I love the cold weather too. I feel like I come alive when the weather turns...spring is nice, but it passes so fast into summer, and I HATE the heat. I have reverse seasonal affective disorder. I get depressed when the days get longer and the weather warms up. Day after day of blue skies and bright sunshine makes me want to slit my wrists....but when autumn comes? Oh, looooovvve. Love it.

@@lindahind2205 I don't think it's about cost - I think the spirit of him saying that is not save things for a rainy day or a special moment that might never come. I feel that we often buy something beautiful or special (whether we pay $$$ for it or pick it out of Goodwill for $5) but we think..."Oh this dress is too fancy for everyday" or that you'll only wear it to a special event and then the piece ends up not seeing the light of day. being a fellow new yorker i feel like everyone has such unique styles because we walk everywhere so we want to show off our clothes 🤣 the long ass blocks are our runways
People assume New Yorkers are gonna be mean , hard and rude. But we really aren't. Once you approach people most are ready to open up and are very warm. I love New York City. There's no place like it.

I met some of the nicest people and had great conversations. I actually went back for Christmas had the same experience. Don't believe what people tell you just go and experience it for yourself.
I visited NYC at the end of 1979, and the people were awesome. I was from Phoenix, and the people there are unfriendly and rude (the heat does that). NYCers were very friendly and helpful too. I asked people where places were, and they were happy to tell me--no attitude. I had a great time celebrating New Year's Eve at Times Square, which is why I was visiting, and also to photograph the original WTC and its surroundings. I had a blast. (Jan Griffiths).
The thing I love most is that you show that style is not tied to brand names, but to creativity, freedom of mind and spirit and taking chances. Once you take chances, you develop confidence, which in turn stimulates creativity! Love this series so much!
I LOVE Karen's mindset and the way she talks about fashion. It's not about brands, trends, specific clothing items, or any "formula" or fashion "rules" that you read on some blog. Style is an innate sense in people and knows no bounds.

The funny thing is in NYC, most of the adults are all dressing similar to their friends and family, like ppl everywhere do. However, they dress to be seen in NYC bc they walk everywhere, unlike other areas of the country. When so many different cultures and backgrounds live together, and walk everywhere, you see a very broad range of styles! Everyone influences each other...the street is a fashion show every day lol. For me, a former photographers' and painters' model from the 70s and 80s and 90s, the personalities are far more intriguing to me than the fashion although the Boheme lady with the various shades of orange/melon wore beautiful clothes.
I also love the last man wearing a suit, who dresses for meetings. Seems as if the men are really stepping up their game from head to toe! And wearing so many designer clothing items and glasses. Great video!

Karen, you’ve done it again! Fantastic! I’m so inspired to “mix it up”. The men’s fashion is so amazing in this episode. I wanted to see your outfits as well. I'm from New York and I'm feeling nostalgic, I'm so glad that you chose New York to live in. If you can make it there you can make it anywhere. Loved the video thanks for sharing.
Evette Walker Same here, I grew up on the upper west side, but I now live in the suburbs of upstate NY. This video series makes me so nostalgic and it makes me miss the city for the unique fashion and people.
You see New York in such a beautiful way, it really warms my heart. One of the most indescribable feelings I’ve ever had is the sense of wonderment and freedom I had when I first moved to NYC at 18, just being in constant awe of the place and the people. I still love this city, but the longer you stay, the more infrequent the feeling - life and responsibilities and the grind get in the way. These videos somehow recapture that for me, it’s so lovely. Thank you for these!!! Hope to cross paths with you one day.
This is exactly like a series called “On the Street” that was done by a famous fashion photographer every week for the NY Times. Sorry I forget his name, he was an older gentleman who rode around NYC on his bicycle, narrating and stopping people who were dressed creatively, and talking about their style. I followed him for years (he did it as a photo feature for years, then added video). Unfortunately, he passed away some years ago. This fills the same niche. Wonderful, I hope you keep doing it. Now I’m an expat NYC-er, it helps me stay in touch. Nothing like NY, I miss it.

I’m so inspired to go shopping, experiment and renew my style. The people you spoke to were charming and oozed confidence. Your videos are like social research, there are so many elements to take from this Karen, in terms of self expression, personalities, fashion economics, location, weather, gender, age, moods, purpose, shapes and silhouettes, the mundane of daily life walking on the street with the contrast of a versatile cityscape. Fascinating. I love the layers of fashion and the layers of this video. So original. 👏
I love watching these videos, I find them so inspiring. They give me so many new ideas of how to style different items in my wardrobe. I wish you had your own tv show, you’d be brilliant. Also love how you edit your videos to show the character of NY and your choice of music, I find them therapeutic, please keep doing them.
This series is FABULOUS! It is a refreshing change from seeing just one persons style throughout the whole video. You know it makes someone’s day with the compliments too. KEEP SPREADING THE LOVE! ✌🏼
First, I love your videos. Artistically they are beautiful. The way you approach and speak to the people is so genuine. Inspirational to see the style and fashion. Thank you!

I say this every video but 😭 PLEASE DONT STOP THESE!!!! They’re my favorite, favorite thing ever. You’re so good at it. It literally gives me such inspiration
I absolutely adore these videos! They always make me think twice about my wardrobe because more often than not I have something similar. Gets me out of the rut of wearing my clothes only one way.
I Love that people are not bashful in regards to their individuality! When you are able to create your own style swag and Boldly say to the world "Here I Am"... That's Priceless!🌟
I love the way you edit these videos, including what catches your eye in street art and architecture. Really cool to hear what inspires someone else and how that’s all so visible in your personal style
It’s so bitter sweet to see so many different styles and ppl on the streets of nyc one year later. Streets depleted of the iconic energy of the city. Stay safe everyone.
The man at the end with the round glasses and blue suit.........He was Easy on the Eye Silky SMOOTH. I need to move to America 😂💕💕💕 Another great video Karen. Merry Christmas & a Fabulous New Year. Nuff Blessings from Birmingham UK👑👢💝

These series motivated me to think and try to understand everyone's motivation/idea beyond what they're wearing. From that standpoint no outfit seems ugly, it all makes sense 🙂
Karen. I absolutely love this series. You do such a great job of bringing to life the color, style and vibrancy of not just the people of New York but also the city itself.
Love these New York videos 👏👏👏👏👏 love to see diversity
Karen, I would like to see what you're wearing at the beginning of the video so I know what everyone is complimenting you on.
I love this idea🤩👌
I adore these videos...a glimpse of New York City and all the wonderfully stylish kind people.
love that the puppy had on a denim coat... stylish as well !
Oh that vintage coat with the zig zag design at the bottom, tho....
Cant explain how much i love this series
This series is FABULOUS! It is a refreshing change from seeing just one persons style throughout the whole video.
You know it makes someone’s day with the compliments too. KEEP SPREADING THE LOVE! ✌🏼
First, I love your videos. Artistically they are beautiful. The way you approach and speak to the people is so genuine. Inspirational to see the style and fashion. Thank you!
Bill Cunningham lives on in you! I wait for these and get so excited when they drop. Keep it coming!
Karen, you are truly a gift and this series is the best. It needs to be a show where you travel around the world and find out what people are wearing...London, Paris, Barcelona , Mexico City, Berlin, Tokyo...all of the places.
Happy new year Karen. The camera work, the cinematography, the fashion was very enjoyable. Very nicely done.
I am so jealous of the diversity of people you meet on these trips. How wonderful! The style is fantastic too!
When I pack for my next trip to NYC I will be thinking about the possibility of being stopped by Karen, LOL what an honor that would be.
I live for these videos Karen, I could watch them all day long. Fashion gives me joy, it always has since I was a little girl. I think I’m going to go play dress up now as B.Jones would say. Thank you! Wishing you and hubby health & peace for the holidays!!! 😘🌟🥂🌲💯
So good Karen! Best idea ever to start this series. Am loving every one and look forward to each new episode!!!
Karen I think it’s amazing how you are so positive towards EVERYONE! You never discriminate and I love you for that!!!❤️
These series motivated me to think and try to understand everyone's motivation/idea beyond what they're wearing. From that standpoint no outfit seems ugly, it all makes sense 🙂
I love the guy with the fox tie! Different and unique but still remained polished and not 'too out there'. I love this series!
Karen. I absolutely love this series. You do such a great job of bringing to life the color, style and vibrancy of not just the people of New York but also the city itself. Your photography is at times breathtaking and your voice overs are spot-on. I have been looking forward to this episode 7 all week and you didn’t disappoint. Thank you. I know it takes hard work to bring this to us each month so I wanted to let you know it’s sooooo appreciated. & Happy New Year to you and Michael.
Karen, you are a true artist. I love the way you capture a feeling, a vibe. Not only do you showcase clothes but your snapshots of artwork throughout NY are priceless. Absolutely adore this series and your lovely accent.
Love when you share individual style.... fashion is an Art... My favorite series !!!
New York City is inspiring, your guests are inspiring and you are inspiring. Your Light Spirit is just what the world needs right now. Thank you.
"Inspiration library" is the perfect term for this series. Absolutely beautiful!
I’ve fallen in love with this series; it feeds my fashion sense to a point beyond satisfaction. The visuals, sounds, soooo poetic 😍
Great Episode Karen, you do such a great job of capturing the feel of New York as well as the creativity of the people!
WELL Said! My sentiments, exactly!
