As a runner, the more you work at it the better you do. I went from running a 20 minute mile to an 8:30 over a year. Push yourself to do the run 3xs a week and mild sprinting as part of your intervals for 20-30 seconds should help you increase your endurance ☺️
Hey Katie! I’m your age as well and am currently training for my second ultramarathon!! This just goes to show how addicting running can be even at a young age😀My biggest tips are making sure you have the right shoes (saucony is my favorite brand) as well as getting electrolytes and carbs in before every run (gels, mixes to put in water and maple syrup are all great options). It is very helpful as well to focus on zone 2 HR running when trying to build up endurance💕
running was so hard at first, but give it a month and you'll be addicted! and if u want to run further, go with your friends! time goes by so fast when i'm just talking with my teammates. also, when i'm wearing a cute running outfit it makes me want to go so much more!!
advice for running!- find the right shoes!! this can make a world of difference. if you are willing to invest (ik you just got hokas) there is better shoes out there. the hokas bondis are more catered towards walking. i recommend going to a running shoe store where they will get you fitted!
I’ve got a CX5 as well! It’s a great little SUV. The AWD is good to have but make sure you also get winter tires. They make such a difference in the snow.
i also have exercise induced asthma and have not run in over a year. when i go run by myself i can’t even run a full mile w out having to stop. i agreed to sign up for a 5k w friends and did not train 😭 but ran the whole thing (minus a few second walk after mile 2) I think running with people is more motivating!

i would suggest doing some more intentional research when it comes to what foods are “bad” and “good” for you. for example, seeds oils can actually be beneficial for your health, not harmful.

from swimming! my stamina was fine but it felt like my lungs couldn’t keep up and I knew something was wrong. an inhaler helped a bit!
