As a former NSW police officer, i am embarrassed that there are so many cops like these out there. Too afraid to make an arrest and too lazy to investigate. A minor assault is still an assault and needs to be investigated.

i was assaulted by police in front of my apartment I'm Melbourne cbd 2 years ago back when covid protesters were still doing it regularly. the protesters walked down my street then when I walked out my front doors after they'd gone past the police following them assaulted me and I had to rush towards my apartment doors and use my scan card to get inside & lock them out just to get away from them.

I used to work in a liquor store in Melbourne that was routinely shoplifted from and staff members regularly assaulted. We all knew not to bother calling VicPol. If they did actually show up (which was almost never) they would act completely uninterested and as though you were interrupting their day. Never once did I see them catch anybody that we reported of a crime, even after giving them video evidence.
