I don’t think for a second they can’t compete; the rules changed from what they knew but also so has everyone… in the context of 4e i think they are still in a good spot
Bought some a couple months ago, as a second army to my nighthaunts. I saw a post in my nighthaunt group where someone beat a KO army forty something to nothing. After talking with him, he mentioned that he first turned the KO and basically had them on the run the whole time. It's good to see that it may not be that gloomy. I play mostly 1000 pt team, and will probably run Brokk, Frigate, Endinrigger (reinf), Endinrigger. As a one drop and not a lot of units, I won't be able to clog up the objectives like I'm used to with Nighthaunt, but I should be able to push an objective and stomp the units on it (All units in the frigate getting first strike on my turn and theres). Then move to another objective and repeat. I didn't even think about how the assault boat would work on the opponents turn, that's huge
Hiya, i do believe there's been a mistake with the frigate, its ability "Assault Boat" is not usable during Ennemy turn as there's the "your charge phase" keyword. Only the basic charge ability without this keyword is usable and gives you bonuses as if it were your turn. I understand trying to get everything out of an index, but this will not be doable, until games remove the keywords at least.
Great thoughts Q though Veritas is correct, counter charge lets you charge as if its your charge phase which then brings the rules into play. If I was a Judge that'd how I would rule this until an faq stated otherwise.
Hey guys, this was super informative and I really appreciate the effort put into this. Can you do a breakdown of Disciples of Tzeentch? They are the only other faction that feels like they lost their Identity moving into 4th. And NO ONE is making content on it
I've got to say, Transport Skyfarers combined with redeploy sounds a lot like permanent immunity to being charged to me if you can manage your screens with even a tiny bit of skill.
I’v played 5 games with KO 4.0 so far. And the redeploy is deffinetly strong! But it’s by no means complete anti charge. You have to move onto objectives, turn 2-3 enemies are more spread so will be on both our sides, less room to do the manuvre. Lots of factions have 3d6 charges through specific units or spell buffs! Some units have other abilities shutting it down, Like Be’Lakor, or abilities making a unit unable to do commands! So you can’t redeploy! All factions have acess to Counter charge too! Works well when you want to get fairly close to enemy to take objectives and shooting good! Enemies summon a lot of endless spells all over the place that can charge from another direction. I’v won 3 of the 4 games, so still strong! But deffinetly not fail safe :)
Awesome video major KO Fan, such an epic army to paint and hobby with. One minor note AOS Coach. The music at your credits is way too load, can't here a thing you say.
Enemy summons kronspine... ok thank you now my frigate has something to use power through off while my 12 endriggers kill the unit next to it thats exactly how u plan on using my apponents endless spells against them :)
Loved the question on Endrinriggers vs Sky Wardens. Another insightful conversation! I can’t thank you enough for doing these, Coach.
My pleasure. I can only imagine how frustrating it can be when building your models
Great guest and analysis ! it's deep and fun to watch, thanks for your work ! (hi from Paris :D )
Thanks Cedric!
Great early review, fantastic job from both our host and guest
Thanks buddy. Looking forward to your next video too
Great to hear a positive take on the army - Aethercast, while I love the podcast, were super down on the index.

yeah the assault boat can do some lovely things with enough CP... just don't fail that counter charge
Their movement inn relation to the boats looks bonkers

Counter charge allows you to use charge abilities "as if it were your charge phase".
@@VeritasTemplar860 Ability with charge keyword or ability "Charge" from core abilities?
@@evgenijvalamin6473 when it is writen in plural: "charge abilities" it means every ability with the keyword that are valid.

@@AoSCoach Found answer in core rules. Any ability with keyword "x" is "x" ability

DoT won’t be too far away… i got a guest, its just a matter of enough games to confidently talk about them. Stay tuned

absolutely. the challenge will be having enough CP to play around with the boats and still having the resources to shoot efficiently.

Odd... let me look into it. I noticed a change in my software lately which might be messing with it.
You can't use assault boat because you can "use your phase" ability only then you are active player
Pretty sure you can because the command treats it as if its your turn… but i’m sure we’ll get a clarification on Assault Boat in the near future
I can't see these heroes with their ability popping on a 3+ seeing play
I'm not the biggest fan either... you need them in a clutch moment and you always seem to miss that 3+
When has anyone EVER failed a 3+ >_
Why would you call it a boatifact when Arkifact is right there?

I reckon you can just shoot it off the board and laugh too
So sad that the Fluff is Missing in 4th Edition. I want my Skyport-Boni back.
