Tour of Europe at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo

- Welcome to another episode of Zoo Exhibit Tours!
Today we are at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo and we will be touring their European Exhibit! This is the most immersive zone in the zoo which is also one of the oldest. Some enclosures were built in the 1930s and they still stand today. Despite being old, the enclosures are still perfectly adequate for their animals and many exhibits are some of the best in the zoo!
The next zoo that I'll be visiting is Colchester Zoo so comment down below what exhibit you'd like me to tour there!

I remember the first time i went to ZSL Whipsnade around 1999 or 2000 and they housed Cheetah where the Lynx are housed now, the Flint Pit Paddock opposite the Brown Bear exhibit housed Stork and Wallaby, The African Hunting Dog exhibit housed European Grey Wolf and there used to be a lone American Bison on the Downs which sadly passed away either last and this year

I’ve been to Whipsnade at least 30 times and I love it! In my top 2 zoos that I’ve been to. Great video with great explanations (even though I know my way round without a map anyway!) would love more videos like this!

Great to see, given Eroupe is on of the most unrepresentative places in zoos, or is that just because I only mostly know American Zoos
Yeah there are not many European themed exhibits in zoos so it’s nice that Whipsnade Zoo is different
Stripy Yoshi those animals are spoiled I guess you could say, those are the kind of zoos that inspired, giant natural exhibits almost like the wild.
Next time can you go to Whipsnade can you do the Asia part please?

Stripy Yoshi Great video and info about the Elephants! Just as an idea when indoor parts are open could you do Asia as there are some awesome animal like the tigers, sloth bears (the only ones in the uk), Asian rhinos and of course elephants! And many more.
Yeah as soon as they open I'll tour Asia
At Colchester please could you do a tour of the Orangutan Forest and Playa Patagonia as they are right next to eachother
Yeah I'll try to! I"m not sure if the orangutan exhibit is open because its indoors but I'll check when I go
