Losing Iru hurts on this one, especially when Poland got through. If anyone deserved to break Georgia's NQ streak, it was Iru :(

I’m so conflicted cause I’m so happy for Estonia I’m so angry about Poland and Georgia. Atleast I predicted 9/10 but I never would’ve predicted Georgia to non qualify
I was so sure Georgia would qualify. Definitely the biggest shock and upset of the semifinals

Yes, I feel so sad for Georgia, jeez, I've never been one of those people who said, that Poland should have sent Gladiator instead, up until now. Especially if it turns out, that Poland finished 10th and 11th was Georgia, just a point away from reaching the final. On the other hand, the Polish diaspora probably still would have put Gladiator ahead of Echo, even if he would have struggled vocally.
You had the exact same reaction as me when they left Joker Out last, I too was chanting ''Slovenia'' at the TV. Almost gave me a heart attack lol
I had the heart attack on Tuesday with Norway, but here I was just filled with sadness bcos I knew Slovenia would be announced and Georgia would nq, so no heart attacks, rather just depression 😭😭😭

There are few reasons for this, I think Poland send her specifically to not win the contest, like one of that troll songs, and second reason - my only favourite song was Latvia, and after the nq I want this contest to burn in flames like it deserves 😂 So yeah, go bejba, show em nothing and win the contest cause ic kaina krejzah

It's shocking, even though they came 12th, they should have qualified with that vocal.

I am really kind of a shock for Georgia not qualified, but Estonia takes the cake as the shock qualifier for this semi. And so I got 9/10 on my predictions list. Very happy for two Baltics, Belgium, and so as Albania and Australia, too!

Why was that a shock? She has one of the best voices of this year's competitors? I would have been disgusted if she wasn't going through...
I'm happy overall (especially about Cyprus, Estonia, Lithuania and Slovenia). But, as many people, I feel devastated for Georgia's nq and Poland qualifying... This is a good example of why we need juries in the semi-finals.
I'm also sad for Iceland, but in this I had predicted it would be a nq...
P.S: Belgium has grown a lot on me with Gustaph's performance!
Got 9 out of 10 didnt want to believe Poland would do it, didn't think Georgia wouldn't make it. So annoyed that they announced Slovenia last - didn't do my nerves any favours. So angry Poland got through. So sad for Georgia - them and Latvia can't catch a break can they?
I know this is only a song contest, not vital for the world by any means, but Poland qualifying makes me loose hope. I don't like see undeserving people succeeding while more deserving people fail. Blanka has no business being on a stage

Girl, half of Slovenia had a heart attack. It was awful waiting to hear our name - they ALWAYS call us last. But at least the organisers got an amazing reaction from the band when they got through, so that makes for good tv, i guess :)

The Albanian song, is very good; motives taken from Highland Albania folk ballads. The song probably will last for a long time within Albanian communities, for the message (love it!) something like, love, protect your family, no hate, no wars... a great message; I love the song, it is a special song for Albanians, but I feared it will not gain attraction outside Albanian nationals.

I am so frustrated that Poland got through with all that has been said about the polish national final and the unfairness towards Jann. His song Gladiator was a much better song, and believe me, I would have supported it.
Georgia and Iceland were great. I guessed six out of the ten qualifiers and I guessed that my country (Greece) will not qualify. Very happy particularly for Albania, Austria, Australia and Estonia...
Yeah, I'm sad for Georgia. Not sure about Gladiator, it probably still would have qualified over Georgia, I see diaspora in both, participating countries and the global voting coming out for it, unless his vocals would have been painfully awful. And Georgia would still be out.

I was watching from my bed (it was 7am here in Australia when qualifiers were announced), and I was literally eating my doona during the announcement. 😅

It would’ve probably qualified with juries but the fact that it couldn’t hold up against the underdogs (Estonia, Cyprus, Poland) is a very concerning sign. I think it’s fair that it NQd.
Massively happy for Albania and Estonia ❤ ...and Australia was just flawlessly epic. Sad for Iru, though. Love the song, and she really gave it her all, but the staging was just way too static. That's simply not enough for a semi with no juries. As much as I'm not a massive fan of Solo (to put it mildly), Poland did understand the assignment better and wrung everything out of it, even if probably half of Blanka's vocals weren't live. Anyway...enjoy the Grand Final everyone!

Albania's not even in my top 10 but I had the same reaction when they qualified. I'm very happy they proved the naysayers wrong and improved from the national final a lot (also it's a good year to be Sacha Jean Baptiste)

I really, really tried to do a reverse psychology and be convinced that Poland was qualifying so I could end up happily wrong but NOPE. I feel so sorry for Iru, she's such a sweet and talented young lady and I hope she comes back in the future.
I missed Poland and albania over Georgia and iceland. Georgia had such a fantastic voice. Really unexpected for me. But well deserved for albania

This time I had 9/10 - overall 19/20. Just Georgia shocked me pretty hard. I still can't believe it. I was so sure that Iru will qualify, that I bought a Georgian flag for my Saturday party. And guess what, I'm the one watching Eurovision for 20 years, and I'm the only one who picked a country that will actually not be in a final...I'm devastated. Some of my friends will watch Eurovision for the very first time, and they have chosen a country that qualified. Well, waiting for Saturday and some jokes about me and my knowledge or music taste 😟But...seeing Poland going through over Georgia is just...sad 💔If someone liked Windows Movie Maker more than a strong, solid voice, then I'm speechless.

Yes I'm bitter for them as well, 2016, seven years ago, was the last time they qualified, that's devastating.

georgia was an absolute shock. despite the performance having a couple issues, i thought the song would carry it through (especially when they carried all the songs that suffered SF1's technical issues). once they announced poland and I saw the numer of slots left I knew one of my lock qualifiers was out.
VERY happy for Albania, they were my second favourite of the night and I've also been saying it's gonna qualify.
Was it announced that there were technical issues in SF1? I can't find any info.
I thought there were technical issues with sound or mics untill I heard Latvia and Portugal performance. And then I understood that there are no issues, just the artists and their abilities to sing live.
@@serhiypyshchyta638 It wasn't announced but there was clearly issues. Many performers were off key when they aren't usually, and with others the vocals sounded like they didnt blend well with the track. Latvia and Portugal were one of the only two who weren't really affected by it, maybe Sweden. I believe Finland talked about having monitoring issues, and he apparently improved a lot in the jury show yesterday now that they've been fixed.

Yeah, she grew way to popular but on the other hand she really did improve from her national selection

I thought Albania gave the best performance of the semi, and I wasn't even a fan of their song before. I am now, though. Albania and Australia were the 2 performances I most wanted to watch again.
Australia were my faves of this semi final. Hope they get at least a top 10 finish Saturday but the final is a whole different beast and I think they might struggle, even though they deserve a top 10 finish in my opinion.
What I am really mad about is latvia not qualifying, the song was great and performance was also amazing I dont understand why they didn't qualify.

The 10 countries announced were the names I would have gone with. I was happily surprised that Albania got through and I was nervous that Slovenia didn’t get through but that was a relief. I was impressed by Australia the most, they had very good vocals and a great performance.

I'm Polish, and all I can say to Georgia and Iceland is I'm so fucking sorry. Cause we all know we went through on the back of getting 60-70% of our points from just the UK-Lithuania-Ukraine diaspora triangle. And that's not right.

Heart broken for Georgia. I was really hoping for her because its brilliant. But as soon as that absolute car crash was announced I knew one of Armenia, Slovenia or Gerogia was missing out for bloody Blanka
I was happy with everyone qualifying except I would have swapped Poland with Georgia or Iceland. That being said, I understand why Poland qualified over them. Despite their incredible vocals, their performances were a bit static and despite all the weird staging elements from Poland, you can’t deny it kept the audience entertained (I would argue it was so bad it actually was camp lol)

Its sad for Georgia but i have to say the staging didnt really work for me. Didnt really need Cyprus in the final.. in general i think the way delegations managed the sound tech/staging player a massive role, because there were huge differences in quality. Estonias staging was really bad imo
Georgia really needed dancers or something else. She looked so alone and static on stage. I'm gutted for her. Very happy for Albania it was wonderful.

I picked 9 out of 10. I didn't pick Albania. Was so so pleased Estonia got through. Like you I thought she might get squeezed out. I picked her to get through though.
I was literally shaking for slovenia (my country). I am so proud of the boys but god damn the way they were announced last gave me an actual heart attack
I predicted the results of semifinal 2 almost perfectly too. The only prediction I got wrong was Cyprus not qualifying-Iceland didn't qualify instead. No real heartbreakers for me this time, unlike Latvia in semifinal 1.

I'm devastated about Georgia, I really thought they were coming top 10 in the final and that's exactly why I want the Juries back in the semifinals. Still got 8 out of 10, just didn't got Poland and Belgium right. I feel bad about not prediction Belgium though, he was great
Like SF1, I predicted 9 out of 10 correctly, with the outlier unfortunately being Poland instead of Georgia. Bring back the juries!
I missed Estonia for Georgia too. So sad for Iru, she looked despondent as the numbers narrowed. Dilja I felt was going to fall asleep, I think she was resigned to NQ.
I so get how you felt - I felt the same! My dad loved Australia and my mum loved Armenia (I liked both), and I think barring Georgia's shock NQ, it's a fair result. I think Iru was done dirty by her meh staging mostly, and might have been overtaken by how wholesome and good Albania's entry was staged

Everyone saying the Juries would have got Georgia into the finals but I honestly don’t think they would have. I think the juries would have seen past the good vocal and realised the song really isn’t about anything
yeah many juries could question the lyrics and that's said juries never really voted for Georgia even when they had good vocalists, so the biggest fault is on those who are responsible for the staging ruining Iru's chances

All that means I get 9/10 again too. SOMEDAY I'll get the full house, but given how the semi split was this year, I'll take the double 9/10. Also, good on Dad for the 7/10, that's actually a very good result for how open this was.

Do you also like Slovenia? It’s my number 2 on my ”countries that MUST win ASAP” list, right after Iceland. We share same values when grading songs and seem to have a similar taste in music so I just agree with you on almost everything. Go Finland obviously but my favorite of the year is Australia.
