Zowie ZA13-C | Initial Impressions
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 сер 2024
- The ZA13-C feels good so far, but the QC issue is pretty cringe and the unique shape is proving to have a bit of a learning curve. I'm certainly looking forward to putting more time on the mouse.
Based on the poll I ran, you guys seem to like the initial impressions plus a full follow-up after a couple weeks format, so I'll start doing this for new releases.
I might tweet sometimes, give me a follow :) KraftyCraftKraf

thanks for reviewing it so quickly crafty:))))))!!
this guy is high-key one of the best reviewers when it comes to mouse shapes
Great review! Having the same creaking/popping issue on both sides here.
Edit: Managed to locate and fix the issue, taking it apart there is a small plastic prong protruding downwards underneath mouse 4, this prong slots into a slit which has some playroom, the prong grindes the sides of the slit when force is applied which generates the noise. Putting enough paper in the slit to fill the gap but also allow the mouse to be closed fixed the flex and the creaking consequently, it now feels like a proper zowie mouse :P
bruh your commentary about the mouse control at the end is great
Legit been waiting for this mouse since I saw they were revamping their mice. Good shit as always can’t wait to see ur final thoughts on the mouse 😘😘
😘
Decided to get the ZA13-C because of one of my favorite Apex Legends player CR_Selly. He has the same grip that I use and he's super consistent with headshots.
I think he uses an aggressive claw btw. Not super super how you would classify it
Great video man, can’t wait till you hit you’re first 500k subs!
guess i gotta wait like another few months so they can fix the qc issue that seems common even across reviewers
Love your videos
Excellent and in-depth review from a pro gamer, keep it coming. Whats your hand size? Mine is 21x12 so I guess ZA11 for me (claw and finger tip)
I'm far from a pro lol. My hands are 18 * 9-9.5 cm
ZA-11 is giant. It's bad even for your hand size. Mine are 21x11.5 and I hover between za-12 and 13 for claw.
@@lezley9548 That is a real probl
em to, what to choose. My main now is EC1-C and it doesn't even touch the palm of my hand (I claw grip it). And as we know EC1-C is 128 mm long, just like ZA11-C. And if I take ZA12-C that is 125 mm long it will be like a shorter EC1, compared to Logitech Pro Wireless. Which is all ok but the lack of palm control makes me wonder whether to choose ZA12 (no palm control) or ZA11 (where the control should be better)
@@Partyzant666 i have 21x10,5 and i find za11 very comfortable
@@phobiedufromage2433 How do you hold the mouse? Palm or claw/relaxed claw? And does the hump fill out all your palm? Does the back of the mouse touch the back of your palm while you're holding it?
Interesting comparison to the S2 and FK2. The ZA (non C) series is actually older than the S, so when the S2/S1 came out it was described as a a combination of the FK and ZA. Great overview though.
other reviewers had the same qc issue - starting to believe there ´s a problem regarding this mouse.
Yeah I think so
my unit has the issue as well
Ah, yes...the Zowie ZA series...the mullet of gaming mice: business in the front, party in the back. Only the most sigma of males even dare to tame this beast. I guess that's why no other company has cloned it: they lack the cajones.
The mullet of mice
literally loled out loud
wow the actuation force must be a breath of fresh air, cus the old ZA-13 clicks were crazy tough
For sure. The stiff zowie clicks feel so terrible but these are crisp. Tensioning makes all the difference.
Hello! I really like your reviews tbh because they are very detailed and seem to be the result of a lot of testing and experience. I would like to check this shape out. Normally xm1r is the shape that offers me the best stability in Kovaak's centering, pasu smooth extra small etc and in-game (mainly Warzone atm). I am a bit worse at reactive tracking with it though compared to the viper mini or the hati-s. S2-c seems a bit small for me but I can still perform well in Kovaak's and in-game. So, do you think I should buy the za12 or the za13? Thanks in advance.
I think the ZA13-C should be a safer choice. It’s labeled as “small” but apparently described as closer to medium
@@randomboiyo6254 I totally disagree from someone who has used all the mice talked about in this thread. If the S2 is too small then the za-13 will also feel small imo. The za-12 is long enough to make up for how thin the mouse is unlike the za-13.
I actually had the exact same issue as well. Ended up returning my unit and probably gonna go back to the S2-C for now. I was excited about the mouse since the shape was great, but I had some really bad flex and even a bit of pushing on that could cause my side buttons to actuate as well. Ruining some of the flow of gameplay.
Dang, that's super unfortunate about the flex on yours! My Za13-C is flawless. I wonder if there's a bad batch?
Could be. Maybe the first round of production units is a little bit faulty and you got lucky with your copy. I know a lot of companies have improved their quality overtime so hopefully this gets fixed with their later batches and stops being an issue.
since no one has reviewed zowie mouse skates which are available on their website , can you review variety of them which have different thickness ? jsut want to know if they are better/different than the corepads/aftermarket ?
Side flex is a bit worrying, if they were easy to get in Canada I'd potentially try it
Alot of mice from zowie's new lineup have qc issues. I have the fk2-c ec2-c and ec3-c they all have some shell flex problems. my fk2-c scroll has some weird play and same with the ec3-c scroll feels very loose.
That’s unlucky. I don’t have any of the issues you mentioned except the loose ec3-c scroll wheel. Even then I’m pretty sure that’s just how it’s designed and everyone’s is shit. I’ll have to start mentioning qc issues in future reviews because I’ve been hearing about them and experiencing it more lately.
@@KraftyCraftKraf Yeah not to mention, my Ec2-c has some weird edges on the top shell. It has like sharp ridges, as if the top shell is not tighetened enough to the bottom plate. if i squeeze the mouse i can see and feel tiny movement. another mouse reviewer "Hausgaming" had this same problem, you can watch his review of the ec-2c and you will understand my problem.
yeah with this mouse i feel like i can snap well but micro adjustments and tracking is harder
Check the screws underneath the skates, Could simply just need to be tightened a little more.
Nope that doesn't work. Just tried it out out and its slightly better but I couldn't tighten it enough to remove all of the flex.
Have you tried the ZA11?
Really would be nice if u mixed in gameplay with the mice during the video.
Yeah I should start to do that. This video in particular is very visually uninteresting.
Hey man what made you switch off the m2k? I left a post before saying how I felt that after a year of using the m1k I just could not feel a dramatic increase over a conventional mouse. Did u feel the same way with the m2k? on paper the m2k sounds like the best mouse for aim but in reality it only provides marginal benefits. Just curious on ur thoughts.
The only reason I switched off the m2k is that there were other mice that I wanted to use and it takes a while to adjust back to the m2k from standard mice. I also agree that the m2k only gives marginal benefits to your actual aim, but what made it work out so well for me was that it forced an aim style that was more conducive to better in-game results. It forced me to calm down and allowed me to aim very effortlessly and fluidly. No other mouse has ever allowed me to think about using it less while playing. This actually ties in pretty well to what I was discussing in this video. It's the same concept about your entire game improving when your mouse control is something that is entirely second nature, which the m2k takes to the next level for me. It just takes a couple of days to readjust to fingertip and the feather-light weight so it's been taking a backseat recently. I would like to start reintroducing it into a main rotation to see if I can cut down on this adjustment period as much as possible as well as work on a rereview that I want to make.
Is there a Pulsar Xlite Wireless review coming? We need the review for the Superglide glass skates!
Eh maybe. The glass skates seem super cool, but I’m worried about the xlite being a little too large for me. The outset and ec2 are right on the edge of comfortable for me so I’m a little worried. And surely they release a different mouse shape eventually that could be way better for me.
I'm currenty maining the Xenics GX Air (S2 clone) with 18.5/10 relaxed claw grip (My thumb is in a claw, my index and middle finger are something between claw and fingertip , not too agressively but still clawed , and my ring and pinky are straight and flat against the mouse like in a palm grip). Would the ZA13 be a good mouse to try out?
I think the za13 is a mouse that any type of clawgripper should try out. It's super flexible and should work for the style you described.
@@KraftyCraftKraf I really liked the m42 shape but I think it can be better, hopefully za13-c comes back in stock soon and becomes my endgame. Thank you for your reply and your reviews.
how do you use the super light, it feels so awkward to me.
Whats your grip style?
The shape’s always felt awkward to me. It’s just one of those things you have to get used to I feel. It is not very likely the potato will click or be your number one shape, but if you experiment with your grip style you can almost always find something by that works out well enough.
man I hate it when I perform well on kovaak but not valorant/csgo and vice versa.
eg MZ1 I do well in kovaak but suck in game, orochi I do well in game but for the life of me can't aim in kovaak
I feel you, my orochi does pretty well in any game that isn’t a tac shooter. I need stability over anything so I gotta size up
Ahaha it's so funny and sad when I have same problem
maybe its the mousepad ? maybe a control one for better stopping power
@@Raynoxfps nah I tried with the same and different pads, same result
i relate man, i suck in aimlabs/kovaaks with my ec3 but its by far my best mouse in val/csgo.
Hey buddy, how it is for you to press middle button? (wheel click) mines kinda hard to press idk if it's normal or not
Yeah it is. That’s something I usually forget to mention in reviews because I’m very used to middle clicks being as stiff or even stiffer than the za13-c so I don’t even notice it.
@KraftyCraft thks for that buddy! one other thing if you don't mind does your wheel rattle when you shake up and down? kinda disappointed in zowies build quality. maybe it's c series idk it's just a bummer for me.
Do you think this mouse has enough joint dexterity for an aggressive claw? I don't play your version of a foot, but do you think. It's suitable for relaxed claws and fierce claws. My other question was, did you adjust in the game with this mouse?
Yeah I adjusted in game and this mouse feels great now. I think you have enough range of motion for an aggressive grip, but only if you don't cup the hump in your hand. If you do that, it'll fill out the middle portion of your palm and feel a little restrictive.
@@KraftyCraftKraf So if this is the case wouldn't the S2 be the better option?
@@lcdcac yeah if you value range of motion and cup the hump in you palm the s2 would probably be better because the falt top hump should impact the middle of your palm less.
@@KraftyCraftKraf Thx 4 the response @KraftyCraft I decided to go ahead an pre-order the xm2w. I currently have an S2 (God only knows when they will restock the S2-c again) But I figured I could finally have a wireless option. If I don't love it it will hold me over until Zowie gets their crap together.
@@lcdcac I'm looking forward to the xm2w too. It looks poised to become the best mouse on the market so I can't wait to get it in hand. And idk what zowie is doing with the c series. They designed some incredible mice then just stopped being able to produce them, missing out on so many potential sales.
Do you buy all these new releases with your own money for your channel?
Yeah, I do. The only things I've received from companies were the Rapid from Coldclutch and the LGG pads. Everything else are my own purchases of stuff I was interested in.
Can you do a review on the Roccat Kone Pro
No probably not. I tried that mouse a while back but it was too large for me and felt quite clunky. Maybe I’ll revisit it but probably not. I’d be all over a slightly smaller version though.
How does it compare to the xm1r?
It's a lot thinner and the hump is much more rounded and bulbous feeling. It's smaller overall too. I'll be sure to do a detailed shape comparison between the two mice when I make the full review.
@@KraftyCraftKraf nice I'll be waiting on that then! I wanted something similar to the xm1r but a bit more mobile
Didn't you take this mouse apart?
No, I only removed the skates to try to tighten the screws and fix the flex. I never opened the shell up even a little.
What is your hand size?
18 * 9-9.5 cm
whats ur handsize
18 * 9-9.5 cm
That mouse looks crazy... Like it was designed by mistake...
Actually a good way to describe it.
It's got some freak accident that escaped from a lab energy.
better then G303 SE? :D
Probably not, but maybe. It's going to be really hard to beat a mouse made for exact grip style, but if the za13 keeps growing on me, it could be a legitimate contender.
@@KraftyCraftKraf with the g303SE its Love/hate for me. The stability is so nice but need to get used to the small movement. Bought Corepad skatez and hope there will be no problem with the lift of distance
Pls wireless zowie it is end 2021…
hm
indeed
Ur Reviews are good but the speaking speed is too fast.
All you need to do is change the video playback speed to 0.75 and it fixes this for you.
I've mentioned this in multiple videos. His speed doesn't bother most people, but with my adhd I need it a little slower to grasp without replaying it multiple times.
@@iJansport okay when He doesnt bother me neither and wont watch him again. Thats sad.
Speak more slowly pls, ty!
