I miss Huell. What a treasure. I went to this venue a few times and we transplants from NM stood around smelling the roasting chiles and reminiscing about eating Hatch chiles every day. I have some in my freezer now waiting to become chiles rellenos.
Huell Howser brings this story in real life. great job!

That poor man was taken aback by the question. He honestly didn't want to think of a year without chile. It was like watching a kid thinking about Christmas being canceled.

I live in Las Cruces NM near Hatch and chilis up the whazoo here. lol I have to admit, it does taste better here. But their mild here is medium+ elsewhere lol.

I lived in LasCruces for 3 yrs.Straight from field to roaster,alot is lost in the flavor when shipped,worse if you drive to and from.
