I have 21 emotional sucking I mean support actual chickens. Actually they are hubby’s babies. I have folks give me stuffed plush chickens so I’m more inclined to crochet anything BUT chickens.

I grew up with chickens but that was decades ago. I have to settle with these.

Made 2 emotional support chickens for me, and I have 4 to make for female family members. LOVE the idea of putting a knitted heart in them - someone else mentioned in the comments.
I may have to make a pair of these, one for my BFF and me. She's a chicken person. And I'm just captivated by this silly chicken!

I used to crochet chickens as a little girl along with nests to put them in.
Just don’t overthink it! I love my ESC. And keep saying I’m going to make her a friend but haven’t started in it yet. They turn out pretty nice matter the color placement! Best not to stress about it, it’ll turn out cute no matter what. Also just pull out a little bit of yarn regardless if it’s the same type of yarn or not! 💜 we all need good distractions every now and then! And chickens are wonderful distractions!

Use white or cream for your stripes & contrasting color on tail. That would pop and be really pretty. I am just about done with my first one... Grey with a pink/purple/white variegated. I used red glitter yarn for the wattle & comb. Can't wait to finish her, as I've got a few more in the pipeline for Xmas gifts. Instead of this being the Christmas of Hats, it looks like it's the Christmas of Chickens...

I have made 2 chickens, now I found the crochet pattern. #3 in work. Now the thought of one in fingering is wandering around my thought process. And yes I have other things on my needles.... but oh well. This is fun.

I warned you. I have made 2 using Caron latte cakes. You don’t have to change colors because the yarn does that. Plus they are fluffy! In total I have made 4 with one on the needles.

I heard someone saying they used doubled scrap sock yarn. Oh, be still my heart, I have to do that.

Lol I have a number of unfinished (timed out) projects. They live in my craft room closet in bags over a hanger. The door is closed and way to much stuff to get in. Lol
My pattern library is in the closet of my craft room. It had way to much stuff in front of the door for me to get to my physical patterns for way to long. I get the stashed projects

I bought the crochet pattern. I'm so confused on the tail. Section 2 says sc 5, ch 12, turn, SC in each to end, turn (22)
5+12=17 not 22 🤷♀️

Ok, I get it. On row 7, section 1 you crochet back 11 of the 17 stitches per the row ( you have 6 left). On row 12 you crochet 5, chain 12 then turn. Working in 2nd chain back. (11 for chain, 5 stitches + the original 6 stitches you hadn’t worked) you should be at the full end of the row. (Email me if still confused)
@@anotheryarn That's what I just popped on to say . I figured it out. By the time I got to row 7, I thought I was doing the same as the previous rows and saw 11 as 17. When all else fails, read the instructions! 🤦🏻♀️ Thank you so, so much!

hi what crochet hook size did you do and is it worsted weight yarn
I ended up knitting 3 Emotional Support Chickens. I got the crochet pattern but haven’t crocheted one yet.
Either knit or crochet you can definitely use worsted/Aran yarn (pattern calls for it) and an F hook
