work OK .
Thankfully, nowadays with LORA modulated systems like ELRS, we don't have to worry about this.

So where is the video footage of the Crash.... Bloody Click Bait !!!
