- We visited Joe Exotics Zoo in Wynnewood Oklahoma. It’s currently ran by Jeff Lowe but Carole Baskin will take over soon. Watch the Netflix series Tiger King. While there the zoo looked awful, the smell in parts were too much to deal with. A lot of the animals looked horrible. It was actually a really sad visit. Jeff Lowe will be moving all the animals to another location in August of 2020. After we left the zoo we read where Jeff Lowe said he’s leaving the zoo in the worst shape for Carole Baskin. He’s doing a great job of it for sure. We hope his next zoo is top of the line and more very well kept. I will say the staff there was very nice and they were working hard the whole time. I’m glad this zoo is coming to an end.
The animals look sad, maybe because Joe is gone.
The only solution is for the people that have a problem with conditions should volunteer and do something about it .I've worked at a wolf refuge it was clean because we volunteer and keep it that way .running your mouth doesn't do anything except cause controversy .I remember the old days where people minded their business or suffered the consequences .do something or shut up please it's not like they aren't actually doing something for the animals or they would all be dead by now .
I’d love to volunteer there but it’s 5 hours from where I live.

Those massive cats need room to run and stretch and stalk and climb trees and swim and roll all around. They have none of it. It’s so sad. The animals pace because they’re stressed.
So incredibly sad. Those poor creatures did nothing to deserve their horrible fate. I don't even now what should happen to the animals or the human animals responsible for this atrocity. It's all such a mess.

The animals are pacing because they are stressed from overbreeding, too small cages and lack of enrichment. I do not recommend anyone go there. The animals need to me moved to true sanctuaries.
I strongly suggest that if you have access to the tv channel animal planet, you watch the show surviving Joe Exotic. It shows just how bad these zoos are for big cats and shows what real sanctuaries look like.
It sheds light on the fact that cubs used in “cub petting” are ripped away from their moms at two days old to be hand raised and be part of the cub petting which brings in tons of money until the cubs out grow their usefulness. It also explains that people like Joe Exotic deliberately breed cross breeds because currently their are no laws protecting hybrids and the zoo owners can do whatever they want with the cats.

Carol Anne Sawyer I was not aware that carol bought joes zoo ....this is the saddest animal experience one would ever witness ....this should be shut down and all those involved sentenced to jail and all assets ceased to fund a proper rescue vacility ..shame on us all for letting such things happen

I enjoyed your family video. One thing it confirms in MY MIND is that Carole had to have been jealous of Joes park as it way better than her shady wee thing.

It stinks because now Carol owns it. I have seen the videos of when Joe had it they clean the mess out of it, but of course if you seen Carol's zoo in Florida you would know why that zoo would stink the one here stinks too she doesn't believe in people being in the cages therefore i wouldn't believe they are being cleaned properly. Just my opinion however.

I think it was in rough conditions when you went because it was in the last days of operation and the volunteers and paid staff were in those “last days” mode. It doesn’t make it right but just saying I would bet a few years before with Joe running the show i would have wagered good money that appearance and even the smell you spoke of would not been that bad… granted it’s a zoo but upkeep certainly makes an difference. It’s really sad seeing someone’s life’s work being taken from them and although there are mixed feelings of JE, everyone can see that this all started from somewhere with good intentions. I think he was screwed over by everyone he let in his circle and it costed him everything. I pray that he has able to get out and enjoy the rest of years in peace. Whatever he has done wrong in his life he has paid for it. He has lost his parents, zoo, all his properties and possessions…

I can't believe how run down it is now. Well...i guess it makes since, they are moving soon to the new location. I guess they not putting any money into this old zoo.

Wow I think a lot of the tigers r really thin looking like not one was kinda chunky that's sad and ur right the park looks more run down n not kept up as it used to. Hell don't even look like they clean the cages much or cut the weeds n grass! And that's messed up they took down Travis's memorial that's where he died that was fucked up

This place probably looks like this because they were about to move into the new place, why spend anymore money than you have to on a place your leaving. Plus Jeff Lowe is a crook, he don’t care about those animals. Joe exotic cared, that’s why the placed looked decent when he was there. Joe cared a lot about that place. Just my opinion.

I don’t know how they stay open but I do know next month (August) they are moving all the animals to Jeff Lowe’s new zoo that’s supposed to be much cleaner and better for the animals. I hope it is cause this zoo is awful.

That place was spotless when I was there 15 years ago When joe ran it. He was a kook but he did take good care of the place

It was smelly for sure. Luckily it was too much and I was able to wash it off.

As far as I know it’s now closed because Carole owns it now. I might have to do a follow up video on this.

We’ve been to many zoos, this wasn’t a zoo smell.
those cages arr absolutely heart shattering...for anyone who is plain a genuinely good human being that had got tl make you feel terrible..i live alone at age 34.its pretty hard st times but nothing hurts like imaginng these animals never getting a break from pacing ina 6 ft wide cade ehen thier head to hils are 4ft..neasuremeants were geastimated.. so sad..far to many animamls we have inslaved.breeding needs to.be left to zoos ,simply because of money,amount of.people involved help keep.morality in check ,most the time,and with oversite the amount to properly breed would be better regulated.

This must brake Joe's heart if he sees what this has become. He did care about the animals and kept the place nice. I don't believe animal should be put in cages but not every one feels like that. Hopefully Joe is released very soon.

I dont think it was that bad when Joe had it, he took care of things and I bet the animals miss him and I wish that jerk Trump would of gave Joe a pardon but he never had any intention on helping Joe from the beginning , but I hope someone gets him out because he didn't deserve all those years and he should already be out.

I don’t know why, but it kind of bothered me when he said that male cat was “nasty” - he wasn’t mean and nasty.
They have huge territories in the wild and they use scent marking by spraying a urine-like substance from their anal glands to alert other cats that, he may not be *seen*, but he’s close by and this is HIS land, and now you as a person have been targeted and marked and subsequently sprayed for him to identify you and further give the message to any other cats that he’s close by.
Never said he was mean but it’s pretty nasty to get sprayed. I know it’s all natural but it’s still pretty nasty.
