omg! congrats! i also had sooo many exams literally during NanoWriMo and I wasnt able to write anything! i've been doing a lot of writing vlogs too on my channel. love your vibe! xx
Yay congratulations on finishing the first draft. Such a great accomplishment. It has been a pleasure watching your journey and wishing you all the best in the next step
I’ve started watching these vids on my lunch break, I just wanted to say thank you for providing such relaxing and chill content that is at the same time inspiring!
As soon as i typed the words "the end" today, i rushed to youtube to share my happiness with fellow writers who have also completed their project. though it's just watching a video, it feels as if i'm in a video call with writer friend and we're sharing about our works.
Re: video ideas, I'd be curious to know which authors you like reading for inspiration as a writer! My professor would call those types of writers your writing mentors because the process of reading their work shapes how you write! Which I love.
Yayy congratulations on your first draft! I usually let my drafts sit for a month before moving on, but sometimes it's more like two weeks because I want to write it so bad lol. Loved the video!
I'm so happy for you! Waiting on a draft can be daunting. Usually, I like to work on a different book while a first draft is sitting. It makes it easier not to just jump right back into the story. Right now, I am working on a YA FANTASY novel. It's an enemies-to-lovers royalty novel, about the consequences of escapism.
This video popped up in my suggested so I’m sorry for commenting on an old video but I also go by vee so I got super excited to see your name lol. Also loved this vlog and am excited to binge your videos now🖤🖤
I have yet to actually wait purposefully between drafts, but I've taken plenty of breaks because of life/other things getting in the way! It definitely has helped find problems and solutions in my work. Congrats on your finished draft!
tysm :)) previously, the same happened to me where i ended up waiting quite a while between drafts due to getting caught up in other life shenanigans so that could definitely happen again. but you’re right, the time spent away from my draft will help me to spot things that need to be changed!
Okay so for my first draft I did dive back in after a week to run through and do some light edits as well as take note of any big changes I wanted to make and write down all the comments I left (When I draft I don't edit so I leave comments if I know there is something I want to change). After that I normally want to jump back in but for my most recent (and most successful) draft I got caught up in work and would up taking a month break before I really sat down with it. If you're feeling good about going into it again I say go for it! Just don't expect to make too many changes because your head will still be stuck with the last draft.
this is fantastic advice thank you! i’ve already made note of the big changes i want to make but as much as i want to dive back in right away i need to distance myself from my first draft for the best results when it comes to noting what to change! thank you :)
Hey Vee!! I just wanted to pop in to say I really enjoy your videos and hope to keep seeing more from you 😊 I binged them all and got such great inspiration for writing!! I’ve currently been working on outlining, trying to pep myself up to write my first draft of a story. If you’d also ever like to talk, I would LOVE someone to chat with about writing!!! Congrats on finishing your first draft of your book!🥰
Congratulations on your first draft! I personally take around 1-3 month between editing a new draft, sometimes more. I am not sure it's always better to wait though, I find it that the longer I wait, the harder it is for me to edit because I get overwhelemed and feel like the entire thing is trash, idk if anyone feels the same :D So maybe if you feel like it works for you you can do at least some rough edits earlier? At the end of the day, you can edit your book how many times you feel like :)
thank you!! :) and i could totally get how waiting longer would make you feel overwhelmed ahaha, but also very true that we can edit as many times as we feel like it!
The best and worst feeling in the world is ending the story, I swear. 😂👏🏼 and I can only get myself to wait at most 2 weeks! Haha so you’re not alone. Can’t wait to read your book someday! 💕
congrats on finishing your first draft!! i’ve been watching your writing vlogs and enjoying them! i’ve been working on a YA contemporary and i’m on the final draft now. (i usually don’t wait long between drafts because i’m too excited to start editing/writing haha) are you interested in beta reading by any chance? :)
wow final draft, that’s awesome!! i’m definitely interested in beta reading but i think i’m going to at least wait until my second draft is complete :)
I am SO CLOSE to finishing my first draft. All I need is one good writing session, but I am notoriously slow at writing among my writer friends, so… It’ll probably take me another month.😅
@@haykay1626 omg so cool!! :) they do! and i didn’t even know tetley tea was british, but now that i do that makes so much sense!! you learn something new everyday😌
