Weren't the 2016 Cleveland INDIANS up 3-1 vs the Cubs then lost 3 straight?
Considering that would have been the first WS victory for the Tribe since 1948 that had to be considered one of the biggest chokes in history.

I'd put them up there for sure. A top 5 or for sure a top 10 list they would be on. I thought a 3-0 lead, a routine ground ball error, and down the last strike TWICE are up there. Thanks for the comments Mike! Appreciate you.

Eh not quite. Cleveland in 2016 went into the WS with a severely injured pitching staff. It was basically down to Kluber and a couple of randos they picked up on the team bus.

You can also bring up 1997….
From a Cleveland fan who forever feels them foolishly trading away Kenny Lofton was why they choked 3-1 vs Marlins

2013 Tigers haunt me to this day. Of all the times for Benoit to lob fat change to the most clutch postseason hitter in history….they never recovered from that.
Also an honorable mention goes to the 92 Pirates, who almost came back from a 3-1 series deficit to go to the World Series, but blew a two run lead in the bottom of the ninth in knife twisting fashion. The team has never been the same since.

You could argue that this took the invincibility away from the Yankees when they lost to Boston in 2004. Could say it was dwindling after the two World Series losses and the loss to the Angels in 2002 but 2004 took the sting out of them.

I'm gonna help you out, ok?
1.1 innings pitched is read, " one and one third innings".
    I await your "thank you".

True! Thank you Mike. In my head, I always read it as 1.1 vs 1 and 1/3 and don't think twice about it. Reading it out loud for others, it makes sense. Appreciate you watching!

How is this not a list of the Dodgers since 2013? They have made the playoffs 12* straight years(asterisk is for the Mickey Mouse Covid season that doesn’t count) have won over 100 games 5 times in that span and have nothing to show for it. Even if you’re one of those weirdos that says “the Astros cheated so they would’ve won in 2017”. Well the Astros cheated against Boston and the Yankees that year too. The Dodgers may have won that series against Houston if they hadn’t cheated but they may not have even played Houston if they weren’t cheating. Boston beat the Dodgers in 2018 and you don’t know who would’ve won if a different team represented the AL.
